The Worst Of WDW Food Awards

Worst food item that a lot of People recommend for some reason: Caseys Corner's Corndogs. It had been the worst thing I had taste in Disney and I had eat on Pinocchios. I don't know if it was because I got them very late during a MNSSHP but damn.

Coral Reef is officially the most underperforming restaurant in the parks. It has everything going for it. The aquarium is awesome, with the stadium style seating so everyone can see. All they have to do is serve mediocre seafood, and they can't even do that. We went 3 trips in a row just because the setting is so great, but we finally just gave up because the food is pricey and bad. Lobster mac and cheese was essentially Kraft microwave mac and cheese with a couple little piece of lobster thrown in. Is it so hard to give it a little more flavor, maybe bake on a breadcrumb crust on top for some texture, etc. They just aren't even trying.

All might hate me for this... but here it goes. Worst buffet goes to Tusker House for me. Dirty, food was not that great, and it was just a mess.
We ate there once... expecting great things from many glowing reviews, and none of us liked it at all.

steak and cheese?!?! LMAO
I love fillet steak sliced, onion lightly fried in butter diced then both mixed with mayo, all in a French stick with grated cheese added. It’s delicious. 😊

Worst ones for us;
BOG back when it first opened..completely bland food.
Yachtsman - saltiest fillet steak ever ..returned 3 times as I can’t have salt & I ended up going straight to dessert (4 other tables around us also sent their food back for being too salty)
Narcoses my husband got food poisoning after eating the prawns.
50’s prime time was so boring…the food & the none existent interaction service.
Boathouse when it just opened - brought my fillet steak out rare, I explained I’d asked for it well done. Server came back out with it still rare telling me that’s how it’s supposed to be eaten, I told him I know how I like my steak & it’s well done, he came out again & said the chef wouldn’t do it, I refused to eat or pay for it (I was on the dining plan & checking into Universal the next day) so used those credits & others I had left to pay for a large family table that was paying oop..that annoyed the server.

Agree with those of you who’ve said Tony’s — absolutely terrible, greasy pasta. 🤮 We’ve tried all the TS places at MK and they’re all disgusting (just some more than others). Last March we gave Skipper Canteen a go hoping that it would live up to reviews. No luck. The chicken was dry and tasteless. And everything was sooooo salty. Truly gross.

We just returned from WDW and the worst entree I had was the grilled Mahi fish tacos at the Boathouse. They were super salty and tasted terrible. They were served on a bed of plain cabbage and lacked the proper salsa. When I complained to the waitress she admitted that this was a dish that needs tweaking. Her manager came to the table and he also agreed that those tacos needed to be changed. They didn’t charge me for them but I felt that if the restaurant knew they weren’t good then they shouldn’t have them on the menu. Other than that we had a great time at the Boathouse and will be back.

Two trips to Boathouse for me: the first was horrible (service, food, atmosphere). About worst experience at WDW ever. The second time we went there was slightly better but not great, and I’m fine if I never go back there again.

Absolutely worst service: The Fountain. Waitstaff in an almost empty space during regular dining hours (7ish) ignored us. Stood to the side gossiping and took almost 15 minutes to even approach our party. It got worse as time went on. We were hungry and wanted to eat (and drink!). We eventually found another place that actually wanted our money…after over an hour in which we got one round of drinks and our initial app order was taken. Never again.

Worst breakfast: Garden Grill. Hard eggs, food was cold (and we were the first seating!), and character experience was not very good. A good/great character interaction can make an ok meal so much better (our breakfasts at ‘Ohana and lunch at Crystal Palace for example). This was just not good.

Worst pizza: Boardwalk Pizza Window. My kids, who ate anything covered in tomato sauce and cheese then, refused to eat it.

Most meh: (tie) Tusker House, Coral Reef.

On the other end, we’ve had more good to great meals than bad (we even like Tony’s!).

I had the same tacos a couple weeks. I thought they were decent, but not up to the reputation of Boathouse. They were just very average. My biggest issue was the tortilla...it was clearly just a store bought corn tortilla. The fish and crema were decent. But yes they need to revise that dish a bit.

During our first visit to the boathouse the waiter was recommending some things and specifically said he did not recommend the tacos. That was a year ago. If it’s still not up to par I’m not sure it will ever be.

That being said we’ve had nothing but good food and service from the boathouse. Just avoid the tacos I guess.

Had to make a separate post to call out the worst meal I’ve had on Disney property very recently.

I know Teppan edo is rarely recommended based on the rationale that it’s something you can get in your hometown. It’s a typical teppanyaki experience and there are many better options in the world showcase.

I agree with this but we decided to try it anyway. It may not be anything special but we usually have a good time at these restaurants and the food is always tasty.

Except it isn’t always tasty. The food is bad at teppan edo. Between us we had steak, chicken and shrimp. All of the protein tasted like it had come out of a years long deep freeze. Extremely chewy and bland - mostly inedible. The yum yum sauce tasted like orange colored ranch. A ginger sauce was slightly better but still barely had any flavor.

The noodles and vegetables were ok but again, so lacking in seasoning my tastebuds were crying out for any flavor at all! In the end we barely ate a thing and the server didn’t acknowledge our almost full plates as she took them away. I suspect it’s something they see often.

Stay away.

Overrated Honorable mention goes to Hollywood Brown Derby for us

Worst drink: The Beverley lololololololol
Worst Snack: Churro
Worst QS: Cosmic Rays
Worst TS: I don’t have one but HBD comes close

Seems many have not learned the Hot dogs are bad anywhere at Disney. I had one around 27 years ago at HS still remember IT (intentional) Made my stomach turn... NEVER ordered one any where again in the 30+ trips after. Seeing one makes me ill. I will not even walk on the sidewalk near Casey's. that so many rave about. If I had a choice between a Disney Hot Dog and a half discarded box of popcorn I would pick the box up and eat the popcorn. Did I mention to never eat a Hotdog at Disney?

Ohana and Homecoming make my worst list. Ohana the service was horrible and meat was dry, if we got served it at all. Homecoming was like eating a plate of salt.

I don't know if it was mentioned (I ain't got time to read all of that) but...All Star Music Resorts Turkey sandwich in the fridge is the WORST thing I've ever had at WDW and I ate a rock disguised as a dumpling (I assume that's what was going on with that dish at FARTs). The bread? Hard, couldn't even bite into it. The deli meat? Iced (I guess Elsa made it?). The cheese? Actually, the cheese was acceptable but it couldn't save that sandwich. I'd just had a 12 hour drive there and didn't feel like waiting in line for warm cafeteria food so grabbed it and left to my room. NEVER AGAIN! I don't care how desperate I am, I will eat just about anything before I turn to that again.
