Tron to Begin Soft Openings via VQ from Mar 20 - April 2, 2023*

any word on how long the IL$ lasted for Tron this AM? I saw elsewhere that all 3 VQ's (2 yesterday, 1 today) were sold out in under 4 seconds. IL$ yesterday was about 5-7 minutes before being sold out, but unsure if that was because people didn't know about it, or that is the accurate timing....

I was watching this morning and I did see it for a minute or two past 7:15am because I saw a return time of 1:50pm. Not sure if someone would have gotten and error message though if they tried to select it.

What time did you end up riding with BG 56?

My son and his 3 classmates attempted this morning, They did the 6:59.59 timing method. 3 of them got boarding passes - 46, 48 and 60. One didn't get a boarding pass. (They didn't know how to group themselves) My son had group 46 -- his initial time was 430 minutes -- so I think that was 2:10pm. I told him to keep checking the timing though.

The two with boarding groups 46 and 48 entered the queue together at 11:30am - so I guess that means it was going well today.

Curious, has anyone arrived late for their VQ window? What was your experience?

Historically with RotR and GotG you were still eligible to ride with no challenges but wondering if the same is being carried forward to TRON?
From what I’ve seen they seem to be strictly enforcing the return times during the soft opening. Probably going to be the case when it opens too, to avoid folks just waiting around to ride it at night and making the line crazy.

This is anecdotal, but someone on Reddit posted that they missed their VQ time and they were not allowed to ride. They got Group 10 which was among the first groups called. They arrived at 2:00 and were told no late arrivals during the soft open. They were hours late, so there might be some leeway if someone is a few minutes late.

I'm changing my strategy for my arrival day on Saturday. I'll be on the plane at 7:00am and it has wifi. I was going to try for both VQ and ILL for Tron (I've done that for Guardians in the past). Now I'll just try to get the ILL and go for the VQ at 1:00. I have two more MK days after that to try as well!

Yes, they won’t let you on if you are late for your boarding group. I got spot 27 in the 7 am booking, which was estimated at 11:40 am. We still had to drive there, but I thought that time would work, since i thought I had until 12:40 to get there. Well, the boarding group got called early, at 9:45. We got there at 12:30 and went straight to Tron. The first person that scanned us into the Tron area was fine, they scanned and let us through. We get up to the entrance and the scanner turned blue. They said we were late. I told them we had to drive there and the guy was quite rude and said well you had an hours notice. The lady then said we are being very strict with boarding groups. This is ridiculous when you have no say in what time your boarding group is going to be. Then to make matters worse i couldn’t even try for the 1:00 groups as it was showing that I already booked a group that day. Needless to say, my family and I were not impressed, especially when for Guardians they have been very flexible with everyone’s boarding times. I could see it with Tron if people were trying to hold out for a night spot (though if they’re only open until 6:00 for the soft opening that’s a mute point), but it’s crazy that they don’t give you time to get there. If they’re going that route, they might as well make it be like the 1:00 slot and have you have to be at the park first.

$LL seemed to last even longer today. There was still some around 7:25am, I got tired of checking past that.

We arrive Friday and will also be in MK Saturday. I'll probably shoot for ILL$, too.

From my experience with other ILL$, you usually select a time and by the time you complete the transaction it could be an hour or more later. Does anyone know what happens if you try for the last possible ILL$ of the day and there aren't any more after that? If it is gone will you just have to start the process over?

EDIT: Or am I thinking of G+ LL's?

Tron is fast like Guardians? Or like…?

I don’t really like rides hahaha but I do them all at least once… but want to manage the fear/expectations

Thanks!

This does not happen for ILL$ purchases as you have the option to select the return time you want. What you choose is the time you are assigned when you complete your purchase.

LL return times can change but does not appear to be as much of a problem lately.

Tron is faster than Guardians, but doesn't have the turns and backwards launch so many feel like it is less intense.

As of today, what is the latest time slot available for both ILL purchases and VQ call times that anyone has seen? Is it still 7:30pm? We live 2.5 hours away and wouldn't be able to make it until later in the day after the kids get off school so not sure if it will be possible or if the only way would be to be able to get there in the morning time?

Tron riders - any significant drops on the ride that one would feel coming off the seat or sensation in the stomach? DS doesn't like that. Loves Space and other coasters for speed and turns. Want to set expectations correctly.

I feel like Tron is less intense than Guardians. Speed felt about the same to me, but I’m not sure if that is accurate. It definitely felt a lot shorter to me-when we slowed to get off I remember thinking “it’s done already?”

They are reopening the VQ at 1PM, correct? Any insight on how long the VQ is open at that time these last few days? Or is it gone in seconds like the 7AM one is?

Wife and I are visiting MK this coming Saturday - so hoping we can get a VQ...obviously we'll be on there at 7AM trying. Not interested in an ILL...will be visiting for over a week in May so we will have plenty more chances to ride...

We booked this March trip well before the Tron soft open was announced so if we don't get to ride we won't be too disappointed...

It’s being reported that at both 7AM and 1PM VQs are currently filling in a few seconds.

in past years, we would have been there in April and loved that opportunity. Now, we have to wait till fall. Only slightly (I lie) jealous of those who get to ride far earlier.
