Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

I'm not asking YOU specifically but is it a big spring break week???

World and Land (out here by me) are PACKED. No one in California is on spring break though so I'm confused lol
Florida, Texas, Ontario (Canada) and many other places have spring break this week. Judging by wait times on the app, it is PACKED. It's super busy at Universal too with many rides at 100+ minute waits.

Happy to hear HEA dessert ADRs finallllly opening 😍 There’s quite the backlog.

Is it just me or did Disney in 2022 make it sound like WDW will begin celebrating the 100 this April?
That's what I'm remembering. I was planning our summer trip with Disney100 in mind. I'm a bit disappointed. I've been hard at work on several ensembles that will seem premature now.

That makes a lot of sense. Everyone I know out here in California is so confused lol

This week is usually the worst crowd-wise during spring break, though Easter week can be worse.

We are doing Universal this week. Yesterday and today were both bananas, though Sunday and Monday were a little better.

I really wish they could put these things in place sooner! Honestly why did they wait so long for Moana and Mirabel?!? My daughter loves Mirabel but who knows what the fall will bring. We were just there would have been amazing!!!

My son was majorly into Moana. 6 years ago...
In all fairness Moana met in Hollywood Studios during 2017 shortly after the movie released in theaters. She was then offered as a party exclusive during MNSSHP and MVMCP through 2019. I believe Disney would have moved her to a permanent location earlier had the parks not shut down in 2020.

Thanks! And I just looked up a video of the garden view, I didn't like so many light posts and other objects in the view. At least not for $300 for the three of us. I guess I'll just have to wait an hour plus beforehand to hold our spot as usual lol
I did that party multiple times Pre-covid and tbqh YouTube does not give you a true sense of what it’s like in the garden. The poles etc really do not obstruct your view especially standing at the back rail (which is the best spot, everyone rushes to the front rail). You’re so close and centered on the castle that it doesn’t matter, and the Partners statue being right there actually adds to it imo.

Tomorrowland Terrace is the one that never made sense to me. For Wishes sure, but for HEA you are paying a higher price for an objectively worse view of the projections. Sitting down isn’t worth it to me for that but I suppose it depends on your group.

Personally I’m considering the garden one now that we’re saving more on the resort stay but the loss of the savory options from 2019 really stings and I’m not sure the alcohol makes up for it.

They won’t be premature. There is 100th merch all over the parks right now. Last week I saw people wearing shirts and I bought myself a sweatshirt from the collection.

I was at Universal on saturday and sunday. I was shocked at how "quiet" it was. Longest wait was Velocicoaster at 2 hours but I only waited 20 with Express. Hagrid's said 90 but I only waited 45.

I've done the garden viewing a few times as well and it worked out great. I'd do it again, but I'm also disappointed in the loss of savory options.

Wear whatever you were planning, and have fun! We were there the first week of January, and the Disney 100 merchandise was already being put on the shelves next to Christmas, New Year 2023, and 50th Anniversary merchandise.

If anything, Disney was early releasing the stuff in January, but you will be right on time!
