Grand CAL. How much lower will the prices drop ???

Can I ask how many points you got?

You all are making me jealous! I'm hoping we can get a contract soon. Glad to hear you got a good price. I've been keeping my eye on several but not sure how low to go with an offer.
I talked to an agent about the 125 Dec UY contract. She said that the seller has a loan against the contract and “can’t come anywhere close” to $235 and the lowest they can go is $255…. And that is on a contract that has all of its points stripped for this year.
So, every resale situation is different.

Come up with a number that your family feels comfortable with and then start making offers. Expect to get a bunch of no’s… but it only takes one yes.

If you get a counter that is in the “ballpark” then consider if you are willing to loose the contract for the delta.

Decisions decisions… I’m at DL this weekend and the entertainment is so good! The parade, Fantasmic, the interactions of the characters.. even the merch is better than what I saw last week at WDW…

I “had made my mind” on “yes i’m definitely buying VDH direct”.. to “yes VGC resale is a better one”… to “no way Jose, let’s stick to offsite-front door hotels”… and back again and again hahaha

Points charts might be the data point that would help (?); also putting myself into 11ms planning (very hard)… I usually end the nights at DL- either fireworks or fantasmic; so the distance walking back to VDH vs VGC should be kind of similar (?)…

The other think is that owning DVC has made WDW my go to place, and upcoming years I want to travel more to new places .. then, owning at DL would “make me” come… and I love it… LOL… wish that vacation days/budget were larger :)

Anyhow.. DL this weekend has been phenomenal!

Magic Happens is my favorite! 🤩

If you ever happen to stay at DCA for WoC, the walk back to VGC can’t be beat (and exiting at the new entrance/exit will be a shortcut to DLH/the new DVC tower). And if you’re lucky and the monorail is still running after fireworks/fantasmic, you could always catch that back closer to DLH. Definitely big decisions! 🙃

I think EVERYONE is a winner whether they pick VDH or VGC. Like really the only con for VDH is my laziness lol!

It'll be fresh and brand new. I think the interiors (from the renderings) look amazing. As others, I'm just really curious what the points charts will look like. One would think that, when comparing to VGC, it would have more valuable points charts but I have a feeling it'll be right on par with VGC since they'll "make more money."

Is two UY really that big of a PITA? I guess you need to track multiple bank timelines?

I'm so tempted to try and grab another VGC contract and being flexible on UY would ensure the best deal. I'm trying to resist the temptation until we see the VDH point charts. I'm contemplating doing a 2/1 cycle of spending 2 years at VGC and 1 year at the VDH GV. I don't think I can handle DLH's over-crowdedness unless it's in the really cool looking GVs...

Ok, so we are in the exact same headspace.

To me the PITA is that I need to call MS to transfer the points to another member ID and then the points won’t show up online if I have to cancel the reservation for whatever reason.

Also, my understanding is that booking through transferred points with a different UY has to go through MS.

So I’m locking myself into potentially 3 decades of being annoyed one or two times per year….

Its two memberships So no single reservation can be made with both unless you transfer.

Once transferred, they retain their own rules so you need to monitor that and keep track because they won’t show up until you go to book.

They work well for booking at 7 months, but not during the home resort period, even if you have that resort, so you have to call to get MS to do it. That can be tricky when booking.

MS has now been allowing transfers more than once when the owners are the same but that is not guaranteed and at some point, they could stick to the rules they have foe transfers between different owners.

Now if you want them to use at different times and different trips, it can work well, especially if the number of points is a good amount,

Or, if you don’t want to transfer, you just book some nights on one membership and some on the others…ask MS to link and note it’s a continuous reservation so you don’t have to change rooms.

This is what we do because the few times we did transfer, it’s been a pain. But, we have three UYs, and use them as if they were all we had for different trips and do a lot of split stays so it works.

Hey all, try not to take all of the VGC contracts before I'm able to get one.

Great price! Can I ask how much below asking that was?

$282 was the original asking. I saw they dropped it to $245 and I put in a bid of $225 because that told me they were motivated to sell. They dropped it to $240 and I moved up to $230. He countered at $235 and I accepted.

The last few I poked around on wouldn’t drop below $255, but they were smaller contracts.

I will probably sell/rent the banked and current 390 points for this year at ~$23pp and to me that nets out to an adjusted $190pp. I may also keep part of them for next year, so we’ll see…Gotta get it closed first.

It's either you love GCH or you love DLH. I suppose one can love both. But people that buy VGC are usually on the first camp. There's no hotel like it. For that reason alone, I think the prices will hold steady. For context, I bought VGC resale in Feb 2021 for $220pp. So in comparison, I think the current $230-240 price is a reasonable increase in value. Can it go lower? Sure it can. But what we saw the last two years reaching $330's was completely unreasonable and unrealistic. I'm just going to pretend it never happened and I'm totally happy of where it's at. Oh, and did I mention? I REALLY love owning VGC! Every time I stay there, it makes me so happy beyond measure.

Same UY, or decided to just deal with it?

I’m a DEC VGC UY and I decided to deal with it. My wife didn’t really love VDH except for the GV.

We also have 200 direct points we can use at VDH if we want to mix it up.

Oof. That's a $2500 difference. Hope they find a buyer that works for their situation.

Same question, but 3 UY? I see very few UY listed that match what I already have - they seem to be June, Sept or Dec...

Sitting on my hands ... sitting on my hands ...

It seems like June is super available. Not seeing much for December though and I was considering it as a UY so kinda bummed about that.

Is it worth the PITA of having a 2nd VGC use year for a very reasonable deal without knowing the cost and point chart of VDH?

I have two use years between my VGC contracts and a total of 3 use years with my WDW resort contracts. I’ve had them that way for many years, and it doesn’t bother me at all. I actually prefer it that way. Might even add a 4th use year if I decide to add some Aulani points… That said, I use them separately and never bother transferring between memberships.
