HS Fantasmic-Never Seen it...Is it worth it? (and to give up OGA's?)

So we have only been to HS pre sorcerer hat removal. We have not seen toy story land, or star wars land or the Fantasmic show.

We are not HUGE star wars fans, but my son and I have a little "force" in us, that we find interesting...I think to see it in person anyone would have to appreciate! We have an OGA's reservation for 8:10pm, but booked a Fantasmic dinner reservation for 4pm for the 8pm show. We would be 45 mins late I believe (at best) to OGA's (which probably woudln't be honored and then charged for a missed reservation)....

The question is...do we pass on the OGA's...(not being the HUGE fans, but think its kinda cool) and go for Fantasmic, Cancel Fantasmic, and go to OGA's (maybe Fantasmic isn't all that great...I seriously know NOTHING about it and maybe it's not worth the dinning package/experience)...or CHANCE that OGA's let us still in....we are less than 60 days out, and other than a last minute cancellation on OGA's I don't think I'll get a revision to a later time due to it being during spring break.

Thank you all :)

You probably should be able to get an earlier Oga’s adr closer to the day. It’s a neat themed bar with basically only drinks - alcoholic/non alcoholic with a couple of snacks options.

Is there a 9:30 PM second Fantasmic! on your date-if so cancel the Dinner and go to the second show-easy to find a seat.

If it comes down to Oga's or Fantasmic!,definitely go with Fantasmic!

Oga's is to Fantasmic! is as Barnstormer is to Rise of the Resistance!

NO comparison IMO.

Thank you all for the great advice. I have not seen that a 2nd showing has appeared yet for another Fantasmic show (anyone know when they typically announce another show and open for dinner packages?)....The dinner packages for the 8pm show JUST showed up...and were not previously there...I agree would love to shoot for the 2nd showing of Fantasmic, but it's not published yet (which I'm surprised as going week of Easter).

I was in HS today and it was packed (President day week and school vacation for most of the northeast and Mardi Gras week). I saw a few Ogas openings pop up during the day today while I was looking for other options: so you will likely be able to modify that time even on a busy week. We also saw Fantasmic today for the first time ever and really enjoyed it. We do Ogas every trip since it opened and it is a fun experience.

My husband and I feel exactly the same way.

We don't like it either! Seen it multiple times and don't enjoy it at all.

OP, we'd choose a bar - and actually have literally sat at the bar at 50's PT while family watched Fantasmic - but people seem to love it. Ogas is not near as hard to snag anymore so I'd aim to reschedule it for another time that day as reservations pop up and see it for yourself.

Oga reservations open up a lot more within the 24 hr period due to cancellations. I would recommend booking it for after the park closes, say 9/9:30/10 so that you can relax after F! and watch Galaxy’s Edge empty out and enjoy the photos/vibes

Have not seen the new version. I loved the old version. My wife could care less. we compromise and go every few years.

Loved the old version of Fantasmic. New version is nowhere near as good. They cut out a lot of the live action that made it special. Now it's pretty much just another projection show.

Trying to get into your ADR that late is not an option. All you’ll have to show for that is a no-show charge.

Hold them both for now though. Disney just added a second F! showing to many March dates so I cannot imagine the same won’t happen for Easter week. If you don’t get a second showing look to drop Oga’s and set a dining alert to pick one up at a better time.

Gonna have to vehemently disagree there. I love F! exactly because it isn’t just a projection show. And I like the new version better than FL’s old version 🤣

Fantasmic is great! But the DLR is fantastic!

Do you need to sit in a specific spot or are you ok standing? They have walk up available at Oga's too.

You don't know until you know...so give Fantasmic a try! I think it's a solid show.... If I had to choose between Oga's and Fantasmic I'd choose Fantasmic. Also, I feel like I've been able to walk-up to Oga's with no reservation and get in.

my husband did both and said Fantasmic! Is better. I enjoyed fantasmic and thought it was really good

I agree with others keep both and keep looking for a different Ogas time. I haven't seen the new fantasmic but loved the old one. I have been to Ogas and it was a one and done for me. Too crowded, you are either going to be standing at the bar or standing at a table or sharing a booth. We shared a booth with 3 other parties and were actually given little stools on the outside of the booth and got bumped a lot because it's just too small. My son loves it but he loves any bar at WDW.

I love Fantasmic! It's a fun show to watch with the family! It's a great experience and I think it's well worth watching.
