Thirsty Thursday indeed Janet!

Watching snowflakes is always nice when you don`t have to go out anywhere......yep, retirement is the best!!!






First coats are on our bedroom and master bathroom walls......wasn`t sure about the master bathroom at first, but it was the light, looks much better now. Loving the bedroom, it`s more blue than I expected but the decorators say it`ll be more grey on the second coat. But, complete change for us in there, loving it so far.

Couple of hours till dinner, but we have been nibbling that ham all afternoon ......it`s really taken on all the flavours I added, it`ll be delicious tonight, looking forward to it.

Ordered our new book group choice for this month upcoming, we chose Wuthering Heights, I have a copy as do some of the women, so only had to order 8. I was surprised as it`s one of those books most folks have read, but it was chosen so we read it, good book though.

Another month almost over.......time flies!!!

Quick hello. It’s a slow day at work and I’m currently on hold with an insurance company. (In other words, its Thursday.)

I have decided that I do not want to be a medical coder when I grow up. This class is tedious and rather confusing. I am literally counting the days until graduation. (106)

Yesterday I decided to go ahead and reserve a room for September. I booked Aventura for Sept 16-23, but that may change depending on what AP rates are like.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will try to go back and read posts if I have the time later.

Yay Charade. Will be there arriving the day after you, I’ll be at RPR, so far, but always good to keep looking until 5 days out, as can always adjust lower if you see it. I hope you like Adventura. Now, only places I have not stayed is there, and the two on I drive. I actually liked my CB stay, but for the bus ride. Last year, I got my first 3 nights at an AP rate at SF, after getting a good SM rate months before, for the following nights, which I could not change to AP rate. Was going to go to the mouse those first three nights, but even POP was crazy priced, double what I was paying at SF. So I stayed the whole time at SF. This year, I smartly booked RPR last Spring, and the rate I got, the SM probably is the lowest I can get. Was happy, as so far, rate is double what I am paying.

On a good note. I started my rental higher than it should be, but thought, crazy high prices for rentals lately, and about the same as a week last year Yesterday, I though had dropped 20 after first booked, checked and I saw it 7 dollars less. Cancel and booked. Today, 45 dollar drop. Yep, repeat. Will check the next two days to see if it will go even lower. Would be nice. Rental adage, rinse and repeat to get the lowest price. Otherwise if lowest, I’ll fill out, so can right to the car.

Almost bedtime here, been a long day as I was up ultra early today and constant. Very much looking forward to hitting the hay tonight.

Friend came round tonight and we had a glass of wine and chatted away….we sound board off each other well. She is very wise indeed.

Ham was lovely tonight, didn’t need anything after that.

Keisha, for starting Sunday. I’m hoping goes down even more. Yeah, well I have a placeholder reservation for September, at 12 noon for both ways already, but will change the times when I get my flights settled mid February. Still kinda high, though close to what I paid last year for September, and even saw a small price drop so far, as I always try that rinse and repeat hoping to get as low as I can. Thus, hoping to see some large drops before my late September time.

When are you going in February? And yay, I’ll be meeting up with Patty, as will be half of our HHN tour group people to be going to the one night of the OI event. Based on the 10 day forecast, you may see me in my jacket on that late night fun. And from the cool Florida is getting today and tomorrow, looks like most of our week will be in the low 80’s. You will certainly see me changing to shorts and tossing jacket in bag, while waiting for luggage.

Took trash out, and saw the skies have cleared completely. So nice to see the stars. But as the skies were so clear, the temps will drop. 37 degrees said my outdoor thermometer, and weather news said, will be 30 degrees by the early morning. Freeze warnings for the overnight. Eh, may be up in the wee hours, but will not get going until later in the morning. Lightweight winter jacket will probably make its appearance tomorrow. Will still be in the 30’s degrees until after lunchtime. Our Friday weather isn’t bad, even though lower temps, with the high 16 degrees lower than today. Hehe, in my local 10 day forecast, snow listed for next Thursday. But that may change. A week from today weather news may be different. Looks to be a rainy, cool next Saturday, so hoping our evening flight will still go as scheduled, and we get picked up, so warm car ride home.

Hope all have a great Thursday night. Fabulous Friday will be here in hours now. Woot! On Friday, will be doing some grocery shopping, as older one expects me to well stock the pantry, and some bill paying, as due while I am gone, plus slowly deciding what I want to pack, and what needs washing. As Saturday, will drag those bags out of the closet and do wash. Still have Sunday early morning to finish packing. We have a mid morning flight.

Today graduation regalia sales opened, so I purchased mine and B's. I hope it arrives in reasonable time so I can get pictures made.

Lynne - I'm hoping to get into Sapphire Falls if the price is right. The Savvy Traveler rate for Aventura is pretty low right now, so I decided to go ahead and reserve. I decided to take a full week vacation this year since I missed out last year.
I need to check and see if our car rental rate for CA has gone down.

Keisha - Well wishes for your husband.

Think I will watch some mindless TV for awhile. I need to do something brainless after studying.

Yay Charade, almost done. Yep, I check every so often, even more than once a day, to see if rental car price goes down. Never hurts to keep looking until you are ready to leave. I don’t think you did bad, for booking at a good price for your stay in September. Good thing, AP rates usually don’t come out until end of July into August sometimes. I check that every so often too, for hotel rate. As well as my airfare. Never know if you see a better price, if so, take advantage of it.

It`s exciting getting the Graduation outfits!! One of mine they had sent the wrong colour of ribbon for the hat, got it last minute so it was fine for the ceremony and pictures.

Full week will be fabulous at Universal.





Friday again........always love a Friday!!

We`re happy to leave the decorators in the house on their own, we know them well and they are local, so everyone knows them and they are completely trustworthy, we`ve used them before. When we moved to this village we asked about a decorator, everyone and their grandma mentioned this couple of guys.

Will get some shopping while we`re out, need some fresh stuff so farm store as usual for that, then we need some store cupboard ingredients so will pop into the grocery store too.

Last of my avocados for breakfast with a slice of home made bread toasted and some fruit, with some new breakfast I ordered that arrived yesterday, smells strong, so should be a lovely pot.

Steaks tonight for dinner, another pop in to our not so local farm butcher who we`ll pass on the way home, it is out in the middle of nowhere, but his meat is beautiful and they have a deli shop too in there, ideal to pick up bits and bobs.

Our bedroom will be almost finished today, I love the colour of the bedroom and master bathroom.....one of them is back tomorrow to finish the glossing and make a start on the other bedroom then they`ll be back Monday and Tuesday. It`s getting there.

Yep, no need for alarm. I’m up early anyway. Tea and my largest tv. Still not the best time to see new stuff on the tube, other than some news. But even with news, all not new news. I already listened to the news on my radio. Got all the news I needed in about 10 minutes.

Ack. Schumi, hope your knee is okay. And sounds like your home updating is almost done. I hope the color of your bedroom dried to a perfect colour.

Well, mostly clear, and yes, at a temp below freezing. Another partly sunny day. Morning sun seeing will turn into cloudy viewing the rest of the day. Hence, depending on how overcast, will hopefully still be in sunglasses today. And my lightweight winter jacket.

Good Friday afternoon everyone.

Robo, yes, I hope your son gets time to heal. Thank you for the update on him. Hope you enjoy your time at MG the week after us. By the time I looked at hotel prices, I scored a good rate next week, as could not find prices in my range after this coming week. On well. At least the holiday decor should be seen when we are there. One year, I will come during MG. Would like to see the parade and maybe take in a concert. We will also pick up the AP magnet, as said first day to get it is the day we leave.

Enjoy lunch with your husband, hope he chooses somewhere nice, but you`ll enjoy it anyway....it`s nice to hear someone else likes haggis.....there`s not a lot of folks will try it knowing what`s in it, but it is delicious, and very much an acquired taste.

We had a nice lunch thank you. He has a favorite restaurant that has a yummy salad bar. We had a nice time.

Hubby really liked the Haggis. He is not one to try many new things with food so I was impressed.

Robbie, I`m so glad your son is improving, sorry to hear he is having some discomfort, yes, hope it improves before surgery. It must be so hard being a distance away, but you know at least he`s been cared for and will be well looked after when he`s in hospital. Continued good wishes for him and all your family, when one is ill, it affects everyone who cares about them.

Thank you Carole. I speak to him everyday. It is so good to hear his voice and know he has a wonderful group of doctors looking after him. Having a sister who is a Nurse close by to step in if needed is a blessing.

Glad you like the sunrise/sunset pictures, we are very lucky where we live it is very scenic in some areas.

I have a whole ham sitting covered with a whole bottle of coca cola, herbs and spices and will cook it overnight tonight. That`ll do us the next couple of days for dinner and Tom will have it for lunch too.

Sweated putty balls for an hour, glitchy issues on WDW site to register for our Moonlight Magic DVC thing on 2/8. Glad Member Services was able to over-ride what appears to be a site side issue.

Good to hear you triumphed over the WDW glitch to get your Moonlight Magic ressies for you and your sweetie.

Promptly diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia (not his 1st rodeo) & taking loads of RX snuck out & cleared the main sidewalks while i was taking a show. That man lol. He should be back in fine form soon.

I’am missing my little buddy J I faced timed with him and my Niece B yesterday. I blew him a kiss and he kissed the laptop screen.

I was going through some photos today on my IPad. I love this photo of my Niece and little J as Morticia and Pubert Addams.



This was our son’s first hair cute when he was a little fellow. I was sad to see all his little blond ringlets fall. I did keep a few.


I found the newspaper article picture on sisters and myself when we graduated from Nursing School. It was a little wrinkled. I think I have a better one somewhere.

They went into the Nursing Program 2 years after I did. I had my ADN and just continued on for my BSN. So when they were graduating with their ADN I was graduating with my BSN. I was done in December with my Degree, but I waited until Spring to get my BSN Degree so we could all graduate together. The local paper got word that 3 sisters were all graduating with their Nursing degrees together. It was a nice thing to share with my sisters.

That is my little sister K on the left and my older sister D on the right.

I loved wearing my Nursing Cap. I still have it. My class was the last one to have a Capping Ceremony at the University we attended. I always felt a Nurses cap helped to set Nurses apart from other hospital staff. Every School of Nursing had a different cap.

I was invited to join Sigma Theta Tau and was honored to be included.

So nice to do a bit of reminiscing from time to time.


Weather is a little cooler today, but will start going up again tomorrow.

I went out to Sam’s to renew my membership this morning. It was getting close. I like getting gas there.

MD appointment this afternoon so need to get moving.

Love your pictures Robbie! Your son is a real cutie pie……and I love the picture of you and your sisters together, I agree nurses should wear the nursing cap. That’s one of my earliest memory of visiting my sister when I was 4 who was in London doing her training, I remember the cap and cape she wore over her uniform. Nurses are a special breed, and reminiscing is always nice, Tom and I love sitting at night and talking over many things we remember from both our time together and from our childhoods.

That is a lovely pic of Little J too.

I’m glad you are so reassured your son is surrounded by excellent staff and of course with your sister being close too, it must be a blessing for you knowing he is being so well cared for. Continued good wishes for him.

I did enjoy my little taste of haggis the other night, I think Tom wants another, he has the taste for it now……lol……and glad you liked the pictures, I love beautiful scenery pictures.

It is cold here, but not dreadful, at least the sun was shining.

Bedroom is lovely, almost done with the paint, just finishing touches, but I don't like the paint for the master bathroom……I chose it, so it’s on me. I’ve picked another colour and our decorators will have time to do it on Monday and Tuesday when they’re back to do the other room. Tom just laughed and said, we’ll, it’s the first time I’ve changed my mind with a colour, decorators are teasing me though!

About to get the steaks cooked…….barely 3 minutes a side so they‘ll be rare…..2 nice filets. Doing spiced wedges and portobello mushrooms with the steaks and a nice Malbec.

Hoping for a good movie to watch tonight…….might be a dvd of course……

Another quick stop in. I am almost done with my coding class for the week. Today was fun. I took a study break and went with dh to look at cars. He test drove 3 and then picked the one he wanted. It was a tough choice. We put a deposit down, but probably won't get the car until April. Not a bad wait.

Saturday again.......

Watched Inisidious 2 last night, it was jumpier than I remember, will watch the 3rd one tonight as right now everyone is still hibernating, we could go out on our own of course, but we`re hibernating too it seems.

Decorator has just arrived, just one of them today, both will be back Monday to finish master bathroom and the other room. Bacon sandwich for him this morning.....

Lovely still calm day out there, so we`ll walk into the village and pick up a few bits and bobs, having my home made chicken noodle soup for lunch, so will pick up some kind of bread from the bakers, they have several different choices every day as well as their regular products.

Ah the weekend is here. Yay for one more sleep, though I will be up early tomorrow, as I am today, And ack, I broke the arm of my glasses. So a proud owner of glasses with duck tape on it. I hope it holds until I come back and get a new pair. Sigh. Nothing like crap happening the day before.

And so, in a few more hours, will see what our pole position is. LOL Hehe, get our boarding passes on my phone, so to show our letter and number of where we stand in the line to get into the plane.

Our day should look like this: Mail to drop off, and a return of not wanted item. Then some more grocery shopping. as list older one gave me, store I did go to yesterday, did not have all he wanted. I’m pretty sure I know which store I can get the not much more of what remains, of what he asked for. Oh and getting the luggage out, and doing some last minute clothes’ washing and drying. Nice thing, little one ordered online sunglasses and a pair of pants she thought she would like. Both came in two days. So she’s so happy with them, they most likely will be in her suitcase. And since she liked the pants so much, ordered another color for her, as store said only 2 left in her size. And have to say, was a little surprised the sunglasses were fashionista kind. She’s more a pilot look sunglasses wearer. But of course she rocks all the sunglasses she wears.

Super sized stupendously happy Saturday homies. Hope some lazy time, it is the weekend after all.

So, this arrived today.



I can’t believe how fast it was. Last year they were having problems with students not getting their regalia until just a few days before graduation. They went with a new company this year.

My sister texted and told me she wants to come to graduation. I told her that a hotel room would be nearly impossible to find. All I could offer is the floor of our spare room. She is wiling to take the floor, so against my better judgement I told her she could stay with us. My niece is probably coming too. What have I gotten myself into?

Yay Charade. Glad it came fast, and looks very nice. I don’t think little one has even told me what she needs to order. She is cherry and white colors , so I don’t know which she will be wearing.

Ah, luggage has finally been taken out if the closet, and wash in the dryer. Little one was looking for her bathing suits. I think she found them. I always bring two, so if one is still kinda wet, have the other to wear. We are hoping warm enough to enjoy some VB fun.

Saturday night relaxing time. Well, and packing, with rest done in the wee hours of tomorrow. Late morning flight, so we are hoping taking off on time, and arriving early. Rental all filled out, thus, after luggage retrial, walk to car and drive off. We are so looking forward to warmer weather.
