French Market will be converted into Tiana's Palace restaurant in 2023

Hopefully the food gets better. That place has been awful for years.

Yeah, and it used to be good a while back. Hopefully this will get it back to having some good food. I am glad it will remain quick service.

Yeppppp. I'm honestly not much of a complainer, but the last couple times I tried it, it was awful. I remember it used to be so good many years ago. The French Dip was THE BEST back then. And then I got it about a year and a half ago and it was dry and flavorless. So disappointing!

So I'm really hoping that the quality will improve when they re-open.

Same. The French Dip used to be my favorite and it was just so bad the last time I had it. In addition, both the beef stew and half chicken have really gone down in quality as of last Spring, when we ate there for the last time because it was so bad.

I'm really excited for this change, honestly it will be good to have a little bit of a change up in that area. I hope the food quality improves. I feel like it will be good, most things tend to be really good when it first opens.

Great idea! I'm glad they're making this change, and as so many have said already, here's hoping the food quality improves! It's such a nice spot to sit (except when it rains, and there are very few nice spots to sit in DLR when it rains).

Me and your kid can whine together! This was at the top of my to do list while there.

I totally get it…. Stopping and getting beignets and coffee is tradition…. Last Friday my kids and I polished off 12 beignets between the 3 of us. When we took my parents in December, I think we ordered 18 beignets. It’s ridiculous. Cafe du Monde they are not, but we still love them!

I'm hoping they offer the beignets somewhere else when we are there!

I think they have offered them at the Royal Street Veranda before when the usual spot was being worked on. I could be wrong about that, but I feel like I remember seeing that before. Can anyone confirm?

How do they compare to Ralph Brennan's? I thought about it last time I was at Downtown Disney but then looked at the price.

The last time I got Mickey beignets was 2019-2020 when they had the ones with peppermint candy dust.

I’ve never even tried the ones at the Jazz Kitchen because we rarely go to DtD! Some people say the ones at the Jazz Kitchen are better…. Mint Julep is way more convenient though, and since my kids love them…. 🤷‍♀️

I've seen some folks rave about Ralph's saying they are so much better. Well I just had those for the first time and they taste exactly the same or at least incredibly similar. No mickey shape for Ralph's either.

Mint Julep order has 3 beignets, and Ralph's has 5 a bit smaller ones.

I'm very nostalgic about French Market as a CM from the 80's-90's. Good times there and the food was great. That said, the food has gone downhill in the last 5 years for sure. I really like the Tiana concept, but I feel like Disney really mailed it in on her shop. Merch is light in there and there are so many cute things they could be buying to sell in there from NO. It always looks out of stock when I go in there. Anyway, hoping Disney does this concept justice.
