Super odd question. Is the finish area covered with Wifi or is it only limited to the parks and resorts? I'm coming from Canada so trying to figure out if I need to buy an eSim or I'll be fine with Wifi. Mainly wondering since my group would need some sort of connection to find each other at the end.

WnD 2017 and MW 2020: No wifi.
ETA: In the parking lot/start/arrival location. So I could only text when in a park. I now use Airalo to buy eSim when traveling. It sometimes take a bit of adjustments to get a new text group together for some reason.

I’ve managed to pick up a WiFI signal in certain parts of the parking area, but it’s very, very spotty: definitely do not count on it!

travel agents do not get bibs anymore, and unfortunately I think all charities are accounted for at this point for marathon weekend... so sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Sounds like it will be an interesting few days for some as this weather system moves through. Traveling here and expecting 2* for this weekends longer run, as someone who usually is running in Florida temps this will be different.

MK is now scheduled to be open until 1am the night before the 5k. I'm insanely considering it. How bad of an idea could it be? We have no parks scheduled for Thursday (other than some photos at Epcot). I guess I'll ask my family what they think.

I’m an enabler. I’m doing an After Hours event at HS the night before the Princess expo, in the hopes that I’ll be able to fall asleep earlier before the races and not be an exhausted mess by the time I hit MK in the half (I want happy tears this time, not miserable ones )

2023 Marathon Weekend DIS List v2022_12_20

Alright, attached you will find the current version of the 2023 Marathon Weekend DIS List! Please review your information for mistakes/errors. Also, please let me know if you have any follow-up questions. Some things to note:

-Without bib numbers, I am making an educated stab in the dark on which starting group each person will be in. Additionally, because I don't have the proportion of people in each starting group, I'm making an educated guess on starting time. This year the graphics don't even include the number of corrals for the 5k/10k. So I'm taking complete stabs there as well. The information is based on historical data from years and years of past runDisney behavior. But it's important to note that the most likely start time is 5:00am and the most likely length of time between gun start and balloon ladies is 60 min. However, there have been cases when the race starts a smidge early (4:50-4:55) or late (5:15-5:30) for a variety of reasons. And with that, sometimes the rate of release of corrals is faster than expected, and balloon ladies to gun start could be as little as 30-45 min. With that being said, most likely is a 5:00am start and 60 min gap in time.
-When bib numbers come out, I could make adjustments to timing if I see something in the numbers.
-I'm proposing the pre-race meet-up spot be at the southwest light-post in the reunion area. Let me know if the information in the PDF isn't clear enough to find that location. I've included a youtube video that shows the walk-up to that location as well as pictures and graphics for visual people.
-Some of the mileage on the real bathrooms is slightly off, but I didn't want to go through and change it all. The locations are what matter.
-The PDF includes the meetup information for Hurricane Hannah's on Friday at 2pm and DATW on Monday at 11am.

When I get more runners info, I'll update it again. Currently we have:

5k - 31 runners (23 yes/maybe to the pre-race meet!)
10k - 34 runners (29 yes/maybe to the pre-race meet!)
HM - 38 runners (35 yes/maybe to the pre-race meet!)
M - 52 runners (46 yes/maybe to the pre-race meet!)
