Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

My stay for December 7-13 is now $1200 more than when I booked it. Always good to keep checking.
Thanks for the reminder! My Swan reservation for Dec 11 went down 2000 pts (to 45,000). The 12th is hanging in there at 44,000.

I am waiting for a free night certificate I am owed through an Amex credit card - they told me July 1 that I would get it in 8-12 weeks! I would like to use it on the 12th if it comes before the rate gets too high to use.

Thanks so much for confirming. I wish MV's would pick up at the resorts and for all the other websites to double check their information before posting.

I agree. Able bodied can walk there quicker than boat. I always take the boat now, not abled body now. But have walked many times. Boat goes HS>S/D>Y&BC>BW>Epcot. And reverse.

My wife seems to always get a blister day one...even if we try and prevent. It's kind of become a joke but a tradition. We'll probably try boat the night of the 10th of September as we don't get in until about 5:30pm and I would prefer traditional blister starts Sunday vs Saturday night :)

I can walk it, but we don't I get enough steps in and we're not rope droppers so we like cruise on the boat... though I wish they would do a Jungle Boat type of ride... that would be EPIC!

@Kimrlav - I agree, I can't remember if they used to pick up at SD or not, I'm in the habit to never assume anything and try to find it on Disney's own sites... been led down that path too.

I remember someone posting awhile back that you could have them pick you up at the Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf entrance as a way around not picking up at the Swan Reserve.
Regarding Minnie Vans not picking up at Swan/Dolphin - you probably could have them pick you up at Boardwalk or Yacht Club, if you thought that was convenient. Several years ago I took an Uber/Lyft from Wilderness Lodge to Fantasia Gardens, and it wasn't popping up on the driver's GPS. Maybe it's improved since then.

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked a bunch times. We are arriving at The Swan for the first time in a few days. We don't have any view. Is it even worth putting in a request? Any floor or section of the hotel we should request? I thought I read somewhere something about the 6th floor? Any advice is appreciated!

@DISNEYNY if you paid for no view that's probably what yo will get. But never hurts to ask. I debate if doing it in advance or not. Since you booked no view you're in that "slot" but I think when you arrive there is nothing wrong seeing if there is any free upgrades, they will often offer you to pay for a better view, that's up to you to decide. During our last stay at the Swan we had a great corner room, but what I liked about it was the view of the channel between Swan & Boardwalk. When we arrived we asked if they had any King rooms, but those are few and hard to come by.

I know for our stay , using marriott points coming up on the 10th we were able to get a King Alcove room. When I booked there seemed to be several of them at the Swan.

We’ve booked no view the past four visits and always got no view. (Well, view of the mechanical parts of the building). Before Marriott starting managing, we used to get views all the time (but, they didn’t have all the rooms defined like they are now). It doesn’t hurt to ask, but it’s probably unlikely to get an upgrade unless you are Bonvoy Platinum Elite.

I have the same free night certificates but they only work for stays that are 35k points or less per night. It’s really frustrating to not be able to use them at the Swan or Dolphin.

You can now add points up to 50,000 total. So my 45,000 room is a free night cert plus 10,000 pts. If my 2nd night room goes over 50,000 before I get the next certificate I will just have to keep my current pts reservation.

And logged into my Bonvoy account to see the 35,000 pt free night cert arrived on Sept 1, modified my reservation to that plus 9,000 pts.
