Do you believe in karma, luck?

Like, Friday 13th, breaking mirrors, stepping on cracks, etc?

I think there is something to it, but not much more than we create ourselves.

I think there is some luck involved when it comes to random things, but I also think people interpret things that happen to them through the lens of “lucky” and “unlucky”, based on their attitude at any given time.

I believe in God, so luck, karma and everything good comes from Him. Most negative things in life come from our choices and circumstances. 99 percent of those things result because of a human’s free will or a scientific reason. Not making this religious, it’s just my view.

I believe in luck and karma, also believe strongly in Fate. If it was meant to be, it will be. I don't have superstitions about cracks in the sidewalks or mirrors, or black cats or anything like that though

I raise this up because I watched Apollo 13 today, which was launched on the 13th minute of the 13th hour etc. and practically blew up in space nearly killing all those on board. Not great luck.

First, Apollo 13 - good movie! Great cast. Hope you enjoyed it.

Second, I do believe that what comes around goes around. I try my very best to share good.

And I can be superstitious. Last week we were having work on our gutters done and I had to exit out the back door. There was a ladder I could have easily gone under. NOPE! I went the steep angle way around it. Just couldn't do it (FYI when my daughter came home from school she stopped dead in her tracks and said NOPE! and went around too! :laughing:

) And I have also been give room 666 before at a hotel. NOPE! I was shocked they even had that as a room. They skip floor 13, just skip room 666 while you're at it.

I don’t typically believe in luck, but sometimes in life, you might find a hidden charm if you look closely enough.

Speaking of Apollo 13, I learned today, the very day you‘ve seen the movie, that there was an unused gory FX scene. It’s from the scene where Lovell‘s wife is have a nightmare of her husband in space.

They all made it back safely, using only what was onboard,
which just so happened to be exactly what they needed.
Just sayin...

Nope, not at all. I believe everything is random chance…although we obviously have some control over things by making good/bad decisions. But everything else is random chance, no destiny or fate. While I don’t believe things “happen for a reason”, I do believe people tend to make the best out of their situations so whatever way things eventually go we tend to look back and feel that what happened was for the best.

Owned several black cats
I’ve seen stuff you could say bad luck - was it

But I believe there is some good and bad luck and yes there is karma

I'm not particularly superstitious. I love all cats - including the black ones, I am careful with mirrors - but mostly so as not to cut myself :rotfl:

, and I don't think I really worry about ladders.

But I am kind of weird about 13 - Friday the 13th the day doesn't bother me at all (my grandma was born on it, and she was one of my favorite people ever!) But somewhere along the line, I picked up the habit of never leaving the TV volume on 13. :confused3

Yes, I would imagine they considered themselves to be very lucky, even though their original mission was not completed as planned.
