HI All- we will be staying in a 1BR at BWV for the first time in Feb. How comfortable/uncomfortable are the pull out couch beds at BWV? I am travelling with my 7yo and my mother. Ideally I would share the king with my 7yo and my mom would be on the pull out- but if it is super uncomfortable, I don't want to make her sleep on it. Thanks!

I'm sorry to tell you that the pull out couches at BWV and the other DVC resorts are notoriously uncomfortable. That's why many of us can't wait for them to be replaced by the couch/queen size Murphy bed combinations with real mattresses.

It was bad when we went last year. Friend ended up putting extra blankets on the pull-out to make it more comfy

My mom slept on it for 4 nights with no complaints. We took a cot for my teenage son though so he didn't have to share a bed with Grandma :) We got the alternate layout standard view 1 bedroom so there was plenty of room for the cot.

I've asked for the egg crate foam topper, and that helped for the few nights I was on the pullout.
I asked for that also, but it didn't make much difference. I ended up just sleeping on the couch with the back cushions removed. I also had that alternate room layout 1 br, wished I had brought my aerobed on that trip, there was lots of space.

I slept on it for 3 days with a small child. We got a couple blankets off the housekeeping cart. I thought it was fine.

I wouldn't put grandma on it, and I wouldn't describe it as "deluxe," but it was adequate.

You could buy a kids air mattress for the 7 year old. Plenty of room for it.

Does Disney provide that?
They can! At least, at BWV they've been able to provide one for me. We had to be really specific about what we wanted - one housekeeper brought us extra sheets, so we had to kindly ask again.

TBH, it's still not the best bed I've ever slept on, but I'm usually so exhausted that the topper helps enough.

Does Disney provide that?
Usually only if a previous guest left one in the room when they checked out. I don’t think DVC purchases those to have them available. Since it is a time share, you are usually expected to provide extra items yourself.

BWV 1 bedroom has an ALTERNATE layout? What's different about it? We've had both Garden and Standard 1 bedrooms and they're always the same layout, sometimes reversed but the same actual layout.
Does it still have the Clown Doors on the washroom? (Honestly, we love BWV but think those doors are a riot).

There are three rooms in the "turret" WAAAAAY down by the tennis court that are laid out more like an Old Key West one bedroom. I will add some pictures in a minute but you might be able to find a room tour on you tube. Its rooms 2123, 3123, 4123

Never knew. I own at BCV but BWV is my daughter's all time fave so we go there a lot. Obviously, I know very little. Ha. Very exciting even though the odds of getting those rooms are probably nil. Still fun to know they are there. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain.

The other thing that puzzles me about BWV is something about 'cottages'. That shocked me as, again, I didn't know about them. I really need to literally roam around. It's just that I'm so tired by the time we do everything else, I'm too lazy to literally walk around and explore.

I found the cottages while wandering around on the Inn side of Boardwalk during Covid. That whole side was closed so it was kind of spooky. If you walk through Belle Vue lounge, past the elevators and out the door, you will be in the courtyard where the cottages are. There is another pool back there as well.

DD (adult) and I will be at BWV in about 6 weeks. We DEFINITELY will explore. Stayed at BWI twice before purchasing DVC but didn't walk around. Thanks again.

We asked for a memory foam topper for the pull out couch and they had it on the folded up bed when we checked in. It pretty much makes sitting on the couch impossible as a couch - it doesn't close right and is angled :P but we had 2 16 yr olds sleep on it and they thought it was ok.
