Reason for less elevators on the Wish?

Is there a reason that Disney cut the elevator stations from three down to only two on the Wish?
Money savings tatic or what?

Right. Maybe it will work out better than I figured.
Time will tell, do guests prefer less walking time to elevators or prefer less congested elevators (which is usually only a real issue on em/debarkation days?)

Having an aft elevator bank on Dream/Fantasy created limitations with restaurants, the buffet and any other venue located at the back of the ship. I always found it strange that you were able to get into Cabanas from the middle of the venue, between two food displays. It seemed simply imported from Magic/Wonder without much thought.

At first I thought it was negative, but I don't think there is a problem with only 2 sets of elevators/stairs. The aft set is really between aft & midship, so the walk to the stateroom was pretty long for those far-aft rooms. But, there are more elevators and they can fit more stuff on the ship with only 2 sets. Once you get comfortable with the layout, you forget the lack of a 3rd set of elevators. I liked all 3 restaurants being aft and that is only possible by eliminating some elevators.

Most able-bodied people can but do they want too? Granted the stairs on cruise ships are easy to do because they’re actually not that high and they go fast. But I’m a fit person and honestly I have no problem going up two or three flights of stairs without taking the elevator- five floors - na I’m pushing that elevator button

Neither my husband nor I have ever taken an elevator on DCL (I'm 60 & he's 70 but both extremely fit), we prefer the stairs. By the time you wait for the elevator get on, go up or down to the floor you wanted, you could have walked and arrived already. Mind you, for anyone with mobility issues, I can absolutely understand how the lack of mid-ship elevators are a problem (amongst other things on the Wish).

Not having midship elevators isn’t that weird to me - there are plenty of other lines out there that just have forward and aft elevators. However the Wish’s aft elevators don’t seem very aft and that walk to the far aft staterooms looks long.

We had a room on the MV that was very aft - 8678 - and the walk to the room was long. We don't use the elevators as we prefer to walk the stairs, but the walk to the aft rooms is still quite long from the nearest stairs because they are more midship than aft. For people with mobility issues or strollers, I would not recommend an aft room.

Can't be more than 1,119 since that is how long the Wish is.
