Have a Delta question.

I had Delta Gold, downgraded to the regular Blue No Fee Card a few years ago. Got an offer to upgrade to Gold again, 40k miles for like $2000 spend, no fee for first year and did that. I booked a flight with Miles for June travel. Delta changed me 1st leg of return trip that made it impossible to make connecting flight. I just called (after an hour+ on chat last night to no avail) to move our 2nd leg to a later time that worked. ANYWAY, in reviewing my itinerary just now, it's showing me as Silver Medallion.....but I'm not. I haven't traveled on Delta since pre-covid and barely used either Amex (outside of the MSR). My husband's fare was booked with cash + Venture X travel credit (he's not showing Silver).

I'm confused. I did notice that the phone rep said something about being eligible to upgrade to first class, but I didn't even think about it. Is this some weird 1 time status?

Anyone have this happen?
delta had mqm roll over since 2020 could it be possible you got it from flying? I'm platinum this year because of it, I just need to hit the AMEX minimum spend. Silver is pretty easy to get with say 2 international flight in business.

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me. I'm currently 4/24 and need a MSR, I'm tired of just using my cards as actual cards lol and not toward a bonus. What I have gotten in the past 18 months are:

CSP
AMEX Gold
Chase United
Chase IHG

I have hit all those bonuses and I'm not sure what I want to get into next. I'm really hesitant to go for a Business card because a. I don't want to be denied, and b. the high MSR scares me a bit. I keep getting Amex offers, but I know that'll put me at 5/24. Is there another non-biz Chase card I should look at?

Thanks!
What about BA?

Any ideas why the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport would let me book a Thurs/Fri on points but not just the Fri? I called and the lady and her manager tried to make it work. He only suggestion was to call the hotel and I don't know that they would do anything. I want to use my FNC for one night and points for the other. It expires in May and I have 0 use for it outside this trip. Is it worth calling the hotel directly to see what they can do?

It's also totally my fault that I leave next Thursday and just now looked at reviews for the HP Phx North I did book and it has terrible reviews. But I also didn't think I needed to actually read reviews for a hyatt, but dirty rooms and pot smelling rooms with no response from the property on any comments makes me not want to stay there.

I could pick somewhere else, but this is an even swap of points. I also don't want to pay parking downtown, I'm not globalist.
I had that issue with Hyatt in Vancouver. I ended up booking both nights, then calling the property and telling them I couldn't make the first night. They were able to cancel just the first night. Not sure if it's a glitch or intentional.

So another personal card will put you at 5/24, which will also block you out of getting any Chase business cards until you come back under. I made that mistake myself. There are quite a few biz cards that don't have very high MSRs. Amex biz cards are fairly easy to acquire

Received my Away suitcases today. I know I am in the minority here, but I have already reboxed them and requested a refund. I was disappointed in the quality. It felt so cheap, even for the discounted price I paid. The wheels also acted up a little up when I tried out the medium, and that is one of the features they highlight in their marketing. I also did not like the color (more muted than the website photos), and do not care for the clam shell design at all. Also, the handle frame took up a lot of room on the inside. There is no way I could get as much in the large carry on as I can in my old Briggs Riley soft side.

I didn't even need the bigger one, only bought it because of the $200 credit. I am going to continue using my larger suitcase which is like new because I rarely use it. I will take the amount I paid for both of these bags (add some more) and invest in another high end soft side carry on.

ETA: The one positive I can say about the Away bags is that they are lightweight.

The Twitter handle is HyattConcierge.

Hotels do weird things with their award availability sometimes. Though a bit surprising for an airport hotel. I hear the Andaz Maui at one point had a 10 night min! Of course the cash rates don't have that. But when you go look for an award, none shows up unless you do 10 nights.

I think they still require that, but maybe it's date dependent? I have a friend heading there this summer for 10 nights because that's the shortest trip they were allowed to book.

We have used B&R expandable carryons for over 10 years now and I love mine, but it's hard to drag it long distances on carpet (I have had issues in some larger airports when making a tight connection) so I was debating Away, but got a big points bonus on a Rimowa so went for that instead. I haven't used it yet because I'm still on the fence about this purchase. DH and DD thought about using the Away deal but their B&Rs are still working so well they decided they would just pass. I have a lot of FOMO on not getting one with the Chase deal though.

From what I can see for ISP/MCO flights they haven’t adjusted the schedule for 6/7 ….

Have you noticed any adjustments yet?

Anyone have any SW flights moved after 6/11? Just wondering at what point I am 'safe' from being bumped. LOL.

Spent the long weekend in Cabo for a getaway we planned just a few weeks ago. Just DH and I and our two youngest kids, 8 and 12. Last month I shared a trip report of my husband and I solo at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabo Pedregal and we repeated the experience with the kids.

This resort is 120k per night, but doesn't have a room which sleeps 4 for standard award availability, so they told me to book the standard room and I could pay a $200/nt upgrade cost for 2 queen beds instead of a king. I was willing to do it because of their incredible service, the amazing grounds and location and the balcony plunge pool. Once booked, they were kind enough to waive the upgrade fee. The first night, our balcony plunge pool had a minor maintenance issue and because maintenance couldn't rectify it, they went above and beyond and upgraded us to a 3200 square foot Casita. Sleeps 10, 4 balconies, 4 baths, full kitchen, living and dining room, grassy area, sun loungers, outdoor dining and it's own infinity pool. Just absolutely, unbelievably ridiculous. We barely ever left our newfound paradise. Best upgrade I've ever gotten and will probably ever get. We were blown away and super grateful. Their new favorite activities are lounging in their kid sized robes and getting golf cart rides from bell services, like they are Uber.

We did a private whale watching tour with Whale Watch Cabo and it was our best experience yet. They have marine biologists as their guides and are as responsible about whale watching as you can be. My kids learned a ton and we even saw a momma and her cow. The cow breached- it was so spectacular.

I'm considering booking Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa (Miramar Beach, FL) for April break with DH, DD14, DS13 and DS10. I've never been to that part of Florida.
Any feedback on the hotel? Other things to do in the area? How are the beaches?
Thanks!

I live about an hour from there...the beaches in our part of Florida are gorgeous! Miramar/Sandestin has lots of shopping, golf, and of course beach stuff. I've never been to the hotel since it's close(ish) to home but have an acquaintance who has an annual trip there and really enjoys it.

Came back to show you this i saw on delta sub reddit, seems to be a glitch.

At 12+months out, looks like it's 3 night min now. But could still be season dependent.

The advice I always see about the 10 night min is to book it and then contact Hyatt to shorten. I tried that with a Ventana reservation that had a 3 night min for weekends on the standard rooms (didn't apply to the suites), but was told they would need to contact the hotel. Just as well, I think I'll enjoy 3 nights. :) Trying to book another stay for next year, but seems they haven't released any award availability for 2023. I wonder if they're waiting for the category change.

ahhhh ok! I’ve only been looking at Chase biz cards, duh! Does Amex scrutinize the biz apps? I sell on eBay, that’s it.

Not at all. Since you're an existing customer, they may not even hard pull you. Instant approval is very likely. You'd apply as a sole proprietor and use your name as the business name.

If you have use for Hilton points, the Hilton biz is at 130k plus a free night certificate for $3000 spend ($95 AF). A P2 can support you from any Amex (except a non-Hilton cobrand) for additional points.

Really common for people on here to have eBay type biz revenue and get approved. I wouldn't sweat it at all.

I can't recall what kind of rewards you are looking for but the Hilton biz card has an elevated sub that comes with a FNC, which is very unusual. If you go the Amex route and don't have a P2 support link, consider grabbing one from DISchurners. Good luck- let us know how it goes.

Hi! New here. We currently use the Chase Amazon card. I try and put all bills on it and pay it off every month. Our last trip I was able to apply $1100.00 to our trip after saving!!! Going to do it again. Our trips were almost 3 years apart...we'd like to go yearly😊 back to reading about the best cards!!

Grabbed 5 nights at the Conrad Bora Bora when FM reported that award availability was wide open (only lasted a day). Added in Moorea, Raiatea, and Huahine. An Air Tahiti Pass to include those islands was about the same as roundtrip Tahiti to Bora Bora.

Anyone ever been and have recommendations for me?

Well done! I also grabbed 4 nights at the Conrad Bora Bora and 3 nights at IHG Le Moana Bora Bora booked for next week. Oddly enough, I am hoping to cancel this trip tomorrow LOL I booked it as a back up trip in case our cruise tomorrow was cancelled. This is unlikely of course, but at the time we booked this backup trip, cruises were getting cancelled. Now I am holding on to it in case one of our traveling party, (there are 10 of us) tests positive at the port and we aren't able to board the ship. If that happens, I will figure out the flights and have some time to do that. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip! If I do get to board the Disney Wonder tomorrow and cancel Bora Bora, I will definitely be rebooking it for 2023 more than likely.

Has anyone received the referral bonus for Venture X? If so, how long did it take after the person you referred was approved?
I’ve received 2 so far. Both bonuses posted on the 2nd of the month (one in Feb and one in March). One person applied mid Jan, the other applied Jan 29. The person who is applying cannot have any other Capital one cards in order for you to get the support bonus. Capital One said it could take up to 2 billing cycles for the 25,000 bonus points to show up.
