Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Can you go into Epcot and do mobile order of food and alcoholic beverages and bring back to your room at beach club. I think it’s just closed containers but I was thinking maybe from France and the drinks there you could easily bring it back in less then 15 mins?
You aren't permitted to carry alcohol out of the park. It's odd because you can buy a drink anywhere on the Boardwalk and carry it to Epcot, but not through the gate. You can buy a drink in Epcot, but not carry it through the gate. Same with HS.

Thanks I saw that with google search but I read about what you said about boardwalk and was confused that doesn’t make sense. I thought maybe that entry at world showcase there would be an exception.

I did more digging with food I can but there’s not many table service restaurants at Epcot doing mobile carry out orders. I’m the good runner for family so I’ll be moving quick in and out. Maybe I can get some beverages at bosrdwalk and bring them over.

You could also get alcoholic beverages at Hurricane Hannah's. I'm the food runner too and I've actually gotten food from festival booths and carried it back to YC! I carried ziploc bags with me, slipped the food inside, and stacked it in my park backpack . Everything made it relatively unscathed.

Probably a stupid question, but where do you pick up refillable mugs at Yacht Club? Do you have to go over to Beach Club Marketplace?
There is a quick service location at Yacht Club called The Marketplace at Ale and Compass. It is located next to the main elevators. They sell the mugs there. They also have a menu and serve hot food and cold food.

Does anyone know if there are certain dates that the Yacht Club is excluded from the "save $500 on a 5-night stay" offer? I started searching on the day the offer was released and was not able to find any availability for our travel dates (3/26-4/3). Should I keep searching up to our trip dates, or is it hopeless? (We are currently doing a split stay with BCV and AKL but would switch some or all of those dates to YC if the prices worked out.)

:welcome:

Keep looking for the discounted YC rooms, but it would probably be a stroke of luck to get one- as others have indicated they are in high demand and very few are offered for discounts for that reason.

I will add your BCV/AKL dates to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:goodvibes:

Okay, we waffled back and forth, went as far as booking Wilderness Lodge...but we remembered the past 2 trips where didn't stay at Yacht/Beach, all we wanted to do was switch hotels to Yacht/Beach. 😂

Just rebooked our WL stay to Beach Club - 4/18/23-4/27/23! We're finally coming back where we belong!!!

Honestly, nothing can beat the walk Epcot for us. Nothing. :D

I totally agree!

I'll add your dates to the guest list.

:thumbsup2

We completely agree! Last year, we wanted to try a new resort - so I added two nights at the front of our trip to try out Wilderness Lodge(my principal ONLY stays there and she raves about it). While it was nice, it wasn't the Beach Club and we couldn't wait to check in there! Then we had a last minute airline change(out of our control) and had to add a night that Beach Club couldn't accommodate, so we booked one night at Coronado Springs - Gran Destino Tower. Again, lovely but definitely not our vibe! We wanted something just a tiny bit different this trip, so we booked Yacht Club, knowing we've been through there, it's connected to Beach Club, it shares the pool and is walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios...we are really excited about it! You are absolutely right - NOTHING beats the walk to Epcot!!! :)

:welcome:

I'll add your trip to the list!

Question, does Yacht club give out toothbrushes as do CSR?

If Disney classifies you as a VIP, you receive upgraded (additional) toiletries, including a toothbrush, razor, etc.; not sure if the changes since the pandemic changed that practice, however.

As noted above, toothbrushes are not part of the customary toiletry package at the resort. Has anyone tried requesting a toothbrush from housekeeping or the front desk if you have forgotten one?

😁

Do some of the water view rooms at YC have the couch daybed? Can you request a room with the 2 queens/daybed setup? I'm booking for a family of 4 but the two teens want their own bed. I know it's not a guarantee to request, but I'm just trying to see if my chances are good?

:welcome:

I'm not sure of the percentage, but definitely make this your (only) room request for better odds.
You can always request a room change even after you have been assigned as long as you haven't started settling into the room.

I haven't read ahead to see others' comments, but in the past, the resort has provided a roll-in cot upon request. The charge for this has not been consistent- sometimes free, sometimes a per night fee.

When is your trip?

8-)

As my response stated to Farro, I just switched us over (originally was booked WL CL) to the YC for our 3 nights prior to our cruise in October. Our boys are 29, and 25 so I figured by adding a park hopper (which at first we where not going to do, but staying at YC I just had to add that on!) they might love hopping over to Epcot after the parks of the day have been explored (we chose reservations for MK and DHS). Now I booked them into a Standard Club level room, and Hubby and I into a water view CL room. (I am hoping to look out my window and see the dock/lighthouse and crescent lake, I love that view!) ....if we want a room for our boys near us, should I pay the $400 or so difference and upgrade them to a water view too?? / Or perhaps a garden view for a couple hundred more?? I'm pretty sure they won't care for their room view too much, but I'd like them to be not too far away from us. I am excited to FINALLY try the YC :)
Thanks for the help!
ETA PS..... NATEBENMA can you please add me to the list? YC CL Oct 6-9, 2022 :) Thank You!!!

Will do!

Hi everyone! Headed back to BC March 3-7 with park days being 4-6. It’s just me and the kids 10 & 12. The hubby is going on a business trip and said you should take the kids to Disney! Lol umm ok you don’t have to say that twice! It’s our second stay at the BC. We were last at Disney February 2020. Really looking forward to this mom and kids trip!

Good Morning, Dee! Will you please add me for YC CL 3/3-3/4? Traveling with DH, DS16, and DD14

Page 1952

I have 3 nights discounted water view June 5-8. I messed around with a lot of June dates but nothing before 5/30. That is the only time frame I found for Yacht. AKL had the most availability. Grand Floridian and Boardwalk also had some promo dates. I was looking for a WDW backup if we have to cancel our 1st family Disneyland trip over spring break to due my husband’s work commitments. When I saw Yacht on promo, I scooped it up.

Thanks for sharing your experience about getting a discounted YC room. I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

We land at 5:45 pm on Thursday night. Using Tony Hinds car service, no stops, to get us to BC. What is a realistic time to make dinner reservations? Thinking we could just drop or bags and go. I’ve been trying for beaches and cream but it’s currently booked. I’d like to stay in the boardwalk area. Nothing too late it’s just kids (10&12) and I. We have a full day planned at HS the next day.

Great options suggested below

Your plan for takeout or walk in at Ale & Compass is a great one, or trying The Fountain as others have suggested is an intriguing option. I have never dined there.

::yes::

We take a Tiffany Town car service to YC every trip. Usually land anywhere from 8:30- 10:30 am. We’re 2 adults & are always row 7 or lower. We’re off the plane quick but do wait for checked luggage. We are usually pulling into YC about an hour after landing. However, I never make an ADR sooner than 2- 2.5 hours after landing. What if you’re in the back of the plane or your flight is delayed? 5:45 arrival might put you in rush hour traffic traveling to BC, no idea how much that will add to travel time.

Have you considered quick service instead of making a reservation? BC marketplace is pretty decent. Boardwalk Bakery has some nice sandwiches. And there is a fountain place at the Dolphin that’s similar to B&C. It’s walk in & has a nice variety. You can also order take out from Ale & Compass. You can even pick a time slot & put in your order earlier in the day. You check in & they make your order at the scheduled time. Then you can take your food back to your room, outside or to one of the tables at Beach Club solarium.

Thank you for your detailed and very helpful response!

:thanks:

If you think you might like Beaches & Cream, I agree with PP - try the Fountain restaurant at the Dolphin.

The Swan & Dolphin has its own app. It has menus and, more importantly, updated hours for the restaurants.

If you download it, you can tap on I AM ON PROPERTY.
Then tap on RESTAURANTS.
Then tap on CASUAL RESTAURANTS.
Then scroll down to The Fountain.

AFAIK, the Fountain does not take reservations. The Swan/Dolphin restaurants which take reservations are in the Signature Restaurants section, and have an Open Table Reservation button in the restaurant description.

Excellent info!

:thanks:

And charge up your portable cell phone chargers!

(I buy them for use at Disney World, but I make sure they are charged whenever we are supposed to get a big storm at home, in case the power goes out. Fortunately, this storm is supposed to miss us.)

I had to purchase one of those fuel rod thingies on my August trip. I had the wrong charging wire for my new phone so I needed the correct adaptor. So now I have the rod, and it is very convenient for travel (and storm outages)

Our June 2022 BC/BLT split is now a YC/BC/BLT split! I found our first couple of nights available under the YC discount that was released for summer, so moved the beginning there, followed by BC. I figure it should be a pretty easy move. And it's a nice compromise. We've never stayed at YC before, but DS has been begging to for years. However, DD's favorite resort is BC and the rest of us love it too, so we've never been able to bring ourselves to jump over to the YC side. This allows us to try YC and still have BC to look forward to immediately after. This will be our 3rd triple split stay in a row, but the difference is I had a baby in April, so will be the first time with a very little one in tow (our older kids will be 14 and almost 12 when we go). 😬 Wish us luck!

I'll adjust the Be Our Guest list info for your stay. Congrats on the new addition. Hope you have an incredibly magical stay!

:goodvibes

Just booked our September trip. We will be doing a split stay at AKL & YC. Our DD & her fiance will be joining us for the first few days at AKL. We will be finishing off the trip at YC just DH & I. We went with a water view room. I'm really hoping for a view of BWI.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

Thanks so much, Best Aunt! This was exactly what I was wondering about. I looked at some video reviews of the two room types, but couldn't really get a sense of how limited the floor space might be (and thank you for reminding me of the storage issue as well--we like to unpack, so the kids get dressed faster). We stayed at Pop once, and it drove my husband crazy that we didn't have a table when the Murphy bed was down.

I switched to YC! Also looking forward to room updates and earlier check-in time (we're landing at noon).

Thanks again!

I'll adjust your info on the list.

Preparing all the last minute things before we leave makes the trip feel SO real and so close!! Getting my nails done and running errands today and tomorrow and the excitement is setting in so much now. Just have to get through two more days of work before Sunday!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:
(Edit: thought I was positing in the Feb thread but we’re staying at the BC CL so it’s relevant here too lol)

Have a fantastic trip!

Not allowed.

One of our regulars on this thread used to have a motto: Take a container or chug the remainder. Will you have a refill mug for this trip?

:drinking1

Thanks I saw that with google search but I read about what you said about boardwalk and was confused that doesn’t make sense. I thought maybe that entry at world showcase there would be an exception.

I love doing takeout from the quick service places at the World Showcase and The Land. My favorite foods on property. They aren't necessarily equipped for that. I found the biggest issue was most places didn't have a bag for carrying multiple items, so I bring my own with me. A handled shopping bag, either paper or reusable, would be perfect.

I will never forget doing that on a really hot day. I got food from Morocco while my DH and kids went to France to pick up some sandwiches. The CMs would not allow my family to purchase a creme brulee because they knew it was for takeout and said it wouldn't travel well.

:faint:

Just checked into our room at the BC!!! The room is immaculate and smells really clean lol. There is plenty of space for just us two but would absolutely accommodate a family of 4-5. We are staying CL so I’m not sure if the rooms are larger or not. We have a full balcony which I’m super excited about. And I included pics of the robes and slippers since I know many here love having them offered 😍 I’ll share our room number once we leave

Dee,
After I had to cancel DL trip last week, I went through multiple incarnations of WDW dates. I was actually able to play around quite a bit with YC promo dates with garden and water view availability, so no more June 5-8. We settled on June 7-11 at YC with our beloved water view.

My son turns 17 the week before, and it is a belated 50th bash for me! Spent 40 at GF, but we are now 2 states later and current school district doesn’t have a mid April break. We are also celebrating 10 years with no cancer! In 2012 I had just finished ACT chemo and radiation, so I have to make this a double event as well. I would love to have some stickers:love2:

Does anyone have a copy of the Feb activities schedule?

@Wood Nymph- can you post here or send it to me after you arrive? Have a fantastic trip.

They no longer put the activity schedule on a large poster in the lobby. You can get a printed one now. :)

Feb activity schedule

The weather is in the 60's but that didn't stop people from enjoying SAB.
We are here at the Yacht Club. We had a good experience with Mears Connect. We got to the bus around 10 am, there were only five of us on the bus and it made only two stops, YC and BC. YC was the first stop. Our room wasn't ready yet so we headed into Epcot for some food. Our room was ready at noon, so it all worked out well. We booked a garden view room and have a nice sideways view of Crescent Lake. I'll give more details later. :)

Let me know if you have any questions. :)

That’s how I remember it! Going back in Dec after 3 years being away!! Take some pictures of what is being served if you can! I’m hearing that new items have been added from previous years. I will be able to tell if it’s different

We are booked to stay at the Yacht Club in November for the first time. We are usually Poly people, but I really wanted to try and Epcot Area resort. My DH is very worried that he isn't going to like the Yacht Club and wants to switch back to the Poly, but there is nothing available there.

I thought about maybe upgrading to Club Level to make it seem a little more "special." It will add about $1500 to our trip. I'm just not sure having access to the lounge is worth that much more money. Those who love to stay Club Level - sell me on it!!
I got to stay at one club level before. My kids are now 17, 15 and still talk about how wonderful it was. They were 12,10 it was so convenient for us.
