Tried to add Genie + to my AP at Midnight and 6AM on the App, couldn’t

What am I doing wrong?? My DDs I pre-bought because they had tickets.*. The App kept taking me to purchasing tickets even thought I have an AP and am clicking the “purchase Genie +” link.

My DD was able to add Genie +but only after 7AM. So we are not on TT together and my DH and I are quite late.

Where on the app can I purchase Genie + at midnight?

Some others have reported this glitch. I’m sorry it’s not clear why this is affecting some AP holders. All you can do is take screenshots and open a ticket with Disney IT.
 
Had my question answered by a guest relations member. I was searching on the App for Disney Genie + instead I was supposed go to the “My Genie Day” scroll to the bottom and click Upgrade.

I’ll do it tonight and take a picture. Hope that helps someone.
 
We had very similar issues in Oct. Both DW and I have AP and we struggled with getting it to register with my AP. I tried after midnight and again early in the morning. I had to call in to try to get it straightened out. Was on the call for about 1-1/2 hrs as they tried various ways to make it work. Talked to them the entire walk from BW through DHS tap style. It was only after tapping in that it registered on my ticket. It was early on in the Genie deployment and everything was still new. Was hoping that this would be resolved by now. Believe I also got double charged for that day as both of us tried to purchase and then another purchase went through when I was on the phone with services. Best of luck.
 
In my personal (current, as in I'm at Disney right now) AP can NOT purchase Genie+ if they have someone in their party with tickets and Genie+ added for the length of tickets.

I bought 4 day tickets with Genie+ included for DD. We were not able to add Genie to our AP until 7AM on any day which DD had a ticket. Her tickets ended on Sunday and starting Monday we have been able add Genie to our AP at midnight.

That is the glitch exactly. My DD’s had tickets with Genie + attached. I had to wait until 7AM to purchase Genie + for our AP’s on those days.

You never could purchase genie + until 7:00am? This will be our situation in a couple weeks. The delay of purchasing genie + at 7:00 could significantly affect our lightening lane times!

We’re in the same boat. Definitely regretting pre-purchasing G+ for my family’s tickets thinking it would make things easier. 🤦‍♀️
 
Oh lord, we have AP's and our friends visiting with us have tickets with G+ for our MLK weekend visit. Can CM's at the resort front desk help add G+ for me and my husband before 7am? Or can we call before 7am? Yikes, this makes me nervous!

Has anyone here had a mix of AP and regular tickets w/ G+ pre-purchased and was able to successfully purchase G+ for the AP's before 7am without issue??

Nope, never. Not while those 4 day tickets were valid. As soon as their tickets were done (DH and I stayed 5 more days) we could have bought at midnight.

That said, even though it was super busy, delaying the purchase of our Genie+ the 2 days I did it really didn't impact anything. We got the rides we needed when we wanted them just fine. It had no impact on buying the Individual LL passes.

I haven't seen anyone say they were able to. I think it's just an unintended issue. I did speak with a CL CM briefly about several issues with some of the changes and folks who travel in mixed parties (AP/Tickets), including the Genie+ purchase problem. The CM did mention that since this is all so new that these issues being reported could be fixed, especially with enough noise around them.

I found it more annoying that even though we were all booked on the same Resort reservation we couldn't all make our park reservations together. They need to give an option for anyone all on the same reservation, regardless of ticket type, can book their reservations together. Resort reservations should trump everything and put you all in the same category.
 
I had a similar "unable to purchase " glitch on one day last week. The button was purple and would not let me select. Here is my advice.....
The solution to all genie + problems is to Uninstall the app and reload it. (Android hates this app with a passion) Genie + has more glitches than ROTR. 🤣
Once you figure out all the tricks you are going to love it.

I don't know if anyone can help you before 7AM. Front desk and concierge CM's have the same info and system you do.

The only problem we had was it did delay our first afternoon late one by a bit but when the park opened we could all get the 2nd one at the same time.
 
I was there between Christmas and New Years. Three members of my party had annual passes and the rest of us had tickets with genie + purchased in advance. I was never able to add genie + to the annual passes on the app. Each morning usually around 6:30 am, I would call (407) 939-4357 and select option 1, a cast member was able to add genie + for the annual passes before 7:00 am. Then I could make my selections at 7:00 am for the whole party. It was a pain to have to call every morning but was never on the phone for more than 5 minutes and I was able to handle this before 7:00 am. I was told that for some reason annual passes and genie weren't getting along.

I can assure you and anyone else that the solution to the AP/ticket with genie included issue is not solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the app

Wouldn’t have me either. Every other phone number at Disney have several hour waits. Including the private VIP tour number. Even folks who are going to spend thousands can’t get through. Amazing that this line has no wait. Can they do anything other than add genie?
