BeeperMD test results

Anyone read the complaints about the Switch Health tests on their Facebook page???? YIKES!!!
Makes me nervous about them now too, even though their tests are out of stock. I'm thinking the Walgreens is the best alternative.

Just read them. Yikes. Ok now I’m thinking booking BeeperMD (maybe we will be lucky) with another back up.

It’s a lot of money to be shelling out with chance of a faulty device etc.

I'm sorry so many people are having issues with BeeperMD now, we had a great experience with them. I am hoping by March I won't need to worry about it. But it seems Walgreens (at least in Orlando area) is a good choice.

Ya and there's nothing they can really do if you get down there and your test is faulty. And it sounds like there is absolutely no customer service when you run into any issues. Also sounds like lots of people aren't getting their required number of tests. Then what do you do if you only get 1 of 4 tests ordered and then they won't take the 1 back?

Yeah. I’m willing to risk BeeperMD cause it won’t cost me anything. But shelling out that much money and have it fail would suck.

I think I’m going to book BeeperMD and if it doesn’t work just go to one of the places that offers the paid rapid PCR tests. At this point I’ve just accepted that we may have to pay$$$

That's exactly my thinking - we're heading down for the week between Christmas and New Years and already have BeeperMD booked. I highly doubt we'll be able to get an appointment at Walgreens if it falls through so we're just going to have to suck it up and pay if that happens.

It would be nice if the government would accept a rapid test but they don't, so it is what it is.

Well the one place that offers rapid PCR is at the premium outlets. So we can always combine our tests with some shopping 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You could also book Walgreens when they open up and then just cancel if BeeperMD shows up.

This is our plan exactly.. I booked BeeperMD but I think they may end up being the "Backup", thinking the Walgreens ID now tests would make the last few days of our vacation less stressful by knowing in a few hours, not a few days..
Honestly whether you have Walgreens, CVS, BeeperMD, Switch, "Insert Name Here" Booked and don't have a backup plan your causing yourself more stress then its worth..
I'm going to throw a wild guess and say come late spring/early summer this might not be an issue. Kids will be vaxxed, Adults Booster Shots, we will have almost a year of data en mass what the "endemic" may look like. Fingers Crossed

I'm going to try, but with us being there during the 'busiest' week in Florida I highly doubt I'll be able to.

I've just accepted I'll be paying for testing at this point.

There are about 5 different Walgreens that are pretty easy to get to from WDW. If you experiment beforehand, you can determine when they add on their new appointments and try to be online for that specific time.

This may be a stupid question but on the BeeperMD site when it asks appointment type, there are 3 PCR type tests listed but only one says it is free:
1) PCR Screening FREE
2) PCR=Expedite $150
3) Rapid PCR test $399

Which one is the correct one that will be accepted to come back home but free as well?

The free PCR screening is the correct one. The more expensive options are for quicker results, and Antigen tests are not accepted by Canada.

Has anyone paid extra for the no window/1 hour window? Seems like a lot of issues are happening when people are selecting the free 2-hour window, I'm hoping by paying the extra amount they'll show up.

We just had another great experience with Beeper. They did move our time slot up by 2 hours, which also happened last time so my big mistake was not leaving the entire day free as a pool day or Disney Springs day. That would have made things far less stressful as I was watching the clock constantly and checking Genie+ and watching wait times increase.

We did our tests in the lobby of Wilderness Lodge and got our results in 2 hours. We did have backups at Walgreens which I cancelled the night before when I got a text confirmation from Beeper for my next day's appointment.

think next time (what am I saying? Hopefully this testing madness will be over by the time I go back in 1 year!) I would just stick with the Walgreens appt and really make the whole day a relaxed day with no ADRs or parks. We always have a car and it is nice to have it completely in your control.

Between the testing and messing with MDE and Genie+ and Disney IT I am so ready to turn my brain off and take a vacation from my vacation.

I sent them an email asking about the pay for window option; they said it's like all the other appointments and not guaranteed. Thought I read if they don't come during that time, they would refund the amount -- but that wasn't stated in the email response I got from them.

And we, unfortunately, had a poor experience.
We were booked for a test last Wednesday, from 5-7. This was planned to be just inside our 72-hour period.
When I had not heard from them the day before, I called and they said the appointment would take place as scheduled.
The next day was a pool day, but by 6 p.m. we had not heard from them and I called to ask where the tester was. They said the individual had a personal emergency, and so would not be coming.
They never contacted us to let us know.
I rescheduled for 8 a.m. the next day, but first thing received a text saying that the test would now be at 12:40. This then cut our available time, and I asked about purchasing the expedited service. However the assigned tester did not have the required equipment, and so they said in order to get this we would have to schedule an entirely different appointment.
They could not provide any assurance about timing to receive the test results.
In the end, we cancelled altogether. We booked an 11 a.m. test by covidtestingllc.com at the Premium Outlets near Universal ($17 Lyft ride from Saratoga), paid $175 US (on sale!) and received our results in 30 minutes.

Has anyone used or heard anything about CVS in Florida? Looking at CVS now and it appears they only offer day-of appointments but maybe using that as a back-up plan for Wallgreen's.

ETA: Doesn't look like day-of only, I just forgot that it's T-Giving weekend in the US and so there are no apts from Wed -Sat. I'm assuming that *this* will keep most internationals away though.
