Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun!

I really wish this was how the CR looked when we stayed there (2015)! Actually one of the main issues for me was that the CR lobby and other places there looked like a generically nice hotel, not something unique to Disney. I’ve always loved low-slung “mid-century” design and furnishings and this looks great!

When we use to stay at WL or FW we would boat to CR to utilize the monorail to head to GF or Poly. I always thought CR had such a great location & unique set up with the monorail. However, the lobby & decor never drew me in to want to stay there the way other resorts have. And as much time as we spent at the resort when the girls were younger, that mattered to me. . . .

I like the color the changes are adding.

Someone posted a beautiful pic of Aurora on here recently. . .but those monstrosities were in the back ground. All I could think was they ruined the shot.

That's what Photoshop is for, LOL! I'm interested in seeing the Stargate in person...

Does anyone else think it is dumb to close down this film for F&W? I wanted to see this on our late October trip but instead they are selling apple food and beverages. Ugh.

I thought it was a very odd choice at first, for sure. But then Craig mentioned on one of the recent disunplugged videos that he was talking to a friend who worked in Epcot (I think - there was some connection to Epcot anyway) and that the reason they added food booths to places like Canada Far and Wide and the American Adventure rotunda wasn't just some plot to monetize those spaces. It was actually a recognition that there often aren't enough spaces to stop and eat during F & W - especially indoors in the AC, and that opening these spaces as food booths helps mitigate that problem. I'm as cynical as the next person when it comes to Disney's motives these days, but that actually made sense to me.

As it's now appears Canada Far and Wide will be reopened during the upcoming Festival of the Holidays, it seems that might actually have been the motivation. There are less food booths for that festival and the temperature is much more pleasant, so having the extra indoor dining spots isn't as necessary.

I am sorry you missed it the show, though. It's pretty good, though I do miss the Martin Short version. The new one is pretty, but kind of dry.
