STEAKHOUSE 71!!

Bummed about the loss of the breakfast buffet, but otherwise breakfast menu looks “Disney typical boring,” nothing special. Lunch looks good but on both the lunch and dinner menu I’m disappointed there’s not a better salad option. A lot of folks don’t like blue cheese!

They have a Caesar salad too.

I'm on the no blue cheese bandwagon as well. Something with some real leafy greens would be nice as well.

I'm happy for those who were waiting for this, but wow, they can turn a restaurant over in just under 2 month, but can't accept ADRs or publish a menu for the flagship atop the building that presumably needed no renovation (CaGrill)? Additionally, they can't seem to publish a menu or ADRs for a concept they've delayed for 2 years and plan to open in 7 days (S220). Seems par for the course these days....
I also shed a small tear for SH55 when I read about the change as they ended the best breakfast in all of Disneyland. I guess the universe could not handle both SH55 and SH71 at the same time.

p.s. the "Bacon and Eggs" just might be on the agenda for our early October trip...:)

Right!!! I am going to be at WDW in November and I love CA Grill - it's a must every trip. And while I was interested to see the menu for SH71, I'm bummed that they are stopping reservations for CA Grill which already is amazing (like you pointed out - I can't imagine why it needs a reno), to create a new experience for the 50th Celebration. Why didn't they do that before October 1 or have it better communicated how long it will be closed, when it will reopen, and what this new experience is even going to be? I know it sounds silly but I'm a huge Disney-foodie so may rebook my trip in January to have better chances with ADRs and the restaurants I want to try at least be open. I was just about to search the Dis to see if I can even find some rumors on a CA Grill reopening!

I thought the plan was they were just changing the Cali menu for the 50th, but it won’t be closed.

The website says "California Grill is currently unavailable for bookings after October 2 as we create a special dining experience for the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort."

I was reading another thread speculating (clearly just theories) that they will revise the menu to be prix fixe....I so hope that isn't the case! I absolutely love CA Grill's menu. Plus it's already a signature restaurant with a high PP and it's always booked. But I guess prix fixe will probably increase profits even more! I just hope those guesses are wrong and it really is just something fun for the 50th celebration???

BACON & EGGGGGGGSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
My family will be so happy!! We are doing a Monorail Crawl to celebrate DD21 being "legal" for her first time in WDW. The Wave Lounge was going to be one of our stops. We've been in limbo ever since they closed The Wave & it's lounge.... waiting and waiting for this announcement
Thanks for posting. Gonna text everyone now with the happy news!

oh me too! I don’t want prix fixe! I wonder if they are trying to get rid of people just doing desserts for fireworks?

Are kids allowed? No kid menu. Hmmmmm.
And kids get to be creative with their meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They can choose an entrée, select two sides, and a drink from a menu that includes oatmeal with dried cranberries and Mickey-shaped waffles for breakfast and PBJ wings and cheeseburgers for lunch and dinner. They can even create their own ice cream sundae!

Pulled that from the website so it looks like kids are allowed. It is kind of weird not to have a kid menus though.

Like the menu. I liked the Wave but it was mostly a cocktail event for Me. My only disapp is no oysters. I shouldn’t be surprised though most restaurants at WDW are oysterless

The menu looks good, but don't get the 10 day dry aged pork, but not any dry aged beef.
