As @niccikatie said, Celebrity is great. Can't comment on kids though. We did it without our son in April outside of a holiday. Plus, it was a 9 night SC that left from San Juan. We were on Summit and loved it. The passengers were generally incredibly friendly. The staff was amazing. The ship didn't feel huge at all. We have never done the classic DCL ships so can't compare. We do DCL with our son though. Can't wait to hopefully do a longer Celebrity cruise by ourselves again for our 25th anniversary in 2023.That said - if you have a recommendation for a smaller ship with a less party like atmosphere and preferably no casino let me know for sure!
Maybe that's not the email they want to send out. It was easy for the other cruise lines because they were chomping at the bit for any excuse to mandate vaccines. I have no idea what DCL is thinking. How hard is that though? It takes them four days to draft an email that says "vaxxed only please!"? It took the other cruise lines HOURS to update their sites. not days. If that's the case this has really been ridiculous on DCL's part...

You’re given proof of your vaccination when you get your vaccination.
Also, as per the CDC, each vaccine administered is documented in the VAMS website. So I assume Safe Passage checks these. Maybe they do random checks. I don’t know.
Access Vaccination Certificates in VAMS | CDCI dont think this is accurate. I don't think all states and regions are reporting trackable data here and additionally various locations require no documentation as to identity to be vaccinated.
Now maybe there are ways to still check but not sure.
I was thinking something different—like how are they asking/requiring in light of the Florida ”can’t require/ask for proof” mandate.Submit your card through safe passage and show the card at port.

Texas doesn't use VAMS. They use ImmTrac2 which is their own vaccination registry. Not many states use VAMS.
Up until now they were requiring 2 sets of tests to be done but then waived those test requirements for those who chose to prove they’re vaccinated. How can the cruise lines ask for it without breaking the law though?

I see that only a handful of states are using it. I hope SP is able to verify somehow.Correct but not everyone is submitting data there it seems even from the VAMs FAQ. I am guessing here based on other things but I suspect certain states even disallowed submitting data here as to avoid a federal vaccine registry (which is a hot topic that both side of the aisle have different reasons why they dislike it).
Lately it seems that entities and individuals are willing to break laws they don't like and hope they end up winning in court. How can the cruise lines ask for it without breaking the law though?
