AKL CL is Awesome- we loved it. I didn't care for taking the elevator every time, but I absolutely loved the little back staircase. Enjoy!

Boma (in it’s pre-pandemic form) is an excellent buffet. They offer breakfast and dinner. The menus change slightly on a rotation. Our favourite for dinner was the Wed/Sat menu for example.

Dude - cut it out - we were trying to keep "ribs night" a secret...

First time staying at AKL Club Level in September! Please tell me about Boma! Do I need reservations? Anything I need to know? I could not get reservations at all for Saana, lunch or dinner! Ugh. Hoping we love CL...I am a fussy food girl, so this experience is for my husband more than myself. Then we head to my favorite...WL!

We did a split stay at AKV and CCV at WL in Dec. Both are amazing! Enjoy! Don’t worry about reservations at Sanaa. You can always mobile order. We did both. Must get the bread service.

We are staying at AKL the week of Sept 12th and have been hoping that Boma and Jiko would reopen before then! I will be keeping a close eye on this so we can get reservations for both whenever they become available!

According to a site that I can’t list here, Cast Members at Animal Kingdom Lodge have been telling guests that reopening dates have been set for Boma, Jiko and Victoria Falls Lounge.

This is still a rumour, but feels like a credible one.

Boma is scheduled to reopen on Aug 20th.
Victoria Falls Lounge is scheduled to reopen on Aug 26th.
Jiko is scheduled to reopen in late September.

Oh no! I hope it reopens before late September. We're celebrating two big milestones in the family - a 40th birthday and a retirement and our big celebratory meal was going to be at Jiko.

Boma reopens today as a full buffet! If Jiko doesn't reopen in time, we'll plan to go to Tiffins instead. That is, if I end up joining my family on this trip. They are hell bent on going while I am very wary given the state of things in FL right now.

One of the covid concerns with buffet type restaurants was having hundreds of people touch the same serving utensils. Our local grocery stores reopened a few of their self-serve islands, but provides disposable gloves they ask everyone to use. Another option if they don't want to change the layout of the serving area would be to have an employee dish out the items you choose. Will be interesting to see what option they go with.

As much as I love Boma, this is officially off my list. With the Delta spike and tons of unvaccinated kids, it is simply not worth it.

Using the Genie app might allow me to eat there or ensuring we arrive when it first opens otherwise like yourself, Jiko is the answer to the question.

Jiko doesn't serve breakfast and I think it won't be opening until late Sept.

That's disappointing that they aren't doing anything to try to make the buffet less risky... it's like Disney has just thrown caution to the wind lately which is nuts considering the spike in FL.

I can't wait to hear the reviews from today at Boma. I too am hoping for the soups! They were so delicious!

If you are concerned about touching serving utensils then just bring disposable gloves, put them on before you serve your food to your plate, take your dish to your table, go to the restroom, remove and throw away your disposable gloves, wash your hands and go enjoy your meal.
