Magic Key Program

This pricing is VERY low, IMO. Our last Signature passes cost $1324 each, and the only difference with these is the apparent lack of Maxpass/Photopass.

If true, I'm very surprised that these seem to be priced as low as they are. At least I expected to be sticker shocked more than I am by this leak. These are old Flex Passes on steroids with the top tier priced close to the previous signature passes...if this is true... guess we'll know in an hour...

If you have the highest tier, couldnt you technically still go every day? If you are able to have 6 days at a time, every time you use a day, you could add another....

That doesn’t seem like too much of a catch given current situation. I do notice no comment on park hopping in leaked data.

Park hopping is a given, subject to whatever rules Disney decides to keep in place with regards to that. They tried and failed spectacularly when they tried to create park specific annual passes.

The current DL park reservation system allows those to be made at 120 days or more, while the keys info indicates booking can occur 90 days in advance. Does that put magic key holders at a disadvantage to regular ticket holders if they can book park reservations earlier than key holders?

On a side note. We were considering getting a flex pass last year before covid. Basically the old flex pass went from ~$700 to $399. So that would be a big win if this info is true.

If the rumor is accurate, yeah... but I need to see the blackout dates for which reservations are completely unavailable (not mentioned in rumor). Flex was generous because the only true blackout dates were over Christmas/NY.

Overall this looks like what I quietly predicted (in my head) when Flex Pass came out, that the flex reservation system would eventually get ported to all pass levels.

Yes -- as it should be, Disney should be prioritizing full freight/full price ticketholders to maximize revenue.

And what if key holder is staying at a Disney property ie Grand Cali? Would we be able to book at 120 days?

Was just replying same. A great thing about the Flex was that nearly all weekends were available for reserving. That was key for us in getting the Flex Pass.

The lowest tier doesn't mention anything about black out dates. So does it have blackout dates? Probably but who knows.

The big change with this from the Flex pass is that the Flex pass didn’t require reservations for every day. It made a longer trip possible for folks from out-of-state because you could plan a trip during a slower period with some days on “No Reservation Needed” days buffered by a couple of reservations.

Not sure that 2 days of reservations is enough for me as an out-of-stater to depend on. Will be interesting to see what they actually end up being.
Same for this Northern Californian. We would go about three times a year for a week. Long enough that the 5-day ticket was a couple days too short. We tried the flex pass and it worked great since most of the time you could count on M-Th being your non-reservation days and then you simply had to reserve the weekends (and sometimes Friday). We didn't need parking because we stayed at nearby hotels.
I wouldn't risk booking a week-long trip with only two days guaranteed -- based on how the reservations are currently consumed for a few weeks out.
Maybe the 4-day -- you could reserve say Sunday/Monday and the following Friday/Saturday and just hope that during the stay T-Th are normally available a couple days out as you use up the Sunday/Monday tickets.
I definitely don't expect to pay $1399 since I would have to go three times to possibly break even with the discounts.
I'm thinking now we will just start doing two 5-day trips with 5-day tickets and no black-out dates. Although if the park is constantly hitting capacity (no more reservations available), then the "less-crowded" days will likely be the non-black-out days as a higher percentage of AP's are taking those reservations and only visiting for part of the day -- since they don't feel the need to use up every precious hour they paid for.

And what if key holder is staying at a Disney property ie Grand Cali? Would we be able to book at 120 days?
As WDW AP holders who stay onsite, we are able to book park reservations as soon as we book a resort stay. WDW does not have the 120 day limit like DL does, but I would think that as a resort guest, you would be able to do the earlier booking, just as you can at WDW. Just a guess though.
