Wisconsin/Minnesota DVC Owners

Twin cities here. Waiting on RoFR at BRV. Hoping to hear soon so I can book our annual January trip. Also have boo bash planned for September pending how Florida is doing with covid.

Welcome! Where are you staying in September? What do you hope to book for January? It sounds like a lot of us WI/MN owners are escaping the winter and heading down in January.

We are doing coranado springs in the tower. For January open to any one bedroom with dvc that is open. We go week After MLK last few times just my cousin and I. She has downs and it is her happy place and I love it even more.

Sounds lovely! We plan to go the same time as well in January. Best of luck on your ROFR wait!

Wish we could do January but our kid is in middle school now so much harder to break away except during breaks. But when she’s off to college, we will be able to go whenever we want! 😄

I am worried about this too! My son is quickly approaching middle school and I told my husband we may need to adjust. His response is "He will be fine" lol. I guess we wait and see!

Hello all, Just seen this thread and I think it's great. We live in Franklin, WI and own 100 @ CC, 100 @ Poly, 60 @ VGF and 50 @ AK. We love BCV but can never get in there for a stay. Guess I'll have to just start looking for a small resale. LOL

Sounds like a good spread! LOL but hold off on that small BCV contract only because I am looking too to bolster my points hahahha jk! Do you have any trips on the books?

Noooooooo. LOL. I have use yr Oct and am only looking for that so hopefully yours is different. I do have 1 planned for Dec 27-Jan 9 Split stays, AK 1bed 5 nights, VGF studio, Poly Studio 4 nights each. Then we are looking at a March 4th through 13th, wanted to get BCV but as we near the 7 months, it looks like that won't happen but we will try and waitlist for a few days and see what happens.
Also I actually passed on 2, 50 point BCV Oct resales because they were $199/pt. not for me. LOL

HAHAHAHA We have an Aug UY and would prefer to get that so you would be safe. I did see those at 199 and man that hurt! I think at that rate I may go direct just to speed up the process. Although I would like about 70 more points to push us into 1 bedrooms but DH thinks 1 bedrooms are so overpriced ::eyeroll::

I thought about direct also but honestly with only 21 years left on those deeds can they maintain that price? I think I'll roll the dice and holdout for awhile. I think we are going to be seeing the end of people splurging here real soon and price will fall for those that really want to sell.

That's a good point as well. We are in no hurry so might as well wait until something good comes a long. Right now we still have a cushion of points so there is no immediate need for us for what we are planning.

Agreed, plus if I am going to spend 199/pt or 240/pt direct, why only get 21 more years when I can pay less at almost any other resort and get 45 years or so? Actually the more I think about it I might just do that and if I really want to stay at BCV or BW I can always just see if someone is willing to trade since I have a variety of resorts as well. Good talk. LOL.

Well now you know another WI DVC owner who just happens to have BCV ;)

We are from the Milwaukee area. We have points at SSR, OKW, and we are in the process of finalizing a contract at DHHIR. We are planning a trip to Hilton Head for May and Disney for next September (hopefully).

Hilton Head looks like a fun getaway! Welcome!

Twin Cities here—Woodbury, just east of St. Paul. I’m happy to have found this thread! I purchased 175 pts at AKV after a March 2020 trip to Aulani with the intent to bank/borrow for at least a few more Aulani trips, but will use at WDW at other times. We rented points for our 2020 Aulani trip and were really fortunate with the timing—a few days later and the Covid/point rental situation would likely have cost us dearly. That was the push for us to look at owning since I’ll now never risk renting for an Aulani stay. We did our first DVC stay at the Polynesian this past March and are planning another Aulani trip for March 2022. My youngest (and only one still at home) is going into ninth grade and is already making her case for why she should be the one to inherit the contract. :-)

I thought so too when my DD21 went away to college, but then I just wanted to go with her anyway. Enjoy your time with her!

Welcome! We really want to go to Aulani someday! I will need all the tips :)
