MNSSHP replaced by After Hours Event "Boo Bash"

So I'm in the position where I feel I have to go. I have young kids and I'm specifically taking them to Disney for Halloween. That means I will need to she'll out $1000 for my family of five to go unless I want to take them trick or treating randomly around Orlando, which wouldn't fly since they knew we were going to Disney to trick or treat. The kicker is my kids will be 8, 5, and 3 so staying up that late is a real challenge. It's a catch 22.

You could come over by boat to Fort Wilderness. :D

We have done MNSSHP in the past and loved it but this is too rich for my blood. We are going to be 4 adults and I wouldn’t feel comfortable trick or treating (even in Disney) and we have plenty of MK days to ride what we want. Hard pass.

And that’s what has me on the fence. I’m going with my teenage daughter who loves Halloween. She’s always wanted to go to Disney for Halloween. finally Halloween falls on a weekend and the following week her school is closed. When am I ever going to be able to pull this off again? She’s getting older. Who knows how much longer she’ll want to hang with mom at Disney. She’s a good kid with great grades and it’s been a long year. It makes me want to purchase the tickets for Halloween night.
I'm with your thought process here. I now have 3 teens (one day I'll have 4) and I can never get that time back. I'm doing a 2nd Disney family trip within a year and my primary justification is the kids are getting older and will soon get too busy for old dad. 😔 (the cost is kind of ridiculous....but if it doesn't hurt you financially, then go for it).

We have reservations at Fort Wilderness Oct 27-Nov1 which will be a Halloween explosion. I can't justify $199 for a few hours at MK when I already have an AP for park time and I can walk around the campground for decorations galore. MNSSHP was about $100pp after discount in 2019 and that was worth it. Double that and I'm out.

I don’t see how a $129-$199 dollar ticket is worth it from a physical stand point. If you have the money and can afford to go and believe the sentimental value far exceeds the price tag I would encourage people to go. After experiencing the party in 2019, I personally am out. For the $79 ticket I had in 2019, I thought it was worth it, especially with the early access to the park. But with the heat and that price tag, I’ll gladly YouTube it.

Add me to the list of those who are priced out here. Absolutely do not see the value here for us.

But it's not a more expensive mnsshp. It's a halloween version of an after hours and will have far fewer people.

I still don’t think it would be worth it even with reduced crowds. They advertised mnsshp as being reduced crowds and it was like being at the park during any other time of the day. If it looks like something I’d enjoy based off YouTube videos then maybe next year I’d be willing to pay that price. But until I see a vlog where it is substantially different from mnsshp and there is a crowd size similar to moonlight magic, I’m going to pass.

Is there any indication that the Boo Bash will have limited sales like an AH event? The price might keep the numbers down, but my guess is that Disney will sell as many tickets for the Boo Bash as possible. I'd be wary of paying the premium price with the assumption that crowds will be low. (I hope they are so that we get a return of the MNSSHP at a lower price). The Boo Bash could be a very crowded very expensive three hours without any crowd-eating entertainment to reduce the number of people in line for attractions.

They've specifically mentioned that it'll be limited sales in the announcement and on the website.

It also has after hours in the event name. They've already set precident with previous after hours events I don't see them packing them full. Also it's after hours, they could have had more than 2 a week like mnsshp but aren't.

So, like limited to 50% of possible capacity with 50% of rides and attractions open...

Almost everything has been open for previous after hours events even when the description was similar to this one.

I get it, people think it sucks that there's no mnsshp and that the prices are too high for an after hours event. So don't go, don't comapre it to mnsshp because that's not what it is, it's an after hours event. Lots of people enjoyed them and lots of people thought they were over priced before. Saying the same complaints over and over isn't going to change it.

And no one knows what they'll do for xmas or next year. This year doesn't mean it'll always be this way just like last year didn't mean things were gone forever. I'm sure they have deadlines and this was the one thing they could do with the restrictions that were in place when the decision had to be made. I'd rather this than nothing at all which was most likely the othet option.

I am in literally the same boat, same ages, except they are grandkids with adult parents who would also need tickets. Have no idea what to recommend to our group of ten!

I’m in NJ and everywhere has raised prices. All entertainment places and restaurants and bars. They say because covid has caused product prices to rise but I think it’s a mix of making back money they’ve lost, people have stimulus money to spend, people have unemployment money to spend and pent up demand to go out and vacation.

It’s no surprise Disney is doing it too with their prices.

Still no email for me and I have a DVC reservation through August 11th at BCV. Yes I want to get the email becaise I want to go. No I don't care to hear about how you think it's outrageously over priced and people like me prove to Disney they can charge what they want. Two years ago I spent 79 bucks for Early Morning Magic at HS for Toy Story Land and it was 90 minutes of 3 rides and a quick service breakfast. So yep...I'm gonna pay this on the hope it is like other AH. That said I can see how they are pricing some families out but youth sports does the same thing and there's less people outraged over that and those are supposed "not for profits."

I know multiple DVC members with reservations (including me!) who haven’t gotten the email. I’m trying not to worry though. I can’t imagine dvc properties wouldn’t be included in the early date.

I have Sept at pop and haven't gotten an email either.
