What does it look like at Universal now with the new masking policy?

Universal put their new masking policy into effect today. Fully vaccinated adults no longer have to wear masks indoors or out. They “expect” those who aren’t vaccinated to continue to wear them indoors but don’t have to outside. I was just wondering if anyone was at Universal today and could share what it looked like. Are people of all ages going without masks both indoors and out? Are there still team members asking some to wear masks. Please respond if you’re there. Many of us are wondering.

Team members will not ask that question since the new policy is in place.

Using the honor system, unlikely will know if all unmasked peeps have had both shots

It has been brought up all over the internet that young kids can’t be vaccinated and would be “expected to wear masks”, so I was wondering if people had masks on their younger kids. We go in a few days, so I wanted to know what to expect. I’m not advocating for breaking their rules nor saying everyone should wear masks. I just wanted to get a feel for what it actually looked like on the ground there today. :)

We left today. Kids not wearing masks for the most part - nothing is said or enforced.

Edited to add: We only went in the park from 9-noon today.

Thank you for sharing your experience and what you’ve seen or read. :)

Thanks for updating. I was extremely curious if they would be allowing kids to go unmasked as well since asking vax status of adults isn’t allowed.

I was there yesterday, and people were trying to take advantage of the announcement and not wear masks on the ride. Multiple times we waited as a team member handed someone a disposable mask and told them they had to wear it. LOL I wonder what it looks like today, and how team members are handling this.

Everyone, let’s not start a debate on whether people should or shouldn’t wear masks. The purpose of this thread is to see what’s going on at Universal since the announcement. I’d like to hear from people over the next couple of days who are there or read about people’s experiences who are there without interjecting personal opinions to the point the thread gets shut down.

We are here now, staying at Hard Rock. We arrived Friday (after 2 days at Legoland) and at check in I asked if I needed my mask. The team member said “no, it’s okay. You won’t need one after today anyway if you’re vaccinated”. First park day was Saturday. No mask required indoors, outdoors or on rides. It’s great! And it’s packed. And hot. Oh, Velocicoaster is awesome!!!

At USO now. majority not wearing masks. Some still are. Social distancing is over. Full boats, buses, and ride loads. No TM will say or ask anything about masks. In essence it’s over. Pre COVID seas of people.
Does this apply to kids as well? Like they won’t tell young kids to wear them if their parent is not?

Yeah most kids did not seem to be in the live stream I watched yesterday - and Universal probably does not want the headache of trying to force it. I'm actually a bit surprised as I know where I live it seems that everyone under 25ish is still wearing the masks.

Are we still wearing masks on the rides? I thought Universal dropped masks for all vaccinated people.
