Hi
When do you think shows will come back?
we are traveling on June.. am I too optimistic?
Thanks

They’ve already announced FOTLK will be back in some fashion this summer. I think June is too soon for HDDR or fireworks. I’m hoping they are both back soon though!

Hoop Dee Do - not ever again, Fireworks now special event only i think, on one of the keys to the kingdom tours I was told the pyro was 250 k per show thats 7.5 million per month in ‘savings’ hope im wrong but 90 million per year i dont know how poor impoverished Disney doesn’t use this found 90 million
OP, don't listen to this guy.

Hoop Dee Do probably won't be back until they can fill restaurants again.
I expect fireworks to come back in some fashion this summer, definitely by the fall.
Lion King could be back by June as they already announced they were bringing it back this summer.

LK is possible for the summer. I heard from some friends that they are looking for performers so that can only mean that some shows will be coming back

June is probably too optimistic for fireworks. I do wonder whether they’re going to try to have fireworks for July 4th.

I suspect Fireworks will either return for 4th of July (maybe a bit optimistic) or at the very least Oct 1st, I really can't see them leaving fireworks out of the 50th anniversary if they can figure out a way to do it safely.

I don't think they would be hiring for a new fireworks designer (I forget his actual job title) if they were only going to do them on special occasions

Actually, depending on which night, Fireworks at MK cost WDW anywhere from $28,000 - $53,000 per night (wishes is towards the higher price) Independence Day, New Year's Eve cost upwards of $100k, but it's not the same as if you or I were to pay for it. The pyro show is a separate division that bills WDW but is owned by WDW so the money never leaves the company.

Agree that they'll have some sort of fireworks put together for the 50th.

The Happily Ever After show might be gone, at least until after the 50th. I can't see how the projections would work on the castle with all that bunting and decorations they put on it for the 50th.

Good to know - so 250K is the cost for a week of fireworks not a day

I would expect before Oct 1, probably starting sometime in Sept. to be ready for Oct 1.

For fireworks, I am hopeful it will be sooner than October. I saw a job posting a few days ago on Disney careers for lead fireworks designer

I forgot the links just spin and spin. Here's the article...

According to several cast members, Disney World has started the rehiring process for the popular dining show Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. The show, like many things at Disney World, has been closed since March of 2020.

There’s no official word yet when the show might be returning but this is certainly a good sign. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is one of the longest-running dinner shows in American history.

Fingers crossed!
