Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

We're staying at Bay Lake Towers in June, in a two bedroom villa. Every sleeping area will be filled between all 9 of us, but my two sons desperately want to sleep in the living room, where the other kids will be sleeping on the chair and sleeper sofa. Is there any way to do this? It doesn't look like inflatable mattresses will fit. This is my first time at this hotel, so I have no idea on room sizes. Thank you.
Actually if they are smallish the benches at the table would work.

The other option is just to use the sofa and chair cushions on the floor and make a bed. You can call housekeeping for as many pillows, sheets, blankets you need. Please tip lol👍

Oh the room is bigger than pix show, mattresses would fit.

The single chair in the room can be moved to a bedroom or kitchen IF needed. I have slept in living area a few times. There is tons of space, to each his own. Kids will be happy to be together, it will all work out

There's very little room in the living room; more in the "outside" rooms than the "inside" rooms, but I still don't think an air mattress would fit. Maybe a single, but certainly not enough room for two.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.

Thank you, that is really helpful. I'm going to share this with the other members in my party.

I tried to PM you but it wouldn’t let me. Other pix I have have my family in them .
Anyways, the table can be moved out and the bench on the right moved in. Also the ottoman from sofa has a soft top and could be put there to make a pit. Would I sleep that way? Not at my age, but a kid might lol. F9CEB1B8-D7ED-4EBF-82AB-5CD1608B3D00.png147CF717-27D6-408E-9FD1-69291DD938CE.png

Does staying at CR give you an advantage for “rope drop”? I know technically there’s not a rope drop, but parks are opening earlier than posted time. I’m trying to work out what time we should leave the resort for a posted 8am opening... so does this mean plan to be there for a 7:15 opening? I think I read parking lots don’t necessarily open, so I’m hoping the fact that we can just walk over also gives us an edge on being first in line. My kids are finally tall enough for SDMT, so we are all excited to head there first!

YES!!! We leave CR around 7am to be to security by 7:15 for a 8am opening.

They pretty much wait until there are plenty of people ,then open. Can be anywhere from 7:15-7:45 but most days was 7:30 from front of park. Getting through security and in line at park put you right at the front!

If SDMT important , do it 1st. If you too far back don't waste an hour in line just go ride everything else there will be no lines.

ITSM, PP and Pirates all have longish lines all day. SM, HM, BTMRR move pretty quick fyi.

Buzz is hit or miss. Sometimes its empty and others its long. That usually due to them cleaning the ride.

Thank you for all of you great tips!! We finally past the 60 day mark. Will be putting ADR worries behind us and start to get strategies ready for park touring! We haven't been since August. This time seems quite the challenge. But Disneyfan Commando will be ready thanks to you!

I cannot find this anywhere--including on the Contempo's menu.

Does anyone know if you can get espresso at the Contempo Cafe? We're staying at the CR next month, assuming all goes as planned. My sister needs her espresso!

TIA!

I’m not sure about Contempo Cafe, but for coffee and real espresso beverages, Contemporary Grounds in the lobby is a great spot, in my opinion.

Enjoy your trip!

You didn't say what view you have. Theme park view is on the outside of the 'C'. Lake view has most on the inner 'C', but some on the outside as well. The standard view is around the bottom on both areas. The pictures a few posts ago show the setup on the outside of the 'C'. It is a little tighter in the living room on the inside. There is no overhang on the island with chairs. The living room is a little more narrow.

What type of coffee creamer does the market have? I need coffee mate french vanilla (liquid) and was wondering if I should buy some before staying here or can I buy it at the market.

We will be staying at the CR next month and I didn't realize that it has just one big bus station versus individual park bus lines. The last time my husband and I went we stayed at All Stars and before that it had been years since I stayed onsite with my own family growing up. So that's just how I thought all the bus lines were, but guess not! We have a 2 year old so we wanted to stay at CR for walking distance to MK.

Question with all the emphasis to arrive at the bus station 90 minutes prior to a park opening if it's just a free for all station, where should we be standing to ensure late arrivals aren't just waltzing up to the bus right as it pulls up when we've been standing there for 30 minutes? Thanks!
