I actually had a question about the mugs, since this is my first split stay: do they let you use the mug the length of your whole stay at multiple resorts? Or am I gonna get denied at YC trying to use the mug I got at GF?

I did a split stay between the poly and gf last week. I asked the front desk at gf if I could be in the main building as that’s what I had booked originally. They said no so I’m assuming just random upgrades.

Yeah I’m not sure why... it’s been a few times now that I’ve asked and been denied but oh well. We had a great time thanks!

Had a short trip to GF recently. A brief report....

Arrived early afternoon on a weekend. Had not received the room ready text yet, so stored bags w/ Bell Services out front. Did a lap around the guest parking lot and it was totally full, meanwhile the valet lot (which is mostly unused at the moment) was wide open of course. I circled back front and asked the Bell Services CM what I should do. He offered to valet, so I was like sure! He did note that valet is technically still only for handicap assistance, but I appreciated his offer to help.

IMHO it seems Disney needs to adjust the regular/valet lot boundaries until valet goes back to normal, although probably only a problem on weekend days such as my situation.

We headed to the Beaches Pool, which was rather busy. Took a lap around to find a family leaving so we grabbed their chairs. Changed in the restroom, got sunscreen on, and of course then got the room ready text. That was maybe 2:15pm'ish.

Booked Outer Building - Garden View, no requests submitted. Pleasantly surprised to receive a rare upgrade to Lagoon View. 5th Floor Conch Key. First time staying in that building.

Top floor room, so had the vaulted ceiling and dormer balcony.

I like how these chairs are a little taller so you can see over when sitting.

This is picky but I sometimes think GF suffers from a bit of "fit and finish" things around the buildings. Roof lights on the buildings that have them are kind of spotty, a painter must have had a spill here whenever last repainted, a roof shingle in the gutter from somewhere. Obviously pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Note, they were pressure washing building exteriors when I was there.

But overall this was a lovely spot to take in the view. The exterior background music can be heard, monorails whizzing by, people coming/going on the path. We did happen to catch an EWP test around 6:30pm one night. They play the whole thing FULL BLAST and the canal makes for a direct audio shot straight to this location. Kids loved it.

The mugs are good for 14 days or the length of your stay. I've had mugs that were good for 20 days, so you should be good for your whole stay across both resorts.

The mugs are good for 14 days or the length of your stay. I've had mugs that were good for 20 days, so you should be good for your whole stay across both resorts.

In general, is it tough to get a single lounge chair at either pool at peak times? I am staying solo near the end of June. Spending time at the resort and pools are a big part of my plans. A patio rental or cabana would guarantee me a spot, but as a party of one it seems a bit excessive to rent either. But, I am also worried about people who come and stake their claim to chairs early in the day, but never end up using them.

I was there last week and never had an issue finding a chair. I wouldn’t worry too much

I’m renting one as a party of one but it’s a birthday trip and I feel like being extra. Just pick a resort day and treat yourself!

Oh, I have certainly considered it. lol My trip is for my bday as well. I splurged with a GF and YC split. I am so excited. I do plan on one day to spend as a full pool day. So, I may just go ahead and get that cabana. Thanks.

I never had an issue getting a chair at either pool, even during a busy holiday. I also never found the Grand pools to have chair holders. Especially now, if you are leaving your chair, they ask you to fold it down so they can clean it for the next group. I hope you have a great time!

Why would you want to watch T.V. after being at the parks all day ?

you have paid a lot of money to be at the Disney area so why waste it on watching T.V. in your Hotel room ?

No magic hours. The only park open late is EP and we only have one day reserved there. We are staying on property all 7 days and nights as we don’t want exposure to local Florida maskless culture (no judgement, just personal choice).

Most nights we will be in our room at 9:00. The kids will have their iPads. Mom and dad want to watch our shows on Netflix as we don’t usually go to sleep until midnight and don’t watch network programming.

So if someone can tell me if the TV’s at GF have accessible HDMI ports I would appreciate it.

We arrived yesterday about 12:20 at the resort and our room was ready! we are in Sugarloaf on the second floor. We headed to Epcot soon after putting our things in in the room. Our son and his family are across the hall. We activated the Military Salute passes and were in the parks!
It wasn’t very busy at all. Did a few minor rides, Nemo, LWTL, Figment got pictures with some characters and walked towards the Boardwalk for dinner at Trattoria. Good first half day. Up early today for our VIP tour. Will post pictures later.
