Helping my parents get covid vaccine appointments. More competitive than FP and I don't know when the release time is! First website, found an appointment, but gone by the time I filled everything in. Second website, scored an appointment for my mom. But the one for my dad was gone by the time I filled things in. I wish they'd at least put a few minutes hold on it. Guess I'll stalk the websites!

I just saw the AF for P2 SW priority card posted yesterday. Since the upgraded boardings don't appeal too much to us with family boarding still being an option, I don't see much reason to hang on to it for the $149. Can I use the $75 travel credit before I cancel? Is there any benefit to holding on to any SW cards if we plan to fly a couple times this year? This is the last of the SW cards we have open right now.

Was amused by an AmEX email this afternoon about sending money by Venmo or Paypal, and skip the credit card fee. Is this in direct response to all the Chase emails I continue to get about changing terms on cash advances?

Successfully sold an old unused H&M gift card on Raise today, my first time using them. Have a Cinemark one I bought just before everything shut down but they're not taking those.

Just saw Britain's Captain Tom died in the hospital. My dad was a WW II vet, would have turned 100 a few weeks ago if he was still around.

The annual points bonus they give you practically offsets the AF. So if you even get 1 support click (maybe from a family member or friend, if not somebody here) makes it a money maker in that regard.

You can use the travel credit before canceling. You also could try to call in for a retention off of some sort and see if they'll help partially offset the fee. I would probably want to keep at least 1 SW card open if it were me, but you might look at it differently.

I'm sorry. BTDT. I got my mom's first too and luckily I moved fast enough on Publix's website to get one for my dad. But as I was trying to select his time and location they kept disappearing so I got in under the wire. Next Thursday mom gets her second dose. My dad still has 13 more days.

I’m about to be in this same boat. For the travel credit - I have no immediate plans to fly. Could I book a cheap (hmmmm say $75) flight and later cancel it? Would I then just get $75 in travel funds that I could use later?

You can do better than that, I think you can just buy a $75 gift card and hold on to it!

Question on UR cards. I don't need to decide this for a couple of months, but want to ask while I am thinking of it. I have a CIU (which I will obviously always keep open), CSP and CIP. I am willing to pay $95 for one card per year (I do not have a CSR and am not comfy with fees that high). Is one of these better than the other to keep open? Can I transfer dh's points to both of these? So far I have only transferred his CIP points to my CIP. I have left his CSP points on his CSP for now.

Oh, I did that multiple times but he wanted to run and bark at my neighbor or chase some scent he caught. His sniffer actually led him to a rabbit the other day but it was too fast.
I actually bring her out in her harness since there are spots where she can get under our fence

I end up with all UR points on my CSR - several Biz under my name and several under DH. I do have to daisy chain to get them all there (transfer DH biz to my Biz and then my biz to my CSR), but not a problem.

If it was me, I think I would keep the CSP over the CIP. I actually haven't used PYB but I think that is only on the personal cards (obviously you can do a statement credit on CIP but at 1x not the elevated 1.25x on the CSP). * just googled and you can get 1.25 PYB on CIP on advertising and shipping. I have a "business" so those are not a factor to me. The personal side is better for me.

If you are getting better offers on your Biz card that would be a factor. I think I get about the same offers on my Biz vs CF & CSR.

Sort of a weird post here... but just throwing this out there: Apparently the mod of the DISboards news and rumors sub-forum stepped down. (I'm sure many like me also hung out in some of those threads). And suddenly for some reason the webmasters decided to start locking threads and moving threads to different sections because of off-topic discussion and whatever other reasons.

So I'm just going to take this opportunity as a quick reminder to say that it's important that we continue to avoid drama here (we did have some run-ins earlier this year with webmasters due to COVID discussions), and that we follow all of the DIS rules (R-word, I'm looking at you!). I'm not suggesting we have anything to worry about, but just always good to keep on our toes to avoid unwanted attention

Keep trying to get your Dad's appt but also have your Dad go with your Mom in case they have extra doses that day.

I had a similar experience as you and got my mom's appt but my dad's would have been 2 weeks later. She went for her appt was this past Sat and Dad went with her in hopes that maybe they would have extra doses that day. They asked and were told they do wait lists each day and usually end up with several extra doses. Mom's appt was late in the day but he was still only number 6 on the waitlist and he was able to get it. The same thing happened with my aunt and uncle in another state. So maybe your dad will get lucky too. Good luck!
