Sega has nowhere near the capital to pull off a deal like that. They are a fading company and don’t put out quality product anyway so I wouldn’t trust them with any Disney IP.

I mean i if i was in charge of Sega and fixed up my favorite game company growing up, Disney games, original games and Genesis-style 16-bits games as a tribute to the 90s Genesis games. I became friends with Sega on Twitch during this pandemic.

In fact, in addition to what i said. I had been thinking of my idea for a comic of Sonic and Spider-Gwen crossover as a pitch to IDW. I am learning to improve my drawing skills by going to online art class. 549997

They've published a few good ones more recently, but most of them were produced by third-party studios. They make some okay stuff, but they probably don't want to be in that business. I wish Disney still did things in-house. Bring back LucasArts or buy a studio. Still, I am glad they are moving away from EA exclusivity.
I thought they had something good going with Disney Infinity, at least with the core gameplay. The toys-to-life thing was a bit of a mess.

As for Sega, the third party they contracted to handle their kart racing game was really good, I always thought there might be a match there for a similar game with Disney IPs.

Seem like a lot or retirements lately. Is it just that time of the year? Or just part of a natural cycle of the old guard stepping down?
It’s a more stressful time than usual. A lot of people close to the line are just calling it earlier than they planned. Alongside companies making cuts.

Also possible Disney is offering them a deal if they accept early retirement ... Just a guess though, very well just could coincidence

Yeah I think it’s a culmination of things. An aging staff in higher up positions, an uncertain time, project shutdowns or halts, etc. I’ve seen a lot of retirements in my company as well over the past 8+ months. As people get close to that age, if what they were working on (especially in the Imagineering sector) isn’t going to be completed during what they see as their remaining tenure, a lot will look to leave now.

I was wondering about this too. Could it be that there was, quietly, a retirement package being offered to some older CM's?

I agree - the current retirements could be coincidental or related to a package. Also could be some additional internal realignments or reorgs. I think we're still a few more retirement announcements away from worrying about some larger issue - depends on who and where.

When there’s layoffs there’s always huge packages for the people who firing would hurt morale of those left. But very often very senior people are paid more for similar work to moderately senior people. And if you’re 66+...
