News Round Up 2020

Do you know if you can have more then 1 virtual ride at a time? If your virtual time for Hagrid’s was 3 hours, it would be terrible if you weren’t allowed to get another virtual time for another ride.

Oops, I see you already answered that question. I wonder if you get more with express pass?
It seems you can have 2 active VQ reservations at once. Usually the express pass supersedes the VQ. When I last went in 2018 we had express pass from staying at RPR and for Fallon there was a separate express pass entrance that did not require a VQ return time.

I wonder how that will change though - I believe at Disney they are eliminating FP because they need the fastpass lines to manage distancing for people once they enter the queue. If there are rides with separate EP lines, I would think they'd need to do the same thing.

At universal the EP is limited each day. It’s included with stays at 3 of the hotels and then is an upcharge add on after that and they can and do limit how many are sold on a given day. You have to tell them the days you plan to use it on when you purchase EP.

That made me think of something. If Disney is ditching FP and using the FP queue for "more queue space" I guess that indicates that Disney WILL NOT be doing any virtual lines since they want all that extra space?

My guess is that if they do VQ it’s going to be like ROTR where the fp line gets used solely for das.

also if they're doing VQ they wouldn't need FP at all. I think VQ is the fairest way to do things. That way you can eliminate the DAS too. Fair and square.

DAS is still needed if day there is a spaced out 20 min wait once it becomes your turn. It will likely be an ROTR situation where the DAS goes through the fp queue when you are called to return.

Who cares about virtual queues. Where's the excitement for the Jurrasic Park coaster. From the pictures posted and the rumored layout, it looks like it's going to a faster and more intense version of Hagrids.

I believe it’s suppose to have inversions like hulk.

I care about virtual queues :confused3

Would be interested in how both companies end up 'solving' the social distancing within queues, and handle virtual queues on a large scale, that impacts perception of demand, how many people are there, etc.

You can certainly bring up the new coaster, which I know my husband will be excited about, without being dismissive of the conversation that was going on :) :)

Well you’re tickets should be dated so it won’t matter if you link them now or not. They’re valid for the days you bought. That is unless you bought the flex option which gives you a bit more freedom on the tickets.

Based on what’s been said it would seem your husband might be out of luck until they start selling tickets again.

I actually had some luck with dates. I'd bought mine through undercover tourist but linked them and had them added to a package. When I moved my package to a later date, Disney extended the date for an entire year. They told me to call when the parks are open again to have them do this but I saw on MDE that they apparently did this automatically. But I think your husband may have to wait until the tickets go on sale for the general public again.
