** May 2020 Check In **

The Disney Channel Fan Fest was announced today, and will be happening in the parks on Saturday, May 9th. I've added it to the first post.

From the Disney Parks Blog:
Calling all Disney Channel Fans! The third annual Disney Channel Fan Fest, an interactive and uniquely Disney experience for kids and families, will kick off at Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park in Anaheim, California on Saturday, May 9. The event will also expand to Lake Buena Vista, Florida, during the world-renowned EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival at Walt Disney World Resort over three weekends (May 16-17, May 23-24, and May 30-31).

Fans will have multiple opportunities to mix and mingle with the casts from Disney Channel’s most popular shows. Among the activities included at the fan-focused day across Disneyland Resort are Disney’s “QUIZney” trivia challenge, learn-to-draw sessions with creators from Disney Television Animation, a sneak peek at the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Upside-Down Magic,” “Descendants” and “ZOMBIES”-themed dance parties, and photo opportunities with some of Disney Channel’s biggest stars. In addition, a cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland park featuring today’s brightest young celebrities with favorite Disney characters will be live-streamed on the Disney Parks Blog and Disney Channel YouTube.

Fan Fest events include stars from “ZOMBIES 2,” “Gabby Duran & the Unsittables,” “Raven’s Home,” “Just Roll With It,” “Sydney to the Max,” “Coop & Cami Ask The World, “BUNK’D,” and the upcoming “Disney Fam Jam” and “Upside-Down Magic.” The learn-to-draw sessions will feature the creative teams behind “Big City Greens,” “The Owl House,” “Amphibia” and “DuckTales.”

Additional details, talent and schedule of events will be announced soon.

*Celebrity photo opportunities/meet-and-greet experiences will be available for fans with wristband distribution at park opening hour on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies last. Cast appearances subject to change or cancellation without notice. Theme Park admission for Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World is required.

May 25-30th DLH. Surprising my kids ( 9 and 6) with a trip after school gets out! Doing a few days around LA and then 4 days in parks. They have been wanting to see Cars Land for a long time but had to wait til they were tall enough to ride and more important able to sit for a long flight from Ohio

I've added you to the list! Wow, I'm so excited for your kids to find out. :cool1: My parents did something similar when I was 8, and before I knew it, we were on a plane to CA...it brings back fond memories!

May 1-9 Staying at Best Western Park Place Inn. Very happy with the close proximity and the price was very good. Was toying with the idea of staying on property but with 6 of us going (Myself, DW, my 20 yr old daughter and her best friend and my 24 yr old son and his girlfriend) it was cost prohibitive. We used the Canadian ticket deal for our tickets. Super excited as it has been 3 yrs since our last trip.

We have reservations at Tropicana 5/1-5/3 so provided I can get flex pass that weekend for 3 of us, we'll be going that weekend!

We are driving to San Francisco from Calgary Canada may 14 to 18th. Then driving to Disney after
So week of May 18 to 22nd. Only going 2 days. Missed the Canadian sale. My fault though.
Hoping it's not to crazy with the grad days.

I've stayed at all 3 onsite properties, and while they are great, especially GC and DLH, I much prefer the closer walk to the parks, not to mention cheaper price and included breakfast of BWPPI. Obviously, for a non-park day if you plan to just hang around at the hotel, BWPPI has nothing going for it, but on our non-park days we are out doing something else anyway so it doesn't matter. GC may have the entrance directly into DCA, but that hotel is huge, depending on where you are it can be quite a walk just to exit the hotel. I think you will be pleased with your choice, especially for the money. Have a great trip!

It's being reported in the World of Color Superthread that World of Color will be down from 4/22-5/1. I've added it to the first post.

Everyone should be added now. Please let me know if I've accidentally missed you.

Been looking through the forums the last couple of weeks and finally decided to register today.

I’ll be taking the family from May 3rd to the 8th staying at the GC concierge level. Really looking forward to it as it will be my first time back in over 9 years and the first time with kids.

I got Savi’s workshop and the droid depot booked for the 4th so that should be fun. Probably will book a character breakfast for the day we leave as we’ll be in less of a rush to try and get out and into the park that morning.

FYI - I will be in the park one day only, May 9th with my Girl Scout troop. There is a Girl Scout ceremony that morning in DCA before the park opens. We'll then do a YES seminar and be let loose in the parks for the day. I'm not thrilled that there is also now the Disney Channel fest and a graduation party the same day. Parks are going to be very crowded, I fear.

Are the Girl Scout ceremonies large events? GothicRosie on Instagram posted multiple dates, but I wasn't sure if they were large gatherings that warranted posting on the main page. It looks like the Disney Channel fanfest will be in both parks, so hopefully that will help spread the crowds out a bit (and free up rides during the main events!)

For those looking for WOC Dessert Party it is available for 5/5 and 5/6. Still dark at the end of April and beginning of May - though they have dinner packages available (I think on May 1)...

My wife and I will be celebrating our 24th anniversary May 15-16, we are going to book the chefs counter at Napa Rose. It’s been over a year since our last time at the counter!
We will likely be off property at the Marriott Fairfield, but if there is a good AP rate released this could change.
Mike
