Does anyone know when Disney puts FP out there for the new times? I've been watching it since I noticed the change (about an hour ago) but still haven't seen any early morning FPs show up...

Honestly sometimes quickly and sometimes can take awhile

We were looking for SDD FP for when they extended hours for our trip and they announced the extended hours on a Friday but then the SDD FPs for that extra hour (8am-9am) didn't get loaded until the following Wednesday

Left Beach Club via Lyft at 7:05 this morning. Had a huge line waiting for drop off.

Got in the security/bag line at 7:22 and then the line for the magicband scan at 7:30. Through at 7:37 (no fingerprints) and walked over to Jedi Training for sign-up. Decent line but was able to get the first show at 9:40 am. At that point it was 7:58 so we stood near Echo Lake and started toggling the screen waiting for the red button. Two phones, both LTE (ATT), both logged into my account. They made an announcement at 7:59 am about the boarding groups and I kept toggling for about 30 seconds when the signup screen appeared. Had to add 7 people and got Group 59!

ETA: I was using MDE 5.8 and I did not have any issues.

They only had 62 regular groups today. I got the notification at 2:31 pm with a 2 hour window.

Got into the line at 3:03 pm and was in the preshow at 3:22. Off the ride at 3:44!

Last time it took days if not a week. Keep checking every 2 hours or so.

You are right, it isn't totally accurate, but I think its splitting hairs because what people are really concerned about is getting to ride. Most people equate getting a boarding group with being able to ride. There is a chance that you are in the park, at opening on your phone and don't get to ride that day.

And that is true for any ride in the parks. I just think it's important to state the facts and not go into hyperbole or exaggeration
If you're planning on experiencing RotR you should know that it's not running at 100% , it hasn't so far since opening, the best you can do is plan for it and have realistic expectations, everything else is out of your control

Right. And the chance isn’t insignificant. Last night I did 7 days, a week, for an easy cut off, and 2/7 had people there at opening who would have missed out on riding, with BG 70 or less being the max those days. Today seems to be more of the same , so that would be 3/8 or 37.5%. If today turns around, it’s 25%. This last stretch seems to be particularly bad especially with the awful app update, and it’s a small sample size so actual chances may be better.

So most days you do ride. This has remained true since opening, if you do everything right most days you’ll get on. But it’s not completely out there to think you may not. I know if it were me, I would be speaking to GET or going to Guest Relations if I received a back up because of tech issues and didn’t ride.

I like numbers. They help temper expectations going in, IMO.

Here's how I see it:

First, about the information and misinformation, while people SHOULD read the first couple of posts, some do not. I'm addition, though, as the ride continues to operate beyond the Dec opening and the first few weeks of January, many who started have since visited, reported, and moved on. This leads to a new round of people just finding this thread, many who have just heard false rumors or misinformation, then expressing those concerns here on their first visits to the thread.

Regarding expectations on ride reliability and tech and BG obtaining procedures: I think of it like Fantasy Football. There are things in your control and things outside of your control. There are ways to use information, the more reliable vs less reliable information, and set your team or roster appropriately. You give yourself the best chance you can. You can have a roster better than the other player, but there are factors that can cause an upset. A player (phone, user error, anxiety, tech, wifi, etc) can have an unexpectedly different day than predicted and either makes the outcome a bit nerve wracking or even negative. But still, you did the best you can. That's all you can do.

Ouch... and the inside queue line is pretty long.

My app got stuck and crashed this morning. We ended up in back up group 66 with hubby’s phone. I have had to delete app and download it 7 times on my iPhone XS today because it will crash. Have also tried hard restart on phone several times today. It’s terrible. Calling boarding groups has also been slow today. Only at 57 now.

Have ADR at BOG at 6 pm (i.e. in an hour). If they call 66, I fully expect us to be just sitting down to BOG and then we have VAH. Has anyone been successful at getting a FP for the ride in a similar situation? If so, do I have to talk to Guest Relations at HS or can it be Guest Relations at MK?

My family is there and have been in line for an hour and barely moving. They said they were told it can wait up to 2 hours!!?!

We are BG 57 and just got in line. The outdoor line is full and moving very slowly. We are in line with our 4 and 6 year olds and I gave them a lolllipop to pass 20 minutes or so but they are tired and crabby so I’m sure they will be back to trying to annyoy each other soon.

To be frank, I hope this goes to the FP+ system next year. I did get to ride, but I won't do it again by trying for a BG....to many variables.

no separate app for the DISboards - they used to have one but they migrated the boards to the current forum system at least partly because of how well it worked on mobile web browsers

Here now. We were at HS at 7:45. Best BG we could get was 89. Oddly enough my wife also got BG 89. We were trying separately. Received a notification about a half hour ago that the would not get to us today eventhough they are at BG 61 at 5:28. This is the 3rd day we have tried and we have always gotten backup groups and have not ridden yet. We both have the most current Samsung high end phones. Speed does not seem to be an issue. At 8am we hear people all around us cheering and I am still waiting for the option to join a group to become available.
