Doing more Hawaii research... how is Hawaiian Airline award booking? Would it be difficult to get 4 economy seats on miles? What are the Main Cabin 1-7 with different point costs? Trying to decide whether we could at least get the four of us one way from the west coast using Hawaiian SUB's.

I have this on my list too. But not eligible yet. I didn’t see an end date. Any guesses as to how long these limited offers last?
Not usually more than a couple months, I think. For me my anniversary on the plain Jane SPG/Bonvoy AmEx isn't until Feb, then gotta wait till the FNC posts since that was the whole point in picking it up, then have to wait 30 days after I cancel it. I suspect it won't be around after all that

I'm hoping DoCs wish for a higher offer comes through later for us!

Jumping in to say this is my DD3 as well so you're not alone! She's 3.5. I spend yesterday changing a trip in early March from San Antonio to Austin. First priority: finding a room with 2 bedrooms because DD3 sleeps so poorly. One for me and DD3, one for DH and DD6. It will end eventually right?!

I haven't been as my kids are a bit older and have no interest, but I hear the Thinkery is a lot of fun (and looks it) and your kids sound like the perfect ages. Just putting it out there in case you need to add to your Austin itinerary.

So, funny story. :rotfl: My initial plan I put together on here was that our next cards would be CIP for DH and Hilton AmEx Biz for me. I was told that, because DH has an insane amount of available credit already with Chase, we should lower his limits and wait a month to apply. So, I went ahead and applied for mine first. Or tried to. Got the AmEx pop up. :worried: So, I went to an option #2 I had for me. I'm waiting to go back under 5/24 in a few months, so don't want to mess that up. But I had a US Bank Business Cash mailer with a $500 bonus after spending $4500 in 150 days. I figured I would get it since I was prequalified and have excellent credit. But it gave me some sort of "we can't approve you right now" message that read as a denial to me. >:(

So, I gave up, took a chance, and went for DH's CIP right away, without lowering any other credit limits. It took a few days for a status update, but it was approved! So, yay, now we have a $5K spend to make in 3 months (which is do-able, but have to direct most of our day-to-day spending to that card). 80K URs will definitely get used by us. So, all is well and good.

THEN, in the mail today, I received something from US Bank. It was an approval letter! I could swear the initial message when I applied online was a pretty clear denial (but I didn't save it). So, this was quite a surprise. Between the two cards at once, this is much more MSR than we usually take on. Luckily, I have an almost $3K tuition payment due soon, so I can pay with my new card...and the bonus is this card is 0% for 15 months and I get tuition reimbursement down the line, so I can leave it sit until then instead of paying and waiting for the reimbursement. And the 150 days gives us more time to finish the spend on this, so I think we can do it. But, WOW, was not expecting that at all! An extra $500 will definitely help our vacation fund out, though!

On another note, I see DH has a Chase offer for 10% back on Best Western spending, up to $29 cash back. We have a few nights at the Disney Springs Best Western in March. The offer says: "Offer expires 1/31/2020. Payment for your completed stay must be made by 1/31/2020." Can this do me any good, given the timing?

Agreed. My boss at my last job had been a senior manager for 20 years. She, of course, had tons of PTO and loved to travel. She not only encouraged us to take time off but was excited for us. My new boss has been in her position for less than a year and is a stressed-out workaholic. Every PTO request is a cluster..............So far I've gotten everything approved, but not without some drama and screw-ups. She has also called me during my vacation. She has even called me to come into work when I've called in sick. I just put in my PTO request for the end of August beginning of September, which is the slowest time of the year. If I have any issues it will be the last straw that pushes me to a human resources visit.

I've turned down a couple of jobs that I think I'd really like and pay more then what I currently make because I couldn't get a clear cut answer on vacation time.

I think I'd have my travel mug on my desk all the time because it says Work Hard, Disney Harder for her to see every time she went by it. I don't care if you want to be a workaholic but you don't get to make me one especially since it's been so long since I've actually had a job I wanted/enjoy.

hi folks.
Asked this elsewhere and was directed here. I’ve got ~100k in UR points as well as the CSP, CSR, CF, CFU, and CIC.
There’s currently no worthwhile way for me to convert those points into a Disneyland hotel booking, is there? I dont mind 100 hoops, I just don’t want to get less value out of my UR points than the $0.015 I can buy everything else with.

If you are ok with staying offsite there's lots of places to stay, otherwise you'd have to cash out to money to pay for on site.

Since it seems like we can just “print” URs many of us are just cashing out. Some folks are earning them faster than they can use them!

Since you don't mind hoops, to pay for onsite you can play the discounted GC game combined with the cash out. You can stretch the UR that way to get a similar value. It's not usually a quick game for the best values though, if you're looking for a fast redemption.

How can I tell when I received my last southwest card sign up bonus? My history only shows the last year. I think I’m able to sign up for the two southwest cards again for CP but wish u could be sure. The last southwest promo I did was end of 2017 when they offered CP to California residents through the end of 2018. I’m pretty sure I signed up in October 2017 and met the spend right away, which should mean I’m good to go. Just wish I could check first

Unfortunately the Southwest site only shows 1 year of history. I assume you’ve since closed the card(s) and they no longer appear on your Chase login? That would be the other way.

If you think you’re good, then you could try applying. I believe Chase would decline you for the card if you weren’t eligible for the bonus.

Are you aware of the new 1 SW personal card rule? Also, you might consider joining our DISchurners reddit group where you could pay it forward by using a support link. There’s also a whole thread over there discussing the CP and various ways to earn it.

And I forget about the google play option. I remember looking for discounted cards before Christmas but didn’t find any. Sometimes trying to track down gift card deals and do this is just too much, so I’ll just settle for the 5% URs.
I hear you! The mental load of churning and maximizing gift card savings wears me out sometimes. But I get super frustrated if I realize there was a cheaper option that I missed.
On our Alaska cruise we did a small plane tour of the glaciers and then a separate dog sled excursion. I was actually not a huge fan of the dog sled experience but I would do the plane tour again--the views were amazing. But I am quite sure we did not pay anything close to $600/person. Is this a Disney cruise? We booked their tours because of the possibility of weather cancellations, even though usually I prefer to use independent tour guides.
We did a floatplane in Ketchican and booked independently (Family Air) and it was only $600 for all four of us.. It was such an incredible experience. But I wouldn't do it again after all of the accidents last summer.

@ski_mom
I agree - when they get an offer they should bring it up as part of the hiring negotiations. If a company wants a candidate they aren't going to balk at a week or two of scheduled vacation (unless there is some business related conflict).

I work for a small company and we have never said no but in the future will not allow our sales people to run a negative balance. That said, I wouldn't take a job with a company that was super inflexible. Bad omen.

I have a PlanePrincess in the house, too, but I don't want to take away from your DH's title. He would rather not travel than sit in economy on long flights. I think he will do 5 hours in coach if pushed, but not without lots of complaining. I'm pretty much the same way at this point.

Yup, same here. If the choice is fly in coach or don't go, PlanePrincess is team don't go. The only economy flight longer than 3 hours I think I could get him to agree to do is going from the east coast to LAX or SNA for a DLR trip. Even that would be a struggle and some complaining. I also agree that I'm not too far off his thinking. I've got my own tiara at this point

You could look at your Chase account online for those cards to see when the bonus posted
