Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I guess, IMO, if everything is going right, they take about the same amount of time once the boat is in motion at Epcot. If you have to wait for it to arrive or wait a few minutes for it to leave, the gondola will probably be quicker.

I'm claustrophobic, prone to motion sickness, and a pessimist. I had to laugh at the part I bolded. You couldn't pay me enough to get on a gondola - and that was before we started hearing stories of them breaking down.

I also get severe motion sickness & have an irrational fear of heights. When they first announced the gondolas, I said there was no way in heck I would ever get on one. But after 2 years of hearing about them & watching construction & seeing test runs, I manned up & tried them last month. I actually liked them! We rode at off times & only had 2 other people with us once. For some crazy reason, the height did not bother me. We didn’t have any stops or slow downs. I found them to be pretty breezy & actually a bit cool at times. Now if I find myself stopped in 1 for an hour in early September, I might change my opinion.

I'm claustrophobic, prone to motion sickness, and an optimist. :) The gondolas are light and airy and do not feel claustrophobic to me. I will admit to a little motion sickness on a windy day, but it isn't enough to keep me off of the Skyliner. I am also optimistic and know that the odds are with me when riding it. :) They don't break down very often, which is good.

We have ridden the Skyliner to DHS from the BC via International Gateway. It takes about 25 minutes, which is comparable to walking or taking the boat, so it is mostly for the fun of it. :)

Happy new year everyone! We are staying Club Level at the BC in a Garden View in April. If I have read correctly all of the BC CL rooms are on the 5th floor. Is the 5th floor only CL or are there non CL rooms on the 5th also? I'm trying to get an idea where we could be positioned with a garden view room. Could it be the back door of the BC, the volleyball court and the other side facing the Villas? Also are all CL rooms close to the lounge or is it like the YC CL where you can be a good distance away. Thanks in advance and happy weekend everybody!

Yes, all of the club level rooms (with the exception of some of the 1 or 2 bedroom suites) are on the 5th floor.

There are no non-club level rooms on the 5th floor.

The 5th floor does not extend towards the EPCOT wing of the resort. I think the rooms are all in between where the Lobby is situated and the Yacht Club. There are just 9 BC CL GV rooms. Many of these overlook the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard. These rooms are very close to the lounge.

I believe all of the rooms in this category have full balconies.

Check out the Beach Club View thread (on the Resorts Community subforum) to see a few samples of the views in this category.

::yes::

We stayed in one of the BC GV CL rooms several years ago. Loved the location! It was down a short hall from the lounge. Our room overlooked the courtyard to the back entrance. We had a sideways view of the lake. Had hoped to get one for our next stay but they were gone before our TA could get the room. Glad to settle for a regular GV room though. Enjoy your stay!

How comfortable are the pull out sofas in the villas for mature (50+ yo) adults? Curious about the sofa in the living room of a 2 bedroom or the sofa in a studio? Is it lower than the standard bed? Thanks for any recent experiences!

Just a quick “real-time” update before we head over to Epcot! Got here last Wednesday, weather has been great but warm for this time of year. Ran the 10k on Friday and missed breaking 1 hour by 25 seconds. This the first year in 15 that I missed running the half marathon, thanks to achilles surgery in April of last year. Got to ride RotR this morning. Left our villa at 6:15, walked to HS and arrived at 6:35. No security lines and 10 minutes through the tapstiles. Right at 7:00 we got boarding group 22. We were on the attraction at 7:40, off by 8:15. Walked back to the villas, quick breakfast and then to EC for our 9:25 AM Test Track FP! I’ll be checking the path status tomorrow for HS due to the marathon and report back accordingly!

The villas sofa beds are not that comfortable at all. I spent just shy of a week on one a few years ago with my husband as we gave my mom and her husband the real bed in our one bedroom and it was rough sleeping. They are also much lower than a regular bed as they are 'sofa height'.

So the path to HS was staffed and closed at around 6:45. It was manned at the access point close to Atlantic dance hall and then again where it joins HS. I’m sure there were ways to bypass those checkpoints but it didn’t impact us. We were on it at 6:30 to HS with no problems. Unlike previous years the Friendship boats were running on marathon Sunday. They set up crosswalks for the BW dock and for access at HS. We made it in to HS at 6:50, got BG 10, rode TSMM @ 7:15 and RotR at 7:40. We were on the skyliner back to IG at 8:05.
Enjoying some pool time now and then back to HS tonight for our Slinky Dog Dash FP under the moonlight!

Booked Beach Club for Christmas 2020! This will be our first time at Beach Club and our first time being at Disney ON Christmas! We were there just before Christmas in 2017 at Grand Floridian, which was wonderful. We'll be at Beach Club from the 21st through the 26th this time. Really looking forward to being able to walk to World Showcase whenever we want to graze at the Holiday Kitchens!

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if the quiet pool at yacht club has a bar and/or servers? Also, is the quiet pool close to the club level lounge? If there is no food/drink at the pool would it be possible to get drinks at the CL lounge and bring them down? Thanks in advance!

They don't have any kind of beverage or food service at the quiet pools. You can bring food and drinks to the pool as long as you don't bring any glass containers.

I can’t find the photo, but last year we took a picture of a menu that was offered at the Yacht Club quiet pool. On one side of the pool site there is a laundry facility. There is a posted menu and a phone that will allow you to phone a food/drink order in. We never actually did it, but it was an option. I will keep looking for the photo...

Hello and oh my goodness how ive missed this thread! Ive been away since 2017 but was really pleased to still see my pictures of the Noodle family celebrating the Queens Jubilee and Olympics still there and my 'Happy Dance' video on the first page. Because we travel from the UK and tend to do our vacations in 'Epic Style' (last trip 3 weeks at YC!) its taken us this long to 1) pay off the last trip and 2) start to save for the next one, which is July 2021 again at YC. I know its for ever away but with it being the BIG anniversary ive got lots to catch up on and plan. So for you long term thread people here whats the big/important stuff ive missed?
Looking forward to getting the best advise again in the coming months. x
PS Is it too early to be on the BOG list July 2021????
