Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi Dee, when you’re next updating the BOG list we have changed our dates by one week - we’ve brought it forward to 17 September. One week closer! 👍👍

I haven't stayed in a 1-bedroom or larger at BCV in several years. I stayed in a studio in August and made notes about storage space for clothing:

1) Most of the space under the TV is now used for the pull-down bed, so there is very limited drawer space in this room.
There are 4 drawers on the sides of the tv (2 on either side).
They are a strange shape.
19 ½ x 8 and 9 ¼ inches high.
They are rough inside, like the edges need to be sanded.
I would not put clothing in there unless I first put it in a zip loc bag to prevent snagging.
You would have to roll your clothing and have it stand up vertically to fit in there.

2) Night table
There is 1 night table.
It has 2 drawers
13 ½ x 14 ½ x 5 high.

3) Coffee table
It has 2 curved drawers
20 x 11 x 6 high.

4) There are 3 hooks by the door.
There is a shelf under the hooks but it is only 3 ½ deep.

5) I did not make notes about the closet, but there's a lot of stuff in there: fire extinguisher, vacuum cleaner, ironing board, extra pillow and blanket in a bag on the floor, broom, mop, iron...

6) It's a platform bed, so you can't shove suitcases underneath it.

Maybe somebody who has stayed in a one-bedroom or two-bedroom recently can tell you about storage space in those rooms.

Thanks for this very detailed and helpful post in response to the storage space question!

natebenma: they were Keurig in our room.

:thanks:

See you there!! You may want to check the room prices with the AP discount again today. I was messing around and the room was $22 less per night than what I booked yesterday. For some reason I couldn't modify it online but I was able to call and save another $311!!! So excited to be coming back.

Does anyone who is there now or recently know if they have the skyliner or Star Wars refillable mug in either of the quick service locations? I’d like one of each hopefully. I would be willing to check other resorts though

A friend who is there right now sent me this picture from the Beach Club Marketplace.

He asked the CM how much it was and she said "Thirty-something". Not sure if that is correct, he said he would try to get more accurate pricing.

We upgraded from regular mugs to the Star Wars mugs last month. They were tagged $29.99, and we paid an additional $10 over the included dining plan mug. The skyliner mug looks to be the stainless design as the Star Wars. I expect the cm stated 30 something because they didn’t remember extract price with tax.

Well, my husband and I decided to change resorts for our December trip. We were able to book Copper Creek and we’ve always wanted to see WL at Christmas. Maybe next year we’ll finally try out BC with the kids! Hope everyone has great trips this year!

Enjoy your trip! WL will be a great place for Christmastime trip.

:santa: 🎄

We will be back at BCV November 14-19.

I am already dreaming of that SAB cabana.

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

I'll make the adjustment to the list.

Is anyone there now? Did you receive any paper work about the walking path to DHS or boat transportation this weekend during the half and full marathon?
I would like to walk to DHS Sunday but don’t know if it’s open during the marathon. Half of the people on the marathon board say yes it’s open but boats don’t run, others say no the path is closed.

That is something which has always bugged me about the Disney hotel gift shops. I will want to know how much something costs. There is no sign with the price. There is no price tag. But the cast member will only give me a vague estimate. Since I know I'm not going to purchase it immediately, I haven't wanted to press the issue. But it annoys me.

We’re here now, just arrived at BCVs and received the race weekend impacts brochure and there is no mention of the pathway closure. We were able to walk it 2 years ago (2018).

Excited to say "we're coming home!" You can put us down for March 2-5 staying CL at BC. It's a short visit as they've been the past several years, but it's enough for me to get my Disney fix and still be able to do other things during the year. We stayed CL last March and loved it so I couldn't resist. It was "only" a little more LOL so I decided to go for it. Haven't told hubby yet and hope I can keep it a surprise until we get there. I too would love to know about the current food offerings. I'll try to find that sub-forum mentioned in an earlier post.

Thanks, we get in late the 11th and plan to walk to HS on the 12th but wondered if the path would be closed. I have gotten mixed answers on if I could walk it.

If you’re going early for ROTR, pre 7 AM you’ll have no problems. Our experience in 2018 was around 9 AM with a lot of runners on the pathway. We asked 2 different volunteers if it was okay to walk to HS and they both said yes. Things can change but wanted to be specific about what we experienced! Off to Epcot to ”hydrate” for the 10k tomorrow! Just one!

I have a dumb question. Would taking the gondola take a lot longer than taking the boat to HS? We have a trip planned in June and wanted to give it a try, but staying at BC there really isn't an opportunity to ride it. Just wondering if anyone has ever used the gondola as the transportation option when staying at BC or YC

We rode the gondolas to Epcot when we were done with Hollywood Studios during both our December trip when we stayed at BWI and our trip last week when we stayed at Yacht Club. You have to change lines when you get to CBR, but it was fast for us. Not sure it was faster than the boat if you hit it at the right time (ie just boarding, etc), but it was pretty fast.

I rode it today just for fun. Got on at EP and rode it to HS. It took about 25 minutes. However, since I was riding just for fun when it got to Riviera I got off and walked around for a few minutes and then had to get back in line to board again. The bakers take about 15 minutes from when you get on them.

We rode from Epcot to Studios on our trip last month. As we entered the ramp up to the gondolas at Epcot, we noted the teal colored boat had just pulled out of the dock. When we got off the gondola at Studios, that boat was just pulling in. This was not at rope drop; the gondolas kept moving with no slow downs & we had no wait time to load either gondola. I don’t know how crowded the boat was & how long it took at each stop. But I do know the boats have a limited time in each dock & they do have to keep somewhat to a schedule. I guess, IMO, if everything is going right, they take about the same amount of time once the boat is in motion at Epcot. If you have to wait for it to arrive or wait a few minutes for it to leave, the gondola will probably be quicker.
