Can someone remind me about how to reallocate CL for chase. I have 3 business cards with limits of about 6k each and one personal with about 15k. I'm hoping to try for a second SW card soon. Should I lower any limits beforehand?

I can see it now, this will be the one time my work closes for snow where I'd benefit (the other times they've closed have always been at the end of 1st shift) and my day be cancelled... except I have to be there at 3am today so I will have still had to drive there and work. Of course I say all of this without looking out the window 🙃
My dh’s work announced at 2pm yesterday that they’d be closed today. Of course, they have no students this week so that’s much easier to do. Sorry you still have to get out in this.

I just send a SM. There are different drop down options now, but I just try to pick the most generic one. Last time I was very specific - Can you move $4000 of my credit line from card xXXXX to card xYYYY. I would like the end credit limit of card xXXXX be $1000 and the end credit limit for xYYYY be $5000. Actually I just did this for my personal to get ready to change to a CSR. But for business I just ask them to reduce. I don't want to move it. Can you reduce my credit limit on card xXXXX from $5000 to $1000. I usually do separate ones for each card if I am reducing but I don't know that you need to. Are you still using the business cards? If not, I would lower them all to $1000. I do regret lowering my CIC. I want to use that one more for VGCs so be mindful if you still want to use them.

The Chase cruise department can get you the price you see on NCL. There are only 2 reasons to book with NCL first
1. You want to pay part of the cost with a non UR earning CC
2. You want to delay spending your UR points

Do you want to do either of these things?

If you do then you would book with NCL, call Chase to get a travel agent and their info (verify you can pay with UR at final payment, if that's what you're looking for), then request that NCL release the booking to Chase using their form which requires a TA name and phone number. It's simple, just not as simple as transferring over the phone. My reservation was transferred same day I submitted the form. You have 30 days from initial booking to transfer.

If you don't, just call up Chase and book through them. Tell them the cruise you're looking at and verify the price. Should be the same, if not tell them what you see and they should be able to find that.
THANK YOU:worship: I'm going to call chase to book

Has anyone seen any deals on Kindle Unlimited lately? @havaneselover or anyone else? I see a 6 month for half off, but I was hoping for the super cheap 3 month deals I was getting.

I am still using all of them very occasionally, if there's a good offer to be had. Maybe I will hold off on reducing and try for another card with the limits being the same. Thank you.

I’ve earned over 500k MR YTD, mostly from SUBs, organic spend, Amex Offers, and just a few cross-supportals — so yeah, totally possible.

Amex has so many different MR earning cards, and their SUBs can be extremely generous if you pay attention to applying for only the highest and best offers. In 2-Player mode, you can earn a lot of additional MR from supportal bonuses by cross-supporting each other to new cards. New cards mean lots of spend, so hopefully that’ll keep the pop ups at bay. If you want to stick to biz cards, there’s the Biz Green (25k MR SUB via supportal, $3k MSR, 3 months, $0 AF first year), Biz Gold (tiered 75k MR SUB via supportal, $10k MSR, 3 months, $295 AF not waived), the call-in Biz Plat (100k MR SUB, but no supportal, $10k MSR, 3 months, $595 AF not waived), and the BBP (15k MR via supportal, $5k MSR, 3 months, $0 AF). I believe you (or DH) recently opened a BBP — that card is currently generating supportals worth 15k MR (max 55k MR/year) + whatever SUB the other player gets from the card they’re applying for. The catch is many of Amex’s cards with big SUBs have AFs, so you need to be able to justify the SUB, credits and benefits, and your planned redemption (e.g., your $11k seats) vs. the cost of the AFs; and big MSRs, and MSing an Amex MSR is a bit more difficult and probably requires you to, um, increase your grocery spend. And unlike URs, you can’t combine MR points into one account, so DH would have his stash and you would have your stash.
agreed 100% I just spent a few hundred thousand and im already back up to about the same. You are doing it right. I also dont do any MS. But I am a sucker for ANYTHING i can get to stack that I will use.

Thanks for the input. I know I'd read that they like when you carry a balance, but it's not a hard rule as @georgina points out. Guess I'll have to think about it if I want to take the chance on a wasted pull.
I haven't actually applied this is just what I have read on Reddit , forums , youtube and other places. I'm happy with my 2 point buckets, for now, CUR and MR they seem to get every trip I want to be accomplished.

also forgot to post there is a +4x MR offer on most of my AMEX cards I chose it on the Platinum for the extra warranty protection I think it said up to 1500$

I’ve only used the Amex gold dining credit for Grubhub but it works for CCF too, right?? Later this week, they should be having their annual BF sale where you buy a $25 gc and get 2 slices of cheesecake for free. Can I use the Amex gold to buy and have the $10 credit? Does anyone know if that deal is available in the store?

I was really anxious about calling in for a retention offer, but it was painless and the rep said there was a 3K/20K MR offer attached to my account and asked me if I was interested. @Lain gave you good advice about not closing too early - DH called and the rep seemed surprised but said there was no offer on the account but suggested he call back next week. We were surprised, too, since it's an old card that got a ton of use over the years and we never knew to ask for an offer. DH called back a week later and got the 50K MRs just put right into his account, no spend necessary. So I would advise calling soon, and if there's no offer, try again another time. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the DP! P2 has only had his plat for a little over a year. He’s been really busy at work this week (holidays are always the busiest times for him), so I haven’t asked him to call yet, but if it’s that easy I may just do all the leg work on the call and just put him on the phone when it’s time to ask if there’s an offer attached.

Are you looking at cash prices? I thought you were looking at award flights. Big difference. One ways in cash don't work internationally. But for award flights one ways will be half the price on BA and VS. For some reason, I'm not seeing any PE from EDI on British Air right now in the fall. I'm seeing tons of business though. The costs is 62500 avios plus $560 in fees for one way business from EDI to MCO via LGW.
I was looking on the chase portal so that might be why. It was showing 180k per person one way from Edinburgh to Orlando.

Plus the added stress of finding a return! Even if it's for the same day and I can change it later... yikes!
We had to be super flexible with our ANA booking. I had a general idea by looking on United's website but when I called virgin what they had available was completely different. If you can be flexible with your dates it’ll help a lot. We wanted to go out of Chicago and had to do LAX instead.

Oh, yeah, it’s yucky out there 😟 I seriously doubt we’ll see our snow removal folks until tomorrow, so I don’t know that I’d be able to get out today! Luckily, my work also made an early decision for a change and closed today. Can you say ‘BF planning day’?! Got my iTunes GC at Costco this weekend; time to sign up for Disney+. Looks like a binge-watching, shopping kind of day 😁

The deal I got last year was 1 slice for free, but I like your deal better! I'd forgotten this. Let me know what you find out. I know the slices were good until the end of March - hopefully that part stays the same.

Edit: the website says 2 free slices online or in restaurant 11/29 to 12/2. Thanks so much for the heads up on this!

Yes! In years past you could 100% purchase them in the restaurant. Smart choice! I suggested my friend do the same thing with her Rose Gold. How many offers are you going for? IDK if I will be able to use more than 4 slices by March 🤣

I gave a couple of $25 cards with free slice as gifts last year and they went over big! Both people came back and told me how much they enjoyed their meal. I was also maximizing the extra 20% off dining on my Gold card which I signed up for in November of last year. Worked well at CF and Panera.

@CaliforniaGirl09 is spot on. The technique is the same. Another tip, make sure to click non stop flights when you enter your departure airport. All of the ANA flights will be non stop from their US gateway airports. I take it you already have your VS miles in place or you will be online to transfer them while on the phone with VS. UR transfer instantly but MR can take longer sometimes. Your departure and arrival do not need to be the same to create a RT. As long as it is 2 one ways. So you can book LAX-NRT-HND-IAH or something like that. When I was doing this last year I checked every single US gateway. I don't mind positioning for an awesome redemption.
I did remember non-stop! I have the URs (or will, in a couple weeks, I hope). I hope to book in about three weeks.

Good to know about leaving from and coming back to different airports. I was initially only checking LAX... which I keep reading is hard to get in/out of (for this particular set of flights) and here @Haley R HAD to go out of LAX when she wanted something else! Will definitely add SFO although it would be nice if I could see all the possibilities at once instead of having to switch around every time. I guess I can't have everything!

I have a Virgin account and even an ANA account (wasn't sure whether I needed both so I just signed up for them all).

So from now until around December 13, I'll just be obsessively checking! Thank you!

I already figured I wouldn’t get the $25 back for the BJs Chase offer because I bought $140 in gc’s plus the earrings for $20 and the charges showed up separately. I checked my CIP account this morning to have a look (again) at the transaction from last Friday, and my statement period ended with the gift card charge having posted but the earrings did not. Thing is, the earrings charge isn’t under pending either like it was last time I checked. I received both items in the mail yesterday (fast!), so this seems weird to me. I imagine the earrings charge will show up again later. Guess I’ll keep checking.

Another thing about the BJs offers...if the offer only works when items are shipped together, how can you know that the offer will work on any order? Unless you order only one thing that is $150 or more, is it possible to know if you’ll get the offer or not? I don’t need many more gift cards right now, so I was hoping to use my offers on just normal household needs.

We booked later than we should have but we had just started earning URs and planning the trip so we were a little late to the game. There were a lot of choices out of LAX. I think I remember seeing SFO as an option too.

You’ll need the virgin account when you call them so you can transfer your points over before booking. I can’t remember if you actually need an ANA account or if you can just type the reservation in to choose your seats and meals. Either way you’re good since you already made an account
