What is the Samantha Brown trick?I'm not surprised in the least that any of this is happening. Long done are the days when the team would try and hide their identities to get an impartial review. I remember that Kevin was concerned about this and there were no photos of him online (unless you knew the good Samantha Brown trick) at the time. Ah, memories!

I've never been a cast member and I don't know how much information they have access to, but I swear, the level of service my wife and I receive from front desk staff went up exponentially once we enrolled in the Disney direct purchase stock program.
I think there are two types of influencers who review something and get compensated for it later or are invited to review something then there are those that seek out places or products for them to review. A couple of times at the hotel that I work at we have gotten emails from pole with blogs or youtube channels that wan6t to review the hotel in exchange for a free room claiming that their viewers or readers will bring us tons of business. I have looked at a couple of them using my own accounts and found they don't really have much to back them up. For example, one youtube channel had a large number of subs but the views on all of its videos were extremely low and didn't match the number of subs plus the reviews that they did were very generic and didn't really show anything that made me want to watch any of them.I honestly find the explosion of influencers in so many industries both fascinating and a little scary. It’s really hard to trust reviews influencers give online, because even when they aren’t sponsored, that doesn’t mean they weren’t given the product or experience for free to review. It feels more like a friend recommending something, when really it’s basically like watching a long commercial.
Disney USED to have great perks for stock holders - back in the 80s - those are long goneReally? LIke what?
I participate in the Disney direct purchase stock program - but I am also DVC. There is not much freebies\perks they can give you when you're DVC hotel wise....
Yeah - they stopped giving great Stockholder's room discounts around the same time as I got my first share, in like '93 or so. Not that I bought for that - I bought because I loved the company, the legacy, what they stood for. And for the beautiful certificates they used to have - I still have that very first one, in a special frame I picked out - have it by the front door. Made m happy to come home and see it.Disney USED to have great perks for stock holders - back in the 80s - those are long gone
I think you can still get commemorative stock certificates from Broadridge (at a cost). I think we used to pay 60$ a night for club level rooms at the poly in the 80s (which adjusted for inflation isnt even 150 today)Yeah - they stopped giving great Stockholder's room discounts around the same time as I got my first share, in like '93 or so.
