Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi everyone, Has anyone recently stayed in a Garden view/ Woods view at the YC? I am visiting from Nov 26th. To Dec 1st.
We stayed in a Yacht Club garden view room 9/16-9/23 - room 1083. It was quiet and not too far from the Marketplace and lobby. You could see some of the Epcot fireworks from the patio.

Hi folks. I have a club-level standard room for a couple of nights in early March, and it will be our first time at the resort and our first club level. We are very excited! There will be three adults in the room, and one will have a mobility scooter. So it seems to me that having the large shared balcony might be an asset in our case. Thank you so much! I am hoping for a quiet room with the convenience of being close to the lobby.

Oh, hey, hi everyone!

Just back from a short but intense visit to the Yacht Club.

This morning is not going as well as I want. Dad called after I went to bed last night and told me he has a cold and fever so I need to change two of his appointments on Wednesday. Coffee maker overflowed as I tried to get it going after my absence. Washing machine is giving me that annoying message that it is not draining...

In better news- I have a bunch of photos of my room YC 4072 (view of YC quiet pool, Swalfin) with a first-time use and ringing endorsement of the "secret exit/entrance" there.

Lots of new lobby and Marketplace at Ale & Compass photos

Some pixie dust at the early morning Solarium coffee kiosk

Going through oodles of photos and I have a work shift at the Topsfield Fair this morning- presenting several classes of "Sheep to Shawl" and "Before the Tractor" to students visiting the fair on field trips.

I'll catch up on the thread when I can, but for now here are a few photos to tide you over:

Great way to end a trip while waiting for the Tragical Depress:

Thanks for the treats, @MommaBerd ! So sorry we didn't get a chance to meet.

Hello all! I need to ship a package to The Beach Club before our stay. Do I use the address on Disney's Website and address it to the name on the reservation? Is there any other info I should include?
Thanks for your help!

The #1 Stickie at the top of this thread answers that question

Can anyone tell me if YC sells French Vanilla coffee creamer in the gift shop? Would rather not have to bring it from home since it needs refrigeration.

Also, does anyone have any pictures of the day bed open? I’ve seen lots of pictures of it in the sofa position but none of it open.

Thanks!!!

Do the Beach Club (and Boardwalk too!) have puddle jumpers or lifejackets for toddlers? We really don't want to have to pack our own, but will if they don't have them.

If you have a pic that would be awesome!!

We booked a garden/woods view at BC. Hoping to make a request for a full size balcony. I was trying to look at photos - is it the 2nd and 4th floor that has the full size balcony?

Another question. At Stormalong Bay, is there more than one check point to get in? Is there one on YC side and one on BC side? Or is there only one?

I was asking for ground floor - can you walk out to the path from your room?
If you are looking at room 1083, you could not walk out to the path unless you walked through the grass. We never went out that way because we wanted the patio door locked from the inside when we were not in the room.

We just got into our BCV studio, our balcony is huge. Such a great room. Any idea how to fix the sideways pictures issue??
View attachment 440251

I am having this issue too!

I love the ease of direct posting pictures- I am not encountering the maximum size error as frequently as I did previously BUT even when I saved pictures to my computer, changed the orientation and uploaded, they were still sideways.

I mostly use Photobucket and flickr anyway, but this is annoying when I want to post something quick!

:faint:

One of our favorite studios [and balcony]! Hope we can snag this room again when we get there in 3 weeks! Enjoy your stay!

I knew about the extra large balcony(ies) at the BCV. Is there only one that is ridiculously huge?

:magnify:

Just returned from a girl's trip at Yacht Club (my first time at YC, have stayed BCV twice before.) We had both the individual toiletries and the hand lotion.

The rooms were wonderful - so many outlets and so beautiful. We had a room with the daybed, and it was wonderful to have the space for all of us.

I booked a bounce back for my family vacation next August back at YC, so you can add me to the Be Our Guest List for Aug 5 - 12 next year!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

Thanks for the comments about your stay.

What was your room number? Do you happen to have a picture of the view?

:thumbsup2

Just got back from a fantastic week at the YC! We were in room 4184, which looked out over the porte cochere. I've read reviews of that location being pretty noisy with the traffic below, but we never noticed it. The room was one room down from those that share the huge balcony, which while we were there was used as a playground for most of the day, which was certainly more noisy than any of the traffic noise! That being said, the room was one of the quieter ones we've stayed in at the YC. We don't really care about daytime noise, as long as it's quiet at night while we're trying to sleep we're happy! We did have a connecting door in our room, but we never heard anything from next door. The neighbors all around were all super quiet at night, which we haven't always had luck with in the last few years.

The room itself was great, seemed larger than others we've stayed in at the YC/BC. It was one of the few rooms at the YC we've had with a daybed. The room also had a tub, we've yet to stay in a room there with a shower only. There were more items in the vanity kit than previous years. We're used to only getting shampoo, conditions, and body wash, but this year we had mouthwash, lotion, a shower cap, and a kit with stuff like q-tips, cotton, etc. I'll post some pictures of the room once I get them all downloaded!

We did have one issue on our last day with mousekeeping. It was actually pretty ridiculous. We came back to our room at 3:00 after doing the EEMH at HS so we had been gone for over 9 hours and were exhausted and just wanted to rest for a bit. Well, we got to our room just as mousekeeping did, so she asked if it was our room we were heading towards, to which we said yes thinking she would give us the option of skipping the cleaning so we could rest. Instead, she gets all pissy and proclaims we can't come in and proceeds to pull her cart right up against the door so we couldn't access it and slams the door. We were running on fumes at that point and weren't really functioning, so just went to sit down and wait (in retrospect I wish we had just gone in the room and kicked the woman out). After about 10 minutes the woman pokes her head out and sees we're still there and snaps "it's going to be a long time!" Now I'm sure that she probably had more rooms to clean that day than there was time in the day so I get not always being in a great mood and not always doing the right thing, but this was kind of extreme.

A few minutes later a manager ended up coming by, so we explained to her what happened, so she ended up going into the room to talk to the woman, and ended up coming out a few minutes later to apologize, but unfortunately the woman had taken all the linen down and it was thrown around the room so she said it would be another 20 minutes or so and asked if we could go downstairs to hang out for a bit. This would have been a fine option, but my mom is getting over a broken foot and was really struggling to walk so didn't want to hike all the way back downstairs at that point. So we ended up just waiting in the hall for our room to be ready. It was such a downer to end the trip like that, but we got over it in time to check out the new fireworks!

I realize now that I wrote this that there is a lot of writing dedicated to the one bad thing that happened, but it really was a fantastic trip and even with the issue at the end of the trip, YC is still our favorite!

Thanks so much for the review of your stay and details about your room.

Your interaction with the housekeeper was beyond unacceptable. So sorry that happened!

Glad that did not negatively impact your enjoyment of the trip.

Hi! I read somewhere else some guests who were booked for BC are being moved to the yacht club side. Is the club lounge being refurbished??? Or is something else going on

To clarify, I believe the people who are being moved had booked BC Club Level. I think they were offered free room service or the option to move to YC Club Level.

Just didn't want people to think it was regular BC rooms. (Although I know you asked whether the club lounge is being refurbished, so maybe it was obvious.)

I didn't pay attention to their dates.

Wait! What????

:confused3

Out of curiosity, was this a two-Queen room? Because in all our trips to YC, we’ve never had a tub, we’ve always had a shower only, and only once have we had a daybed, but we always request a king room, so I was wondering if that’s the connection?

Yup, two Queens and the daybed. Wonder if there is a connection with the shower only and the king room.

Most King rooms have the shower, only, while most Queen/Queen rooms have the bath/shower combo.

This was my impression as well ^^^

Sitting at the airport after our wonderful 14 nights at Beach Club. I’m pleased that my boyfriend loved it’s much as I do! We already had 10 nights booked for next year as we were also going to do three nights at universal, but we’re sitting here discussing extending it to 14 nights at BC instead 😂

Only a couple of minor issues to mention...
1. limited options in food courts, especially for vegetarians, which we are.
2. We had an adjoining door in our room and we could hear everything the neighbours were saying - it’s really not particularly soundproofed. As we went to bed before them most nights (we are early risers/ like to do rope drop) this was quite disturbing.
3. We were at the Epcot end of the resort and I was repeatedly woken at midnight by the practice fireworks for Epcot Forever. Obviously this won’t affect anyone from now on but was hard work last week. I mentioned it to a manager and we were given a small room credit but I would rather have had the sleep!
And 4. we had a 7.10pm ADR at the Yacht-club steakhouse last night... I booked early because we wanted to see Epcot Forever as it would be our only opportunity. We didn’t get seated until 7.35. By 7.55 we still hadn’t seen our waiter. It was hideously slow (fab food though!) and we finally got out at 9.20! That was just two courses. I would go again but not on a night where I had other plans 🤦‍♀️😂

Hi Dee - can you update our stay please? Changed the date from 20 September 2020 for ten nights, to 24 September for 14 nights 😀😀😃 Thanks!

Thanks again for all of your live reports and feedback!

Glad to hear about your 2020 return!

I'll update the list.

:thumbsup2

Just a quick little change to report!! I ended up pricing out the military discount versus the FD BB that we had and the military discount won out, so we are now at YC (because BC wasn't available) and our dates are 8/15/20 - 8/22/20. :cloud9:

I'll update your listing.

::yes::

Can anyone tell me a couple of room numbers at BC which are Pool/Lagoon view and also have a daybed? Makes it easier when I put in my room request on TP. Thanks!

Check out the Beach Club Room Views thread in the Resorts Community subforum. You should be able to find some room descriptions submitted by previous guests.

:goodvibes

You can add me to the list! April 13-21, 2020! Got the discount that dropped today! woohoo

Will do!

:welcome: back!

That's brilliant!

💡

Landed an okay AP discount for YC for Jan 23-27, 2020 but the offer had been pulled by the time I checked for our April dates so we’re at CSR then (at least until the AP rates come back online).

Got it!

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

How is the Wi-Fi on the bus?

Sorry. No idea. I don't really pay attention to that, because I am usually able to do what I want to do on my phone using "G's", whatever that means. Mark's the tech guy in this partnership.

Yeah, I’ve got a tentative BC booking for April 16-20, but DH is really not happy with the price. We can save $800 by switching to CSR, and even guarantee a king bed. And the regular non-tower rooms there had a recent refurb, so they’re quite nice. Their main pool is okay, although it’s no SAB, and we have been Ubering more so the buses are less of an issue. Decisions, decisions...although it’s a nice problem to have, I guess. ;-)

We love YC/BC, but I gotta say, wow, Disney’s rates are really getting out of hand, even with the discounts. How does anyone afford the rack rates?

Ouch!

Let us know if you are able to find better rates. For that kind of $, I would be tempted to seek alternatives too, but my better half really really likes to book at the Yacht & Beach Club due to the convenient location.

💸

That week is higher for some reason. I booked April 12-15 at the YC because it was cheaper. The rate went up on Wednesday the 15h, so I only have one night at the higher rate. I didn't realize it at the time but Easter is on the 12th...wonder if it is another mistake and they thought Easter was the 19th since Easter is usually holiday rates. :confused3

I feel your pain on the rates. Even with a Discount the rates are crazy!

:welcome: back!

I'll add your trip to the list.

:cool1:

We have lotion in our room at the Beach Club this week. :) I guess Disney heard a lot of complaints about the lotion from plenty of resorts guests at all of the resorts.

Same. We had body lotion at the YC this weekend.

🧼

I suspect that our devoted moderator of this wonderful thread who happens to be at the resort this weekend will post copious pictures of the amenities in the room (or pictures noting the lack of amenities). Either way, I'm glad to hear they are listening to those comments that guests are making and are taking appropriate action.
Katesdad

Correct!

Pictures coming soon- later today or tomorrow morning.

:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if the Marketplace sells Lysol spray and liquid hand soap?
I usually check a bag and pack these items but this is a shorter trip and we are only carrying on...

:welcome:

When (and where, BC?) is your trip?

:cool1:

Page 2 rescue!

I had a busy day Friday, but was online enough to see new discounts were released. I was debating Disneyland or WDW for late April/ early May but for the heck of it, I checked the new discounts. Saw a nice AP rate for YC & thought I’d book it quick while it was there. Figured I’d cancel later after talking with DH. We just did Easter this year, our first time at Disney over a major holiday. I didn’t think we’d be up for doing it again so soon. Turns out DH liked being there for Easter & was all about it! :goodvibes

Of course, I missed Southwest’s release for the trip down, so we’ll be paying a lot for plane tickets. But I’ll be stalking for the return trip as soon as those dates are open.

Dee, please add us to the Be Our Guest list again! April 11- 18. YC waterview club level. :cool1:

:welcome: back!

Will do!

:woohoo:

Hi everyone, Has anyone recently stayed in a Garden view/ Woods view at the YC? I am visiting from Nov 26th. To Dec 1st.

Pick me! Pick me!

I just stayed in YC GV Room 4072. At Hollywood Studios wing of the resort with a view of the YC quiet pool and Swalphin. Very quiet, convenient to YC Secret Exit. 2 Queens and a Daybed, shower only (no tub), connecting room.

We really liked this room.

I'll be posting lots of pictures in the YC Room View thread by the end of the week.

::yes::

We stayed in a Yacht Club garden view room 9/16-9/23 - room 1083. It was quiet and not too far from the Marketplace and lobby. You could see some of the Epcot fireworks from the patio.

:welcome: to the thread and thanks for the picture and info about your room.

What was the bedding confirguration? Two Queens or a King? Daybed or no?

Thanks!

Hi folks. I have a club-level standard room for a couple of nights in early March, and it will be our first time at the resort and our first club level. We are very excited! There will be three adults in the room, and one will have a mobility scooter. So it seems to me that having the large shared balcony might be an asset in our case. Has anyone ever stayed in rooms with a shared balcony that has stories to share? Any information would be appreciated.

:welcome: to the thread.

I'll add your trip to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I recently put a post together about the shared balconies at the YC. Try searching using "shared balcony" posted by natebenma, "this thread only"

When is your trip?

Sorry, I don't know about the creamer. My guess is no. I took a lot of pictures of what is available at the YC Marketplace this week, I'll be posting those soon.

If you have a pic that would be awesome!!

Check Page 1, Post 2 and Post 3. I think there are pictures of the life vests available there.

I was asking for ground floor - can you walk out to the path from your room?

You are booked in a studio villa, correct?

I am guessing that yes, you can get to the path, but you will be unable to lock your door from the outside.

Could one of our BCV experts answer this?
