There isn’t really a ton of discussion going on there.

If you go to this link once a day you can pretty much read every comment that is made within 5 minutes or so:
https://old.reddit.com/r/DISchurners/comments/

Thanks for that link. It helps and I tabbed it. I don't know "old reddit" from "new reddit" but I know I can't just see all the new comments like that the way I was looking before. :)

Old card or new WOH card? Mines the old one. AF posted 8/30, free night on 9/1 or 9/2

New one, so I am out of luck. I was thinking that for our February Florida trip that I we would take the 7:30 pm Jetblue flight to MCO and then just stay at the Hyatt in the airport. I don't really want to burn anymore Hyatt points though, so I was considering using my FN for that. No big deal though, I will either just use my points or take the Tuesday afternoon flight in.

1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)
10/15 - SW Premier, first card we got just for the SUB. Before than we used our Discover for everything. Didn't officially start playing the game until I found this thread 4/17. Didn't churn our first card until 1/19, when DH got his SW Premier.

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode? 2 player mode

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
P1 - 15 cards, I'm at 0/24, my last 8 cards have been all biz. I might actually apply for the Delta Personal - we got great use of the last vacation promotion.
P2 - 12 cards, he's at 3/24

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
N/A
5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
DH is willing to play the game, last week he dealt with BonBon reservation issues, and today he PCed his CIP to CIC.
We are slow churners because we don't have that many vacation days: I get 3 weeks, DH only get 2 weeks, and we have young kids which require us to take days off for volunteer stuff. I just started MSing non-amex cards- and it's easier than I thought it would be. Glad to have found this community.

URs -> Hyatt. It’s only 12k right?

1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)
2013. Started with the United Mileage Explorer. Things were better back then for cards! I had loads of Chase cards back then. Misty watercolored memories. I will be under 5/24 next month and the Chase journey starts over!

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
2 player.

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
I have no idea. Probably 30-40 between us.

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
I had an Amex Zync before I started collecting points seriously. That was a cool looking card. Everyone commented on it.

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
I've used my points to buy flights to fly my friends to me and to have them join me on trips. Sharing is caring.

Fun Midweek Exercise - How many Cards have you gotten?
Obviously yesterday I shared the exciting news of being approved for my 80th card as a churner. (This does not include the Discover card I got back in 2002 as I wasn't churning then). I'm sure we have some other VERY prolific churners, and others just starting out who are proud of their accomplishments so far. If you aren't able to answer this question - perhaps this is a good time to sign up for an Experian.com free account or CreditKarma and figure out just how many cards you have gotten!

Gotta keep that spreadsheet up to date :D :teacher: :D

Here's a list of questions to answer if you want to participate:

1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)
I think I'm ready to play:
I got my first card CSR 100,000 points in Oct 2016 when I read about it on TUG (Timeshare Users Group) and started to deal with FOMO.

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
We are actually in 3 player mode, however with some difficult financing with DHs dairy farm his options have been more limited.

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode?
P1 (me) 6 personal and 7 Business
P2 (DH) 4 personal and 2 business
P3 (DM) 5 personal and 1 business

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
I'm not sure if it counts but the 100,000 point CSR

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
Between the churning and my "silly little workhorse timeshare" I will be able to travel for 9 weeks this year for a pretty modest cost. My travel group can run anywhere from 4-9.
Man o Man do I ever suck at quotes. If it helps at all I am REALLY good a helping new moms with breastfeeding:rolleyes1:rolleyes1
So if you need help with that I'm your gal.

Skimmed through so I might have missed an answer already, but the employee and AU cards all get their own offers. It's possible that the main card and the employee card gets the same offer, but you'd have to add it to each card to use it. You can't add it to the main card but try to redeem with the employee and vice versa.
But I'm pretty sure I've gotten the same offer on the employee card as hubby got on the main one. (Hasn't been one that we'd want to use so haven't yet actually added the same one to each card)

Thank you! That’s what I was hoping to hear. We have it on each card so I’m hoping for a $200 double dip.

I'm not sure how many cards I have open. Some are really old and have no annual fee. I have 11 cards that give points or miles. I'm only consistently using about 5 of these. I'm not a churner in that I don't get cards to cancel and get the same card. I also don't MS. I'm pretty new to opening cards just for the SUB. I'm about 6 months in. Before that, I used my Disney Visa and Capital one Venture exclusively.

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I like the free hotel nights, but not sure a want to get addicted to this whole opening and closing credit card thing. I'm pretty frugal and I keep to strict budget that allows us to travel as much as we do and we've done a lot. 23 cruises including 5 European, Hawaii, Alaska, Canadian, multiple Caribbean and multiple trips to WDW. Mostly due to budgeting, not points. We live well below our means our mortgage is 5% of our income. I'm still trying to figure out the balancing act between meeting an MSR and sticking to a budget.

My goal is to figure out how to use points....not so much to travel more, but to free up money for other things.

My favorite card so far is the Hilton Aspire. I really like the perks that come with that card. Back in the day when WDW resorts were reasonable[Ok it was just 8 years ago} I loved staying Club level especially at the Poly. Now when we go to WDW it's a moderate or maybe a standard room at an Epcot resort if there's a good discount. I really appreciate the executive lounge access at Hilton.

1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)
DH had been accruing Amex points for years and never cashed them out, so we cashed out a ton to go to Africa in 2006. We used points primarily for Delta flights, Marriott stays (I was a consultant for a while, lots of points!), and HD gift cards for years, but were not churning cards for points. Then Delta pulled direct flights to MCO from our airport and we switched airlines to SW, got a SW card, CP once, and flew to Disney on points for years. We were very satisfied with this until we had a year of no Disney trips planned , so I visited this thread about 18 months ago to get an idea of how we could best use our spend for other travel. @Lain explained the Chase Sapphire DD and we were on or way from there!

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
2 player.

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
Me - 4, plus older cards
DH - 3 (2 are Bus), plus older cards

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
We had the Amex Centurion black card for a while. Totally a vanity play on DH's part. Once we got married and merged expenses I shut that down real quick. Totally not worth the ridiculous AF (for our use at least), and I hated the attention it draws. ( No one I know in real life knows this other than DH, that's how much I hated it.)

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
As our kids are getting a bit older I am excited to travel beyond Disney (still Disney fans, just spreading our wings!). I have lived, worked and traveled abroad extensively, so I am excited to explore the US a bit as well as expose DH and the kids to international destinations.

Funny yet stupid story. Working with one of the (younger) pharmacists this week and in between waiting for phone calls to be returned we are chatting and churning comes up. He is kind of familiar, knows Chase and some of the big bonus cards. So I briefly outline some of the stuff we discuss here, cards, MS with Serve, (nothing top secret @SouthFayetteFan ;) ) and he is like wow you should write a blog. :rotfl2:I had earlier asked him to help me with Power Point as I have, embarrassingly, never really used it. So he concludes with “You can do all that stuff with credit cards and don’t know power point?!” What can I say, PP is not getting me free vacay.

Fun midweek exercise
1. When did you begin churning? I’m not a great “churner” in the true sense but I’ve been collecting credit card points of some sort since the mid ‘90’s. Have greatly expanded my collection when I found this thread.
2. 2 player mode. But I do all of the apps and spending. LOL
3. I had a Capital One Venture and CSP before the thread. I have added 9 biz/5 personal. DH has added 6 biz/5 personal.
4. Anything peculiar? Not really.
5. Any other fun details? We’re on our second companion pass. Enjoying the ride!

Two applications tonight for Barclay's aviator biz on the off chance we'll get approved. Had this card last year and closed in August. Wait and see. If we get it great but realizing it is Bar-cray, it might be two declines.

On the MS front, had two great trips to Staples yesterday and today. The Staples I stopped at on Sunday which had one card, has a full display now. Yesterday picked up $800 and tonight $800. I now have a favorite cashier there. He doesn't even blink when I bring up more than 1 card, just rings them up. I think I might be done for the week. I have $2700 (includes my $500 test from GCM) to liquidate and I am waiting until next week after my serve statement closes on Friday just to make sure I don't get hit with a fee. I did activate my second account and already have the deposits verified. I was thinking if I MS my CIP MSR along with getting 5x points on CIC I might go over $5000 in a month so wanted to be ready. I was surprised that I did $3300 last month which was my first month with serve. Also, DH has a card arriving in the mail so I can use that as well once it gets set up.

That’s great! I don’t have any problems really with buying GCs but liquidating can be slow. Most trips to FD I end up only doing $200. There were a couple cashiers who were chill and had no problems. I must be the only one who does Serve at this location because I pretty much had to tell each cashier what to do the first time. The last few weeks I keep getting the same guy, he is pretty helpless. The first two times he said “I’ve never done this before” and had to ask for help. Like he couldn’t even figure out how to swipe the Serve card. Even now, I’ve probably had him ring me out 8-10 times and he is super slow, so I don’t want to ask him for 2 transactions. Last night he was there and there was a line of people. The woman in front of me has like 20 items but she wants 8 separate transactions, no idea why. So slow guy calls for backup and one of the women I recognize comes up, but by now there are like 10 people in line and cat litter guy in front of me is trying to chat up the female cashier so I just did $200 and ran out the door. :rotfl2: 😣

I posted this a few weeks ago:
Update on my World of Hyatt Free Night. Card opened on 7/7/2018, AF charged 8/1/2019. Free night has exp of Sep 5, 2020. I am sure it was not in my account on Sept 5, but whatever. So about 60 days from opening anniversary, about 8 weeks to post because I swear I looked yesterday.

That is for the newer World of Hyatt CC. @Judique has the older Hyatt CC and hers came immediately. They told me to expect 10 weeks when I asked.

ETA @pillow applied not long after I did. Did you get your night yet?

Good memory! No I haven't received it yet. I was approved on August 11. My annual fee posted on Sept 1. So it has to be soon.

I was planning to use it on the Hyatt MCO for our Feb trip, but I got impatient and just transferred UR's for that.

I made power points for fun as a kid lol. I’m talking like 8 or 9 years old. I was such a loser. I thought it was so cool to pick the different fonts and have transitions in between the slides
I’m a little bit envious of my younger co-workers and their speed with charting. Or my 6yo DGD and her ability to use my iphone. She was watching YouTube videos on my phone a month ago and locked the orientation so the screen wouldn’t rotate. Then she went home for the night!!! It took me 30 min and google to figure out how to fix it.
