Oga’s Cantina - Should we or shouldn’t we?

As much as I did not like it, the drinks are terrible/premixed and over-priced, I say go for it and see for yourself......

We like the drinks. First time mom had the Fuzzy Tauntaun and for a celebration the second time I had the Outer Rim. We both tried each others. I was glad for the ice in mine because it was too strong and burned a bit at first. I will only be buying an alcohol drink once or twice a year though since the prices are ridiculous. Next time we are going in the morning and just splitting a roll. I love the place but can’t drop 8+ bucks a month to see it.

My husband and I went to the one in Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and while it's not something I would have to do every time, we enjoyed it. We each got one drink a piece so we could try two different ones; jabba juice and carbon freeze.

Once we got the drinks and paid for them we walked around to take pictures and see DJ Rex since our table wasn't near him. We just carried our drinks with us and drank them while we went around. They didn't seem to have a problem with us doing that.

Just be aware, your spots at the table will probably be gone once you have walked away (ours were). We didn't care because we weren't planning to order anything else anyway. We were talking to one of the CM's and mentioned we were looking around and our table was taken so we didn't have anywhere to go back to. She said if we still wanted to order a 2nd drink we could go back over there and do that.

I'm glad we did it as it was fun to see. While we were waiting for our drinks, two people were brought to our table and just looked at the menus and left. I got the impression they just wanted to see inside the place.

I've been on the fence, as well. I think I would at least like to go inside. I told my daughter we won't have to stay the full time. It really bugs her to be stuck at a standing table and I don't blame her.

I cringe at the Cantina prices. I love cocktails and usually can't have just one. I was in GE opening day at DHS and naturally couldn't get in the cantina. I'm also not a SW fan. Never seen a movie. With that said, I still plan on trying the cantina when I return in November. My plan is to have drinks elsewhere in the park 1st that way it will be more liely I just stick to one drink. We'll see how that works out.

You won’t have a problem stopping at one unless you like a glass of nasty sugar with no apparent alcohol to be found.

Whether or not the drinks are good is a matter of opinion and how strong you prefer your drinks. I find the drinks to be too strong to even drink comfortably til some ice has melted. I only like sweet, fruity drinks so I really like the ones I’ve tried at Oga. I was definitely a bit lightheaded after the Outer Rim- and I took 40mn to finish it. I’m sure I would be lightheaded after the Fuzzy Tauntaun too but I just tried a bit of someone else’s. If you like these kinds of drinks, they are certainly not awful or nasty. There’s at least one that’s not supposed to be sweet- forget the name but it literally has a piece of an herb as a garnish.

That was the poor try of a margarita and I can honestly say it was TERRIBLE it was the awful combo of ginger, tequila, and bitters.... :crazy2:, that was the single worse drink I have EVER tasted..............My wife took one drink and was done and when I tried it myself I agreed. The CM asked about it and we told him it was gross and he AGREED! Tried the one in the cool souvenir glass, yub nub and was like drinking pure juice, these had little to no booze and again had the CM asking about it and he was in agreement, the issue is they are premixed and just there to be "different". Again until Oga's decided to go to a full bar it will lack in the drink department unless one wants watered down juice boxes.....:sad2: Nice try Disney but a HUGE fail.....

At first we weren't very tempted by Olga's between the drink cost and the standing. However I was able to secure a ADR that lined up nicely with our FP's for the day. So we'll enjoy. I just hope it's not too dingy and disgusting - which is how I think of SW's LOL

Besides watch DJ Rex, what else is there to do there?

P.S.: I always thought they should have the alien band from the original Cantina scene. Those would be great AAs to see (yes, I know, GE is not supposed to be based on the original movie(s). So what? Those aliens could be all over the galaxy).

What else is there to do in a bar? Just drink, talk and take in the atmosphere.
I too would've loved Figrin D'an and the Modal Modes

We r going to check it out in April. My kids are 10 and 7 so I don’t know for sure yet.
I wish they did it like the hanger bar. A few things to eat so the kids would be occupied and my wife and myself could have a few drinks.

I also wish they did like when there was Star Wars weekends and the last year they did the cantina for lunch and there were characters who popped in to mingle and others who just came in to perform a skit and bailed. One of my sons best times I elderly in Disney was when he was really young and greedo sat with us while he was eating. My kids laughed his head off. He was so amused by his hands. Lol. Even if the characters didn’t interact just having a general come in and sit for a drink and throw out a few lines made it pretty immersive. That was a very cool experience I remember.

just my thoughts so far from not being there yet.

I bet they change things up eventually like they did with the hanger bar. The specialty glasses are gone now. Remember the coasters. They were suppose to release new ones every so many months. Gone.

all I’m saying is things change so who knows with here.

lol true. You go to socialize and drink. Personally I’m a fan of a bar where I can play darts or Shuffle board all night while socializing. I know that isn’t possible here. But you are right you go to drink and talk.
