We don’t allow new top level posts. Otherwise it would become a mess quickly.

Your post seems to fit perfectly here on this thread. I’d just ask here. The items we’re pushing towards DISchurners are more advanced in nature and things we want to protect from google searches and such.

Also - I upvote pretty much everything on DISchurners :D
Yeeeahhhhh.... no idea what a top level post is! So, anything we post has to be a response to an already - there post, right?

I have lost it upthread but did I just read that someone managed to pay for a trip to DisneyLAND using points? Including tickets and such? I don't know if I've been asleep to have missed such information but can someone point me in the right direction?
I think that was me! Yes, a while ago we were able to purchase DL tickets through the Chase portal and I got 4 5-day park hopper tickets. I also booked 5 nights at the courtyard Anaheim with UR points. And I booked our flights with JetBlue points.

Hmmm. Between DH and I we have 200k AA miles, maybe I really do need to look into a Mediterranean cruise and another 130k soon to come.

Yes, you need a Mediterranean cruise to use those miles!

I just put this together for our cruise in July.

Planning on more URs for the rental car and hotels and using our Hilton free weekend night certs.

If anyone has hotel recommendations in Barcelona or Edinburgh please let me know!!

Good grief. I HAVE been asleep. For some reason I thought Disneyland tickets were completely off the table as far as using any kind of points to buy them.

Was it a limited time thing, do you recall?

This might be a very basic flight reward redemption question but since I've never done it before, here it is.

I am flying ANA from LAX>NRT, but flying home from KIX>LAX (at least that was the plan). However, ANA does not have direct flights from KIX... I'd have to stop at HND and go on to LAX from there.

I'm not near ready to book YET but when I do, does adding that stop still count as all one ticket, or will that be two separate tickets? I mean, can I still get home from KIX to LAX, even accounting for the stop, one one reward ticket?

Am I even making sense? :crazy2::guilty::thanks:
I can’t remember exactly your plans for booking but I’m pretty sure if you book through Virgin it has to be roundtrip.

I loved Aruba! And the Renaissance is actually really fun also. Our 2 favorite things were the jolly pirates snorkeling trip and renting a Jeep to see the donkey sanctuary, and the natural pools and caves in Arikok national park.
I did the Jolly Pirates snorkel while DH was scuba diving. I had fun, but think I was twice the average age of everyone else on the boat!

I'm really sorry! That sucks! My WDW confirmation # still says pending on my travel docs, so I'm not in a hurry (especially now) to cancel. The flight I chose is in mid-November so I'll wait until the 60 days mark to do anything. These DPs aren't looking so good. :(
I shouldn’t have cancelled so fast. I’d definitely hold out in your shoes. Even if you lose the cancellation fee, you are still way ahead of where I’m at right now!

We went to Aruba for our honeymoon back in 2003 and stayed at the Hyatt. And we didn’t use points for anything 😱 It was a great hotel though and we loved the island. We’d love to go back (on points this time though!)

I don’t think they’re still available but I’m not 100%. I searched for Legoland in CA and then if you scroll down to the bottom it showed other things that people searches for and the the DL tix showed up. Then I clicked on that and purchased my DL tix.

I have an ipad mini and it fits very easily. How big of an ipad do you have? The jumbo one won't fit.

There's actually a built in tablet slot with padding and everything.
Just the normal iPad. Not the super giant pro one.

A lot of these types of bags claim to have a tablet section, but it’s really sized for like a kindle which is smaller than a typical iPad.

Did something change with bonblah? I thought I would be able to book a hotel without all the required points (thought the change was coming on Sept. 14th). In anticipation I tried booking the Marriott London Park Lane for end of next August and I got a message that I don't have the required points balance (I don't....yet!). Did this change already take effect? Boooo

Also when I booked our nights for Westin Whistler in February (last weekend) I couldn't figure out why so many points were required, so I called Marriott. Turns out they moved the hotel from a cat 6 to a cat 7 on August 14th :headache::crazy2:. Once the peak season rates take effect this hotel is going to take a lot of points to book.

Does anyone have experience using Chase points for excursions on an Alaskan cruise? We're not going until next summer, but I'm curious how far in advance they pop up to get scheduled. We've never cruised, but we're traveling with family that is nervous that didn't arrange and book all our excursions months ago. Has anyone had problems scheduling a common excursion (we're looking for whale watching,) closer to sailing?
I didn't book any but I was mock-looking at availability for late this summer back in May and was finding plenty. That was just for 2 people and I didn't try to actually book anything, but there were lots of options available.

If you buy the regular sized bag, I believe the regular ipad would fit. I would check but my regular sized ipad is at work.

Yeah based on the dimensions it seems like it might.

I also just ordered two pairs of athletic style shorts with pockets off amazon. Maybe I can swing this whole bagless thing it it’s not supposed to rain. Cause ponchos end up being the final issue.
