Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Thanks all for the help. It's much appreciated. I will definitely look into the AKL and Gran Destino Tower.

Another question... If not taking the magical express, is taking an Uber the best alternative? We have taken the magical express and we felt that we were on there for a really long time.

It is not cheap, but I really like the Minnie Van service. It was the best pick up we ever had at MCO in the over 20 trips we have taken.......

Uber or Lyft will get you there quicker. If you’re a first time user make sure to google up a good promo code. Btw if you have full size suitcases for 4 adults you should get an XL so all your luggage fits.

Uber/Lyft is definitely the cheapest alternative to DME.

A few years ago we got turned on to Tiffany Towncar from frequent mentions on this thread and the Transportation board. Lately we’ve been using the Minnie Van service which we have really enjoyed. There is absolutely no way to justify it cost-wise, it’s a really obnoxious price and is just a total splurge, no way around that. We do need car seats so appreciate the ones Disney offers via Minnie Van and the fact they are properly installed. Plus the drivers have generally been quite awesome.

A private car service like Tiffany and the Minnie Van service are pretty much the same - both meet you at baggage claim, both park in a special level below baggage claim, both are super convenient.

But, Uber/Lyft are totally legitimate options too if so inclined.

I cannot seem to find this anywhere - are the club level rooms at Coronado Springs on several different floors throughout the tower or where are they located? If different floors, can you pay more to be on the same floor as the lounge? thx

They are on different floors.
There's no booking category to be on the same floor so no, you can't pay more

I got so caught up in our Star Wars annual passholder preview that I never came back and reviewed our Gran Destino tower club level stay. First of all, this club is absolutely stunning. The decor and seating was really gorgeous. The views beautiful. The service was absolutely top notch. The CMs that worked there were really a level above any others. It was like they were trained in VIP guest treatment. Now, don’t get me wrong, there are lovely CMs at other lounges but Club level to me always felt kind of like a “tag on”, if that makes sense. Like the CMs did other jobs and then they did this. And like they decided they needed an additional, level,of service so they built this room and put some nice food in it. Not so at Gran Destino. It was as if the club level was created FOR the space and like the people who worked there were hired for that job.

The food and beverage offerings were also definitely the best we have experienced. Lots of different wine choices- at least 7 or 8 different kinds out over the 3 nights we were there. And Spanish wines that were really good. Always available (without having to ask). Great choices in the always open fridge as well including beer and cider always out. The food choices were really like mini meals. Hot eggs and bacon in the morning and things you could make a full meal out of ( multiple choices) at dinner. The evening dessert offerings were beautiful hand made chocolates and macarons plus a cake and cookie option or two.

Would definitely return!

Will be back again this next weekend in Club. I too enjoy the wine they serve, especially since I can get a nice white with lunch. In December I get the Presidential Suite, Alcazar, across from Chronos Club for a whole week. I truly am looking forward to that visit!!

I know, such a huge problem to have - LOL!!!

Thank you!!! :earboy2:

You're welcome :).

We usually book Tiffany Towncar for transport to and from MCO and Disney resorts. They meet us in baggage claim. We've been happy with them.

We use them as well. Love Tiffany Towncar :goodvibes.

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a great time :).

Is sunscreen usually included with club level (specificall WL)? Mine is 4oz (although its half empty) so it technically shouldn't go in my carryon. But we are likely going to swim shortly after arrival. Thanks!

We did not have sunscreen at CR atrium club the last week of August.

Important question for the Mrs... does anyone know if the CR Atrium Club has lox in the morning? Anyone specifically know if any others do if that one doesn't? :)

Thanks much!!!

Lox was out every morning the last week of August. My husband tried it our first morning and immediately spit it out. He said it was awful. I tried it myself the next day and one bite was enough. All the other food we tried there was absolutely delicious. Maybe they just had an off batch that week?

AKL doesn't have any resort rooms on the CL lounge floor. (only DVC). It's never been less appealing to go to the lounge

BWI has Deluxe rooms and the cottages that are not on CL floor. It has never been less appealing to go to the lounge

WL allows you to add on CL to any resort room. Those rooms are not on the CL floor. It is has never been less appealing to go to the lounge.

I venture to guess that the vast majority of the time, when going to the CL, you are heading out to or returning from the parks anyway. At least that's what we do.

ETA - Here's a map of the top floor, showing the types of rooms. It's all of them. What floor you get is simply luck of the draw, except for the specific suite. If you book that, you'll be in that suite. That's the only way to ever book a specific room at a Disney resort, to book one of their named suites.

Pretty subjective in my opinion. Haven’t stayed at Gran Destino yet but have stayed in several resorts where we weren’t on the CL floor or building. Does it make it “less appealing”? No, not in my opinion. But for us there are definitely subtle differences in how we find ourselves using the lounge. Fewer quick drop-ins for a snack or beverage, less likely to stop by the lounge going to/from the room if it’s not on the direct path, fewer CM interactions, things like that.

No game changers, just small changes for us.

We often rent a car. Here are some sample rates:

town car to WDW: One-way: $75, RT= $135 (plus any gratuity)

Lyft MCO to CR Estimate (not counting any price surges/traffic): $30 each way

Rental car- late Sept- start at $100 per WEEK (+parking at Deluxe = $25/night)

At least some of the standard CL rooms at Coronado are on the same floor as the lounge, but even if you aren't, the elevators are super quick.

The new building has unique state of the art elevators, that deserve their own comment. Instead of pushing a button AFTER getting into the elevator, you select your floor BEFORE entering the elevator and the computerized system assigns your elevator. It is very efficient.

I usually prefer to be on same floor as lounge myself, but at GD, it won't a big deal to be on a different floor.

FIREWORKS at Gran Destino:

One thought I had about GD, is was that though you can see both the HS and Epcot fireworks from the lounge, you don't get to hear the audio. I wonder if this will change in the future, but for now...you can get a close approximation of the audio via your phone if you search a recording of them and hit start just as the show starts.

I tried searching this, but since it's like finding a needle in a haystack I thought I'd just ask. Don't know if anyone can help, but does anyone know if any of the CL rooms at WL have bunk beds? I know there are bunk beds in some of the regular rooms, we've stayed in those before and my girls loved them (and so did I since it meant I didn't have to listen to them complain about one of them touching the other lol), but the room discription for the standard CL rooms states that one bed combo option is a queen and bunks. I did try looking at touring plans (not really reliable, but thought I'd try) but they all said double queen.

I know at least one of the rooms on the CL floor does as we stayed in it in April. Room 7043 - it’s the red room on the map below (the lounge is the yellow circle and the red circles are elevator banks). Note none of this plan is drawn to full scale/accuracy, but it’s directionally accurate.

I want to say I’ve seen a report from someone who had a bunk bed on the other side of the hall as well, but I’m definitely not 100% sure about that.

Our only room request this trip was for a bunk bed, FWIW.

I’ve read they are phasing out the bunks in other resorts that have/had them with renovations - such as AKL - but for now WL still has them until eventually renovated, I guess.

I am there this weekend too. Just sat and sun for F&W. Its better than no disney time!

We had to cancel the Pres suite I had booked for Thanksgiving. My kids wanted to be HOME. Dd hasn't been home for that holiday in 3 years. Oh well.

YOU can send us pix at least, right???

@Sarahslay - Also FYI, an alternative to guaranty you a Bunk Bed room would be to book a non-CL Bunk Bed room then when you arrive ask for the paid CL upgrade. It’s $99 per day and you keep your room, you’re just given access to the lounge and all CL amenities.

Granted, there is a capacity limit to how many guests they let do this so you have a small risk of not getting it, but it has yet to be reported to date that anyone has been told it’s full - it’s not advertised in any way and only really gets discussed on message boards such as this. So somewhat of a calculated risk.
