I need some help with churning an Ink Chase Preferred card.

I was approved for an Ink on 4/16/17. I think I qualified for the bonus in 2 months time, but I don’t exactly remember. After my annual fee posted, I cancelled the card and was refunded the annual fee. (I also received the Chase Ink Cash on 8/3/18 in case that matters).

So now I am approaching 28 months since being approved for the Ink Preferred. When is it safe to apply again? Is there a way to confirm when a bonus posted on a card that you no longer have (and for which I didn’t print out statements). Is the 24 month wait after a bonus mean 365 days, or do they count whole months? Should I wait until September (prefer not to because I need to buy a washer and dryer before then).

Expertise and advice appreciated.

If you are under 5/24 you can apply for the CIP now

Decisions, decisions. We are all checked in for tomorrow's flight but my 76 year old mom did not get TSA Precheck and DH, DS and I have it. She will be getting wheelchair assistance so maybe we could take her bags and go through Pre-check and meet her on the other side? Would that be terribly rude? And DS is upset since he ended up with C01. I am hoping they let him board with my mom and me.

With TSA: Your husband and son could take all of the bags and you could escort your mom through.

On SW boarding: Are you guys B58, B59 and B60 in front of him? If that's the case, you'll have no issue boarding together. If you're significantly further up in the line you might be met with resistance.

ov 28-dec 1 (we’ve never done thanksgiving at Disney so don’t know how busy it’ll be, there are more resort options, I am unable to get any Oga’s adrs and f&w will be over)

You could come to my dessert party the 1st lol. Oh, also I have a group booking rate. I have it for the 29th and the 1st but I can try and add the 28th if you are interested. I have movies for $100 a night, POFQ for $200 beach club for $400 and the grand for $600

@Ngwira - here's an article that preceded yours.

What is everyone's dream destination?

Mine would be the Adriatic Coast- I would love to sail from Venice down the coast of Croatia, Montenegro, Albania to Greece. I love water, sailing and doing nothing so it's the perfect fit for me. ⛵
Can I be super corny and just say that I literally live my dream destinations every year. Disney World and Captiva...

Oh, no!! I don't know if I could fake my way through that. I think if it were me I'd just let it go. Can you still manage your MSR without it? I'll have to revise my plan going forward.
Oh wow! I feel like maybe you can fake your through it this one time only but you should do some legit bill pays and DDs in case they keep an eye on your account- if they let you open it. The risk is they let you open it and then decide it was a bad decision and freeze your funds while they investigate. That gets messy. You eventually get your money back but it’s stress most people would like to avoid.
Ultimately I decided I probably could not fake my way through. MSR will be a little tough but I do have insurance payments coming up. If it seems I can’t make it, I may have DH apply for the GSB account, this time knowing to leave some money there and use the account. Otherwise plan is for DH to apply for SW card and was going to use GSB funding for that.

Sounds lovely!

Mine was the Faroe Islands, but I knocked that off in May. I think mine now is Greenland. Zeghram Expditions has a really extensive tour that my friend who did the Faroes with me and I are talking about if they bring it back in 2020 (this was from 2018): Ihttps://www.zegrahm.com/expedition/untamed-north-greenland-iceland-june-2018/overview I'd also like to hit Svalbard though. I think Nat Geo has one that does both but they don't hit the west coast of Greenland, which is supposed to be incredible. So for me ... the far north!

Heading to Richmond VA. Going to drive to Williamsburg and VA beach. I still love JetBlue even if they did switch to Pepsi products!
Have to say I am in love with my Motherlode Jr. It’s a bit snug but fits under the seat in front of me. I’m getting the kids each their own for the holidays!
I love my Motherlode Jr. I think I'm getting the littles each one before our Disneyland trip.

I find it ironic that some of you use PNC for high yield savings. PNC is my primary bank, my checking account has been with them for over 20 years, but I don't use their savings. I keep mine in a money market at Vanguard, just checked and it is currently paying 2.17%.
Yes, that's true. I'm getting 2.4% like @kidsfirsttrip. @Natgridenergy would get the same as us.
I have 2.4% as well so while I opened for the bonus, it's become my primary savings.

My self-referral points for my CIP didn't post last night, I applied last Monday and was approved Tuesday I think. I believe someone said it can take 2-3 weeks so hopefully next week I'll get them. @PolyRob - did you mention you were missing yours too?

DH was approved 7/15 and I just got my points last night.

No, I was not able to find good award availability for our dates. We're in NorCal, near Sacramento, so that's our preferred airport but limited for flights. Only Hawaiian and Alaska fly to HI from here, but Southwest is supposed to start their flights there ANY DAY NOW! We booked our flights in January. Flights out are on Hawaiian, booked on Amex travel using BizPlat for 5x, then reimbursed with a Schwab cashout. Flights back are on Alaska, booked with points and their companion fare. The flights going there were not too badly priced, but the ones coming back were ridiculous, so it was great to have the points and the companion fare.

We had planned on only going to Maui for the week after Christmas, but now my whole family has decided to go to the Big Island for Christmas, so we have to change our flight going out there. Still not sure what we're going to do for that. I can suck it up and pay the change fees and the higher price to stay with Hawaiian (I would cover that cost with bank bonuses since the Schwab is now closed) or I would have enough AA miles if I move some Bonbon points over to AA. I wanted to save those though. Decisions! I know, poor us, Big Island for Christmas and Maui for New Year's. I think we'll survive, lol!

If you know your dates, then you can jump on the Saver fares as soon as they open up.

Thanks! Yeah I’m hoping to at least get the saver fare to HNL. Not sure where we’ll fly back from yet so I’ll probably have the standard rate on that, but that’s ok. It’s lookinng so far like United is our best option.

So I’ve still been looking at dates for my birthday trip and resort options at wdw. Our options would be:

oct 31-nov 3 (there are basically no hotels available unless I do a magical rate, no MVMCP, I do have Oga’s adrs though)

Nov 14-17 (I have lots of oga’s Adrs for this weekend and we could do MVMCP but all star movies is gone as an option, no magical rates for this weekend)

Nov 28-dec 1 (we’ve never done thanksgiving at Disney so don’t know how busy it’ll be, there are more resort options, I am unable to get any Oga’s adrs and f&w will be over)

What do you guys think? I’m leaning towards November 14-17 and just paying more for a resort

We did the Nov 14-17 trip last year and had a great time!

Did you contact the airline and/or TSA? It’s recommended start with a DM tweet to the airline and if they can’t solve it try one to TSA. It’s surprising how often it’s a glitch in the system that doesn’t give you TSA-Pre vs you actually being selected not to have Pre.

I’m leaning towards those dates. The only thing is the resort will most likely cost us more since there aren’t many deals, but I’d like to do that long weekend for f&w which we couldn’t do nov 28-dec 1

I think when we went to Punta Cana SW was able to add something to her boarding pass to get her through pre-check so I'll ask at the check-in counter.

DH is B37. I'm B60 and my mom is C10. If they won't let him board with us, I'll just use part of the Biz Plat credit to move him to A1-15 slots.

My Amex Gold renewed at $195 instead of the new $250. I was only slightly worried I'd get hit with the new fee. Keeping it at least one more year because I'm showing at minimum $467 savings between offers, airline credit and dining credit. I think I need to add a few more credits and then restart for this member year.

There should be no reason he can't just accompany you on the plane at C1 - I'd just have him line up with you. If you're B60, nobody should be boarding between you 2 anyways. (With the rare exception of some A or B group or A-List person who was late getting to the gate).
