Terrible service at Grand Floridian

So here is how bad the service is, after 21/2 days of one thing after another I had had enough. I went to the front desk to complain and I went through briefly with a girl at the desk many of the things that have happened, because you couldn’t find anybody in a suit. She listened and said I’ll have my manager get in touch with you right away. 26 hours later still waiting(she did scan my magic band). Oh and 2 more things have happened since talking to her, not counting them not getting in touch with me. I am not that picky and I have stayed at every other Disney resort on property. I thought I was saving the best for last but I will not be staying here again. The room is nice no doubt about it. If only one or two or three of the issues had happened I would have just gone on about my business, but it has been unreal all the different things and the amount of times I’ve had to complain to get something fixed that should have already been done. My rant is now over. I will eat at Citricos again.

Sorry you’re having a bad experience. Sometimes a resort or an entire trip just goes South & it is so frustrating when you think of all the time & energy & money that went into it.

Try to shake it off and enjoy the rest of your stay & send an email to Guest Services after your trip. If it’s anything that you can live with and doesn’t need to be dealt with you’re only going to lose more vacation time chasing resolution.

By the way, I also wasn’t at all impressed by with the GF.
 
Love loved our lunch at Grand Floridian cafe, haven’t stayed there yet because it seemed a less ‘joy’ filled place- more stuffy and stoic..we go for casual and fun- it just doesn’t work for us. When I hit 70- it might be ideal. Hope you get some fixes before you leave.
 
Ugh! Sorry to hear ur disappointment. Don’t let it ruin your vacation. Gather names/dates n times n if u can live with the “ off” things... follow with written correspondence upon ur return

Don't wait!!! Management can't do anything for you, if they haven't been informed. CM probably never forwarded the message. Stop at front desk while still there and just ask for a manager. As others have said, managers are always at the hotels.

The same thing happened to us in April. I couldn't believe the problems we had because I thought GF was the best resort on property with their ridiculous prices. Our room had multiple issues and the bathroom looked like something of a motel vs a $700 a night hotel. Luckily, we had a good manager and they gave us some "dining credits" which was nice. I would never stay there again though! Definitely not worth the price IMO.
 
So sorry to hear that you are having issues and that no one has contacted you. We had an issue at POFQ on our last stay and I both visited the front desk as well as sent an email to the GM of the resort (there should be a welcome letter in your room with the email address - but is should be wdw.gm.grandfloridian@disney.com based on the email address I have for the GM of POFQ). I had a call from the POFQ GM's office within 20 minutes of sending my email. Might be worth a try since you have had so many different issues that don't seem to be resolved.
 
I've always been curious about this resort but never pulled the trigger on staying there. It seems this isnt an isolated issue especially after watching Pete's review recently.
 
Sounds like the experience Pete Werner (disboards owner) had at the GF recently.

I had the opportunity to stay there. I'm glad I tried it but it pretty far down my list of places to stay again.
 
After reading everybody’s responses I did find the GMs email. I did email last night and this morning I had a response asking for my phone number and a convenient time that they could call. I responded with the info that they wanted. I then received an automated email saying that he was out of the office until August 8th. I just figured one more thing. I truly am amazed.

I dont think it has any less service level than any of the other deluxes(none of them have the service level of similar vacation resorts or business class hotels at the same price point). The problem is its their flag ship and the Four Seasons just a few miles away blows its service quality out of the universe. I read on a rumor site this drives Chapek crazy and he plans a complete retheming of GF to keep up with the Four Season (again on a rumor site).
 
I think it may be on the same level as the other deluxe, but I've stayed at BLT, WL and BWV with excellent service. I'm just wondering what the hiccup may be at GF.

Time for another trek to the Front Desk, and don't leave until somebody in charge has resolved yor issues.
