I have never used Uber or Lyft and am thinking about using it on our upcoming trips for at least one of our EMM and possibly returning to the airport (currently scheduled on DME). Is this something that can be scheduled in advance for a specific time or do I need to go on the app when I want the ride? We are staying at SSR so would I need to walk to the main building for pickup or does it come to the building where we are? Also do the prices include tip or is this something that I pay separately? I am pretty sure that I read that they don't pick up/drop off at the Magic Kingdom. Would I go to Contemporary or TTC? Total newbie and clueless. Thanks so much.

First of all, here's a link to the definitive thread on all things Uber/Lyft:

It is possible to schedule a ride, but it's a mistake. "Scheduled ride" just means the company dispatches it early (sometimes an HOUR early). The most likely outcome with a scheduled ride is a $10 cancellation fee because the driver arrives way early and you're not ready.

Pickup will be very prompt -- just order when you are ready to get in the car.

Uber drivers can go wherever other regular cars can go. So, in most places (including SSR) they will drive right to where you are.

Prices do NOT include tip. You can tip in cash (preferred by most drivers), or in the app using your credit card.
I am pretty sure that I read that they don't pick up/drop off at the Magic Kingdom. Would I go to Contemporary or TTC?
No dropoff at MK. Going to MK, set your destination for the Contemporary. It's just a short walk. For pickup, short walk to the Contemporary and order your ride from there.

1. Is this something that can be scheduled in advance for a specific time or do I need to go on the app when I want the ride?

1. You cannot book in advance
2. There should be multiple pick up locations, but I'm not sure where they are
3. Tip is not included
4. Correct
5. Either one.

We've used rideshare from SSR. You can request the pick up to where ever in the parking lot you are standing. Best advice I have is you stand outside the door to your building on the sidewalk when you start your request. You can manually move the pin but I'd only suggest that to someone who is familiar with the app.

Not quite. There are a few (very few) places that a guest can drive their car but a Ride Share can not access without the guest in the vehicle.
I haven't stayed there since the Tower construction but CSR has internal gates that require magic band access to enter. It's possible they've been removed but I haven't heard. So at CSR you have to get to a spot outside the gated areas. I believe this is the lobby only. They'd be able to drop off anywhere on resort property since the guest is in the car and can use their band

The other place Ride Share can't go that a guest can is around FW, like to campsites or cabins.

OP is at SSR so it doesn't apply to them but I only mention it as it could make a difference to others who read along with similar questions.
