@elgerber So glad at least you got your CIP bonus pending. Sure hope the Sam’s debacle gets cleared up easier than you expect.

I may need help later today with my daisy chain. I tried moving points around yesterday and ended up with an error message. I thought I had it figured out but apparently not. I need 240k miles in dh’s United acct. He has around 80k now. Previously I’ve gone P2 CIP1 -> P1 CIP1 -> P1 CSR. Now I need to get UR to P2 CIP2 which I will then move to his United acct. With our CIP2’s being on the same account with our CIP1’s I think that’s throwing me off. I set up my CSR to transfer to P2 CIP2 and did a test 1k transfer, which worked. But that has messed up my ability to transfer out of my CIP’s. When I tried to yesterday I got an error. So I’m leaving it for 24 hours and hope to figure it out later today.

Like buy them? Or pay with them? Dosh wont link to gift cards for payment. The offers usually sya you wont get cash back on gift cards, but typically it credits anyways
I was confused when you said it depends on where you’re located. I thought you meant only certain places will let you get gift cards lol. I’d hate to buy Disney gcs and not get the 5% back

Booooooo. Been working 7am-7pm all week. Did I tell you what my work did to deal with the July 4th holiday? They gave us Thurs-Fri off, with the option to take Fri unpaid or use PTO, and then worked the weekend starting at 3am Saturday. This saves them money in two ways. One, we get doubletime for any hours worked on a holiday, on top of 8 hours of holiday pay, so they didn't do that. Two, we get doubletime on Sundays for any hours worked as long as you have 40 hours between regular time/PTO/holidays and 8 hours of overtime. This means not everyone would hit the 48 hour mark by Sunday unless they used PTO...

I was not wasting my PTO so I took it unpaid, but still made my 48 hours because 2nd shift has been off since the 3rd. My new problem is that 3rd shift has to go home at 7am Saturday, and we're pretty certain they will run until close to 11am. I've now exhausted all of my options for others who could cover that and have to come back at 7am 😭 Mid post update though, Someone can work on Monday at 3am so that's better. I was really just not wanting to do both. Another mid post update, an issue just came up with this employee, a very big one that could affect this...

And I got someone else in to cover at the end of the month with a similar situation, only I'd have to be in at 3am Saturday. But technically that puts me breaking our 12 day rule, so crisis averted. I was worried we would have to work something else out, like I take a day off, and I would be fighting to take it unpaid since I wouldn't want to take the dang day off. I think new management would be more willing to work with that than my last boss.

I have to cancel 2 cards this month.
1. AMEX Gold Business. I opened 7/5/18 - Annual Fee has not shown up yet. Am I safe to cancel or should I wait?
2. Barclay Arrival + for DH - Opened 7/16/18. Do you need to wait a year to cancel for Barclay or not?

You need to find a new job.

Yes, I was happy to see my UR's this morning! CIP support links are working now, correct? Gotta refer DH now that I know the bank worked.
I just have no words for Amex, going to call them again next Monday. That will be two weeks since my last discussion with them.
Sams, I don't even know what to do on that at this point. The police report wont' even be done for a couple of days, to find out if they can email it. And not sure about disputing, since it's only part of the charge I need to dispute? Right now I am out $725 and I haven't a clue how to go about getting it back.

This is amazing! I have a VGC and a Serve card at home and I'm too scared to do anything with them!

I suggested in a previous post that people can try loading their Serve with a real bank debit card (know your PIN!), just to get a feel for how the process works. It will be identical when you go to use the VGC.

I've noticed it shows up as a purchase too (hint, hint bank bonuses) when I load at WM.

So..... I had this calculated wrong apparently..... I just got my CIP June 1, and I thought P2 was up next but after rechecking CK site it appears nothing for him till Sept. I really want another CIP, but assuming I have to wait until Sept to app again, right? I'm sitting here at 3/24 wanting an MSR! (nothing huge, but something!) FOr some reason I had it in my head that I wasn't eligible for a while but that's P2 right now....

Yikes! @SouthFayetteFan & @Alexle2007 - Bethany Marriott Suites are $969 plus tax for reg suite or $1118 a night tax incl exec corner ocean front suite for the weekend I wanted to try it out with points. They won't give me a points room so it's a non issue. I was looking at July 26th. Points might show up as we get closer if they are slow booking. The rooms look lovely in the pictures but I'm wondering what they look like in real life, ie still like new or worn. I was going to pitch them the 50K and do 1 night before heading to Hyatt in Ocean City - and save 15k Hyatt points. I could have booked this on points months ago but had Hyatt on my brain.

Only want 1 night as it's still location location for me as at Hyatt I'm closer to Assateague and my preferred dining options. But - could have used my Marriott gift card to dine at their seafood restaurant and try it out.

Could do Clearwater for 3-4 nights for those prices.

But the weather looks a lot nicer in Md/De for the next few days.
As I'm reading this I'm thinking about how nice it would have been to understand the hacking game 10 years ago when I took my family on a wild island camping trip to Assateague b/c it was the most affordable way to go... 5 nights in a tent on the wild seashore, biking and wandering among all the beauty.... our tent in a hurricane...all those ticks covering our tent screen like a blanket...oh but then we would have missed the adventure(?) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: this just makes me laugh now

I never combined my Marriott and SPG Rewards accounts. Is that a smooth process? I am so paranoid it seems. I booked an upcoming stay using points and my FN certificate and I can see it on my SPG account. I also have an upcoming 1 night stay at a Marriott that is under the old Marriott number. Should I wait till after both of these stays before I combine them?
