Serve question - I see on the website CVS is a store where you can add money. However, I only ever see people talking about FD/DG/WM. I'm assuming that's for a reason? Has CVS disallowed Serve loads with GCs?

Serve can be reloaded at many places like CVS, western union, rite aid, etc. but FD/DG/WM is only talked about because the loads can be done for free.

edit: i think? haha. DG is very YMMV. FD is said to be best and easiest followed by WM.

Yikes! @SouthFayetteFan & @Alexle2007 - Bethany Marriott Suites are $969 plus tax for reg suite or $1118 a night tax incl exec corner ocean front suite for the weekend I wanted to try it out with points. They won't give me a points room so it's a non issue. I was looking at July 26th. Points might show up as we get closer if they are slow booking. The rooms look lovely in the pictures but I'm wondering what they look like in real life, ie still like new or worn. I was going to pitch them the 50K and do 1 night before heading to Hyatt in Ocean City - and save 15k Hyatt points. I could have booked this on points months ago but had Hyatt on my brain.

Only want 1 night as it's still location location for me as at Hyatt I'm closer to Assateague and my preferred dining options. But - could have used my Marriott gift card to dine at their seafood restaurant and try it out.

Could do Clearwater for 3-4 nights for those prices.

But the weather looks a lot nicer in Md/De for the next few days.

Messed up when I closed MILs CSR, I closed them both 7/1, 7/2 maybe... forgot her statement (with AF on it) closed 6/28 so there was a $25 late fee. Oops. I made that payment and closed. I see now that they refunded the late fee with the CSR AF... I guess because the AF was the only thing on the statement period?

@CyndiLouWho or any other Chicagoians...I currently have a 6:15 pm flight on a Thurs evening looked from ORD. I am thinking traffic will be horrible trying to get from the Hilton downtown to ORD, would a 2:30 pm flight be better? Or how much time should I allow to ORD? We are flying United since they are gov't contract carrier and I will probably just have carry-ons so I don't have to wait for luggage.

@calypso726 Thanks for posting about using Avios for Disney resorts? Did you happen to notice if they have Disney resorts once 2020 hits? We are traveling Jan 10-13 and I’d hate to transfer MR to Avios if the Disney resorts aren’t there.

Your welcome.
No idea but I can check later when I’m at a computer. For some reason I can’t access the same stuff from my phone.

I priced these for fun, prices before tax

Direct, full price no discounts:
WL: $435 (nature view) = 0.57cpp
Dolphin: $189 = 0.90cpp
Swan: $209 = 0.76cpp

Expedia:
WL: $435
Dolphin: $249 (?)
Swan: $188

Kayak:
WL: $391 via Priceline (sale)
Dolphin: $143 via Hotels.com
Swan: $188 via Priceline

I know my Swan/Dolphin reservations were ~1.2cpp with AA miles. So maybe a little lower value than AA total, but a good option for those of us looking for free!

I was pretty sure the CPP was quite low. However, I thought it could be beneficial for those who haven’t found a use for Amex MR points. I also thought some folks might want to play around with redemption scenarios and game their portal, I also saw something about booking experiences with Avios but don’t know what it available or possible. Short haul flights on American booked with Avios, with and without Disney hotel etc. I think it could be worth exploring the options for some.

Yooza! I am going to Orlando for girls trip and DH decided he needed to take DS to OCMD while I am away. They are going 8/1-3 and staying at the Comfort Inn on 1st St for 6k + $180 a night.

I just noticed that you can buy Universal Tix with MRs. Just 1, 2 or 3 day passes, no buy 2 days and get 3 free deals. And they are priced much higher (34kMR for 2 day 2 park pass vs. 16K UR for 2 day 2 park) but I don't currently have plans for my P2's MR stash, so even though this would be "expensive", it may be an option... I always feel like my MR redemptions kind of suck (so much more expensive than using URs), but churn and burn, right?

Can't you take CTA? It's $2.50/person (can use Apple Pay) and so convenient. We did this Memorial Day weekend.

What's the recommended timeline on trying to get a Marriott FN cert extended? I was going to use my 25k one on the cruise, but now I have it and it expires at the beginning of Sept... Not sure what I'll do with it now (or any of them, to be honest!). Also, is it Marriott you call for that?

Does anyone know anything about Postmates? I found a postmates VISA business card. I think it must be what the employees use. I tried calling the number on the back of the card but no option to speak to a person. It tells me to open a ticket in the career app.

I don’t know if the employee would have just cancelled his card and got a new one or if there could be money on the card that they could lose. I don’t want to spend a lot of time on this But I hate to just toss it in the trash if it’s worth something to the person who lost it. I’d like to get it back to them if that’s the case. It says it’s a visa business prepaid card issued by Metabank. Does anyone have any insight on this? It’s the “prepaid” language that has me worried

:rotfl: This kind of sounds like something DH would say, just because he's not as deep into the details... Now he has progressed to, "Whatever you think is best" which is super frustrating when I want to bounce ideas off him

I really like anker power banks. I have one that is 4.5 years old and going strong. I picked up two on sale last year because I was looking for a lighter one to carry in my purse when traveling... decided the first one was too small (not enough power) and the second is almost the same capacity as my old one but half the size and weight.

DH is in love with their battery phone cases.
Dh has tried looking at plane tickets on the UR portal before and we always end up spending the money OOP because we can get plane tickets so cheap through allegiant or frontier. I actually have never used URs on anything besides hotels but that might change if we decide to get universal tickets

Has anyone had experience getting the limit on their CCs lowered? Thinking of

Can you call Metabank to see if they can look up who it belongs to?

Following! I have one that expires Jan. 31 next year and I think I'll want to use it in February when we go to Orlando. But don't want to get #bonvoyed in the process

Not sure what that is. It's a work trip so I'll get reimbursed for my expenses. Off to see what that is since we have mass transportation options where I live.

I'd tweet at postmates that you found.a card and want help with it.

Not sure how it works but that might be the card they use to pay places when they pick stuff up.

It's the train. It's a piece of cake to take from O'Hare into the city and vice versa. One of many things I love about Chicago.

We took it both ways in May. My kids aren't mass transit kids so I thought it was a good experience for them:)

Looks like I have completed 3/4 current MSRs and need to open Cippy Cup 2 for P2 shortly. Also got my 100k amex from Platicorn and was able to pull the 20% off on Amazon for a $50 discount on a gift card with 1 MR point.

Also no surprise but my 4th attempt at SW gift card credit with Amex also failed.

You know what's crazy, I can't think of a single FD here - a Google search shows only one not that far away but in a sketchy area of town.

There's a Safeway about a 20 minute walk away, and a WM on the walk back if I take a slightly different route, so that's what I'll probably try out. Unfortunately the WM is also not in a great area, but it's my only option otherwise.
