Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Coming out of lurkdom to ask -how is the wifi at the Boardwalk? Our kiddo will be in bed by 7:30 and we're wondering if the wifi is good enough to stream TV shows on an iPad. Thanks!

I have to work while we are down there and the WiFi is very good. I have to run multiple programs and have never had a problem.

We are here!
BWI is the first part of our split stay with Poly.
Yesterday was great. We had our room by 2:30 and it was just where we like it. While I love a view, I really like to be close to the lobby so we are happy. The weather seemed a bit iffy and it rained a little, but it cleared up and was cool and breezy (for June) for Illuminations. :lovestruc
I did notice some new performers on the boardwalk that I had not seen before in case anyone is interested.

HS was super hot today but fun! Plan to enjoy some pool time this evening and try out the pool bar menu!

I noticed a new performer too, but did not even think about it until you mentioned it. We saw a girl in a sailor's suit. We did not see what she was doing as we walked up just as she finished.

We also noticed a new performer in the lobby when it was pouring down rain.

BWI and the Poly are the best of both worlds. The monorail and EPCOT worlds!

I always ask for a room by the lobby, but we never get one. The hallways can seem so long!

Have a great time!

As long as Coney Island Chris is still around. We'll be heartbroken if he's moved on. Even if his show is the same one we've seen a hundred times we love it
The others not so much

Happy July! I can now officially say I get to stay at BWI for the first time THIS MONTH! We will likely get to the resort around 8:00pm and are planning on just checking things out for a couple of hours before turning in the first night. My kids cannot wait to see this resort. Any suggestions for things we should definitely check out? We’ve stayed at BCV twice before, but only ventured across the lake once to eat at Trattoria al Forno, so we’ve never really spent any time in the Boardwalk area. Also will be looking to spend a QS dining plan credit that evening without entering a park, so suggestions to that end are also welcome. Can’t wait!

I'd get ice cream and watch the buskers

Thank you!
Yes I think that was the same girl. We couldn’t really see but there was a huge crowd around her.
We love the BWI and Poly split too. It is the best!
Yes those hallways are crazy long lol!

I don’t know the guys names, but there are so many good ones there and we’ve seen them several times. Always fun!! I hope they are all still there too. We just haven’t had a chance to check yet.

I’m never on the dining plan so my guess for using quick service dining credits in Boardwalk area without entering a park would be:
- Beach Club Marketplace
- Ale & Compass at Yacht Club
- Hurricane Hannahs outside Stormalong Bay
- Boardwalk Bakery

I’m not sure about the kiosks on the Boardwalk. I don’t think they take the dining plan but I could be wrong.

You’ll get better advice from other people. I’m killing time right now.

Thanks! Yeah, we’ve never done the dining plan before, but we booked under the free dining deal that was offered for this summer, so this time we will be. I’m intimidated by the amount of food.

The pizza at the pizza window on the Boardwalk is a good use of a quick serve credit. It has greatly improved over the past few years!

@KerryCM and @AngiTN would probably know better than me, but I have heard that the Boardwalk pizza is not that great. But, it may be a good use of a QS credit. However if the pool bars are open at BW or YC they are a better value if you include mixed adult drinks! Ample Hills or BW Bakery cupcakes are a great use of a snack credit without going into the parks.

I love the pepperoni pizza from the Boardwalk Pizza window. For a good old basic pepperoni pizza, it's hard to beat it. Now, we don't use the dining plan so no help on if it's a good deal or not but it is good food.

Good to know! Since we're getting the dining plan for "free" (I know not actually free as we sacrificed a room discount, but it still turned out to be a great deal), I'm not really worried about maximizing the QS credits. We love character meals, so I'm getting my value out of the TS credits. For QS I just want to have decent and convenient meals.

We don’t get the dinning plan either, but my husband does enjoy the pepperoni pizza. I think it has improved over the passed 2 years. We never used to buy it, but the past couple trips we have gotten one to split and it is fine.

Just curious, when you are splitting with the Poly - did one resort stand out more than the other?

I did a split stay from the Boardwalk to Bay Lake Tower - and when I got to BLT - it became obvious how much better the Boardwalk was! I felt like I was boxed in at BLT - and there was no where to go outside that resort......
