Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Question—last time we stayed at YC the family in the room next to us was smoking on their balcony in the evenings and the smoke wafted over to our balcony. Not a smoker and wasn’t happy with the smell. So (1) is smoking permitted and (2) If not would you have complained? I did not but probably will if it occurs again.

I have just learned that there are some new, or maybe not new but different, hot entree selections at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Rib dinner

Meatball sub

My understanding is that the food is prepared in the Cape May kitchen and brought to the Marketplace.

I haven't been able to find these additions on the menu listings on the DIS or all ears, so if anyone is at the Beach Club now or soon, would you mind snapping a couple of photos of the menu displays?

:thanks:

Supposedly there is NO SMOKING anywhere in the hotel....I believe there are smoking areas down by the walkways between hotels. The problem with all the smoking rules is and always will be enforcement of said rules. Being a huge balcony fan myself, I'd have called and complained.

Chicken and rib dinner on the menu board - this is from June 11th. Hope that helps! Not a great photo, but both are $12.49 and served from 5 - 9pm. I did not try either one, so I can't report on quality.

Whew!

I am caught up on the thread, and the Be Our Guest list for the first time since like March!

Please take a moment to check out your info to make sure I have you listed correctly.

If you have any corrections or additions to your listing, please let me know.

Post 15: Be Our Guest List

:banana::banana::banana:
thanks for the add, we are looking at going in 2020. You have me down for both 2019 and 2020. I wish! Lol 😂

We are listed as Aug 5-9 at BCV, but I changed our reservation to Aug 1-5 at YC. Sorry to be late in updating! Thank you for keeping track of all things BC/YC!

1. Only in Designated Smoking Areas which balconies are most definitely not.
2. For sure. We've done it 4 times now and every time there was no more smoking on the balcony after the call.

Back from my first Yacht Club stay, 6/9 - 16.

I have added your post with the detailed review of the rooms you stayed in to the YC Room Views thread.

Were these Garden View rooms?

Room 4070- was there a daybed or chair/ottoman? What was the shower configuration? Shower only or bathtub/shower combo? Do you remember if this was a connecting room with a door between rooms?

Room 2080- What was the shower configuration?

Thanks, again!

:goodvibes

Yes, both were garden view rooms

4070 had no other soft surfaces (daybed/chair), but there was a desk (with the smaller nesting table underneath, so it could be pulled out and extended a bit) with a desk chair, and a small leather chair with ottoman between the bed/balcony door. Only a shower, no tub, and no connecting door. It was a great room!

2080 was also shower only, with a daybed and a desk/chair combo.

We were at the BC a few years ago when the guy on the balcony next to us was smoking. I had to get up and close the balcony door because the smoke was coming in our room. I made a phone call and a few minutes later I heard a knock on the door next to ours. It seemed like the BC staff didn't waste any time addressing the issue. ;)

Ugh Dis friends I am a bit frustrated. I booked a half day cabana at SAB for September, but at the time I forgot about the AP discount. I had some time this morning, so I figured I would get that sorted. 25 minutes later and I still have no AP discount applied. Apparently, when she tried to apply the discount the cabana no longer showed as available, I have no idea why Disney makes things so difficult. She said that when I check into my resort I can have them refund the discount amount (seems reasonable but also seems like it will be quite time consuming given my experiences at Disney), I will probably call back again before the reservation to try again with a different CM, and to make sure this CM didn't accidentally cancel anything as I have very little faith in her. So frustrating that Disney can't get it together to apply simple discounts. This of course is after I have spent the last three days fighting with the website to be able to get some of the upgraded MB, not a magical week for me and Disney!

the conventioners on the other side of this door were so loud they might has well have been in the same room with me

Next time stuff a towel across the bottom of the connecting door. It'll drop the volume about 80-90%. It sounds weird but it really works!

We tried the chicken last September and it was quite good. We'd never seen that option before but we just happened to notice it one night. I don't know when it was added or if it was just a test at the time, but it was available so we tried it!

Hello!

I just need to update my trip dates. Our planned October 2019 trip has been postponed due to a surprise pregnancy. I just got my DVC rental reservations squared away, so we will be at Beach Club Villas (with an extra family member) May 12-21, 2020. 6 nights in a 2 bedroom and 3 in a studio 😊

Adding the extra infant to our party actually gave us a few extra days at my beloved Beach Club. We planned a split stay, to include 3 night in an AKL Savannah view studio, but our party is now too big to fit in an AKL studio 😂.

It has been so long since we’ve been back to the Beach Club, our last stay there was in 2011! If you told me when I left that it would be 8+ years until I would be back I would’ve thought you were crazy. But we took a few detours to the MK resort area. We enjoyed the Poly and the Grand but I’m so excited to be coming back to my first love.

I’m excited to experience Flower and Garden festival, and hoping next May has less rain, oppressive heat, and love bugs than this past May did. But no matter what, I’ll be a happy camper.

Club level friends - how close to changeover time do they start pulling food items? Say I show up at 6:45pm. Am I likely to still find appetizers or will it be a barren wasteland already as they get ready to present the desserts? I’m sure it’s partly based on how busy it is, but I’m sure they stop replenishing at some point.

My experience is that it will be a wasteland but we haven't stayed in club level for a couple years (for this and many other reasons). Hopefully it has improved.

Been busy the last couple of weeks - but I just went online to do some tentative pricing and was shocked to see so little availability at Yacht Club in August 2020... not sure what I am going to do - move to water view and pay more or try Beach Club. But the full balcony is REALLY important to us. Plus we were not 100% sure we were going at all. I figured I had a ton of time to decide. But now I feel that I have to book regardless - pay the deposit which I guess I can always get back.
