Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Yup, you can see fireworks from Epcot and HS from some of the balconies at YC. We could see them both from our room that overlooked stormalong bay.

As for BC vs YC, I used to be team BC back when I was a kid, but as an adult I'm fully team YC. A lot because of the reasons you noted, we just prefer the vibe at the YC. We also love the way they renovated the YC rooms. Another huge plus to the YC is the barn door separating the sink area from the room so there is more privacy to get ready. Oh, and the YC rooms definitely have Keurig's, which I don't believe are in all the BC rooms (at least there wasn't one in our room last fall), so coffee snobs like myself can bring some better coffee to enjoy.

All that being said, we always end up booking whichever of the two are the cheapest, which lucky for us has usually been the YC.

These are all extremely good points and really helps seal the deal for me to stay at YC! Thank you!!

For those who’ve had the opportunity to stay CL at both YC and BC in the semi-recent past, would you mind sharing which one you preferred, and why? We are torn! Thanks for any feedback!

We did BC CL in February and YC CL in April. Offerings very, very, very similar between the two. BC lounge is maybe a little bigger, but the hallway layout means the lounge/elevators can be really far from some rooms. I think the layout of the YC CL floor is a bit better, but the lounge didn’t seem to have as much seating. Both are good, so I’d base the decision on which style of room you like better since the BC rooms have the carpet and a slightly different bathroom layout and there’s the chance of not having a full balcony.

Okay, I am headed back to the BC in less than a month! (This time for a work conference) Does the BC have shower curtains or glass doors like the YC?

Sorry I missed out on the chance to :welcome: you before your trip.

Hope you had a great stay and that you are enjoying the rest of your trip.

:thumbsup2

You didn’t miss out; we check in on Tuesday & are super excited. :wave2: I think my post wasn’t clear. I meant it was a week and a day away from the day I posted.
Thank you for the kind welcome!:disrocks:

I’ll check back in here after our trip & let you know what we thought.:)

Thank you. That’s fantastic to know. My daughter is nearly 6 and a good swimmer for her age. Were you able to watch and be close by? I think she will be fine but is likely to be the littlest! Were any if the parents in the pool? Not sure if i could off booked to go with her. Thanks for the information
We (5 yo daughter and 36 yo mom) prebooked the Mermaid Activity for Tuesday, July 30th at YC. You have to report at 7:45 am for the activity. When I called to schedule, the CM said ages 4 and up, there is no upper age limit.

Wow! We are filling up the list for 2020!

:banana::banana::banana:

And we are booked for 2020! Funny thing, when I saw the total $ for the package my first thought was "wow, rates didn't really change for 2020!"....but then I realized that no, I just booked early enough for once to actually snag an elusive (for us at least) standard view room for this trip rather than having to pay extra for garden or water view. HA! In other news, we're paying close to the same amount for our trip this year in garden view as we are paying for the same dates next year standard view.

Anyways, we'll be at YC Sept 25-Oct 1st in 2020, before moving over to AKL to stay club level for the first time!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

I haven't been over to the Trip Report pages in AGES, but I just set up a "watch" for your 2018 report, so I hope to get over and read all about it soon.

:cool1:

We are booked for July 9-17, 2020 for beach club, wanted Yacht, but no availability for our dates in the category we wanted. Will be keeping an eye on this and discounts!

Got it! I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:goodvibes

Health issues necessitated canceling this year’s trip, but we are booked for 2020! We’ll be at YC Sept. 24-Oct. 1 - our first Club Level trip! We have much to celebrate!!

:welcome:

Sorry to hear about the health issues and delayed trip, but so glad to hear you have an upcoming stay to look forward to.

I'll put you on the list.

:woohoo:

So we aren't booking till military discounts come out in a few months but we are debating between BC and YC. On our last trip we had some issues with Beach Club and wanted to try Yacht Club but after looking at some of the water views at YC I am second guessing myself. The water view at BC was amazing! We are doing 3 or 4 nights at YC or BC then resort hopping to Shades of Green for the rest of the trip.
Am I remembering correctly that YC has full balconies while BC only has a portion of rooms with these?
Also, can you see any fireworks from your YC balcony in any of the water view rooms?
The reason we are considering staying at YC over BC is because BC was a little too busy, noisy, and dirty for us....can you all think of any other reasons YC wins over BC?
Should we just stay with BC and hope that some of our issues are better the second time around?

Lots of great advice- and I think I saw you comment later that the comments have sold you on YC.

I don't remember if anyone mentioned that the buses to the parks pick up at YC first, so you are more likely to get a seat if it is a crowded time of day.

::yes::

OK, a bunch of comments I replied to disappeared, so I'll post this and re-reply to the rest of the page!

Booked BC Garden View October 20 - 28, 2020! Yay! Was going for YC but only water view and up remained. Excited to try BC for the first time. Can't go wrong either way!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

It's official! My sister and I will be staying at the Beach Club (Garden View) from 10/13/20-10/20/20. We're going to be some birthday milestones (#50 for me [Apr] and #65 for her [Feb]. I was hoping for Yacht Club, but it seemed that they only had Club level rooms available in October 2020. Is there some sort of mega convention going on? Regardless, my Dreams agent will be watching for specials between now and then.

482 days and counting! ⛱

I'll add you to the list!

Rock those birthday buttons!!! (Can you still get those?)

:cake::cake:

Bookings for 2020 opened in the UK a few weeks ago. I booked Beach Club standard view on the first day as that's all that was available. After about three days the garden view rooms finally appeared so I changed. I think they take their sweet time uploading all the different rooms!!!

Got it!

:woohoo:

Just booked BC for Aug 12-22 2020!!!!!!

My family is super excited to be heading back to the Beach Club. We stayed there for our first visit to the world back in 2012 when my oldest was just 2 years old. My girls know we are going next year since we didn't go this year but my oldest still wanted to be surprised so, I will have to see how I can swing this.

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:cool2:

We booked July 3-12, 2020, at Yacht. Never been to Disney for the 4th of July so thought it might be fun.

:welcome: back!

Great time for a trip, or so I have heard.

I'll add you to the list.

🎆

Actually, there are a few rooms at YC that do not have full balconies I believe.

Correct- there are a handful. I think they are a bank of WV rooms, maybe X163?

Trying to do multiple things at once & somehow totally messed up that reply @natebenma. Hope you see it! :)

Got it!

Totally my fault- I read "tomorrow" and missed the "a week from".

Enjoy your trip!

I haven’t given much thought to renting a cabana but now rethinking it. Might be nice for one of our pool days. My question is do you pay up front or while there? And what is consensus do people think it is worth it?

They take payment upon reservation. We really enjoyed it. There are just two of us and we had cabana 4, the most "out of the way" cabana. Perfect location. There is an AP discount.

You pay up front but you can cancel...I don't recall the timeframe for cancelling and losing all/part of your money, though.

We loved it! It was so relaxing...my kids went to the pool, my wife took a nap...yes, we felt it was worth it. The fruit tray and stocked fridge were awesome. We had never spent that much time relaxing at the pool.
I wouldn't recommend ordering the food, though. It was ok and fun to eat at the cabana but I'd much rather eat at Beaches and Cream.

I believe you can cancel up to 24 hours in advance and still get your money back. We really enjoyed the experience in May but I don't think we'll do it again in December, just due to the cooler temps.

Whew!

I am caught up on the thread, and the Be Our Guest list for the first time since like March!

Please take a moment to check out your info to make sure I have you listed correctly.

If you have any corrections or additions to your listing, please let me know.

We changed our May 2020 trip to July, so only going once (unfortunately)

Back from my first Yacht Club stay, 6/9 - 16.

I started out in a room with a king bed (4070), but asked to be moved to a double queen room a few days later since I had a friend joining me at the end of the trip (2080).

The day I was moved to the second floor, a convention group was checking in. They were SO LOUD. They had a party in the quiet pool (room 2080 looked right out onto it) that was so loud I could hear it through my earplugs. The group also did something to the hot tub that night, because it was out of service for the next two days. The group was often loud and very drunk in the hallways, outside on the walkway by the quiet pool, and in the Ale and Compass lounge.

Once they left, it was back to quiet and normal again.

Thanks to this thread, I knew about the "secret entrance" door, and both rooms I was in turned out to be in a really decent location with easy access to laundry/pool/and boardwalk area.

Overall it was a fine stay, but I think we are more Magic Kingdom resort area people. Nothing wrong with the Epcot area, it's beautiful, but I think I just need that daily dose of castle, you know?

I feel like we'll probably visit the YC again as a family, so I'm not calling it a one-and-done.

Some pics of room 4070, the king bed room with the large balcony:

410697

410698

410699

The balcony was at least double the width of a normally sized one. It was nice!

And of 2080, the two queen room:

410701

410702

(the conventioners on the other side of this door were so loud they might has well have been in the same room with me. Same story on the balcony, I could hear them clearly through the doors.)

410703

No real outdoor privacy in this room compared with the 4th floor room

410704

straight on view of the Admiral Pool.
